  • I did empty the tank and pulled the screen/plug. The screen had goo on it and I soaked it in carb cleaner for a while. It was experimental as I wasn't sure it wouldn't eat the plastic frame. It didn't and I put the same screen all cleaned up back in service. I got a project in mind for a home built screenless plug with 3/4 inch pipe threads. I'll make a video of it.

  • Did you find any trash in the tank? Also, is the fuel screen at the tank gummed up? Great video!

  • Fancy tank! I've used two fuel hoses into an empty juice bottle.

  • @hoppes9 You drive it like that? This way I can even get it off the ramps without dumping fuel all over. I've run it around the block with that tank.

  • @beatnic50 Yes, actually! It snugs down behind the washer bottle and doesn't really move. The hoses fit tight through the suitably modifed cap. I also used it to do a diesel purge last time I changed the filters.

  • Is this the same Mercedes that you modified the heat and air conditioning controls?

  • @56CrownVick No, that car was on my station wagon which is a 300TD. I'm having fuel problems with it too so it will be next on the ramps. I think I got some bad fuel. BTW I just threw the valve I put on the heater hose to the winter open position. Also there is a little piece of plastic which uses throttle position to control the tranny via a vacuum valve, well it's worn out so the tranny is shifting hard. I will try to make that piece as I've heard they aren't available. Another video!
