this is a demonstration, in a demonstration you "act" in a self defence situation these people would do more basic moves, but then again some people hapkido sparr that much were they can use more advanced or (fancy) techniques. On another note, the children look like they have worked very hard for their belt, and in korea they dont do bullshit around like alot of american schools do. nuff said.
As a General Reply - Yes, these Hurt. But usually when youre in Pain, you tense up. You dont start jolting around. I have never seen that anywere ive Trained or Observed, Hapkido or otherwise.
@Caeviens i disagree a lil, you have to jolt a little like dapping on the floor on yourself to tell the person that their doing it right, and that it hurts. But i also agree about the jolting around which is pretty funny
@IHelpNexon Well, ive never seen or heard of that. Usually you learn this stuff over time, so its not like these Black Belts are Newbies. When they Learn it, is when they should be Communicating. The most Common of course, is for the Partner to tell them if theyre doing it wrong. And Tap out if its Correct. But again - These Guys are meant to be Experienced enough to not need such Blatant Portrayal of their Success. But hey - Maybe some places are different.
@pezilla123 beacuse there useing joint manpulation and it realy hurt there wrist. the kick defnse the put there shin bone in the bend of the knee and going foward and the could blow the knee and it hurts that why they spaz out.

Most Hapkido I see is basically a swift "Im not going to be harmed by that any more", followed by fancy, basic, swift, slow, whatever. I.e., I feel its being treated too much like a performance. The Initiative Attacks for example, take too long between the Hold and the Constraint. Its clear these people are skilled, its just...
