i have been listening to this everyday since i found this, thank you so much for posting. please please please if you have more from this show put em up!!!!
oh and by the way: there is a recent live version of No Devotion on Youtube, featuring... Richard 23, and it is just awesome! (live at the wax trax 33+&/3 birthday party-festival)
i thought that sounded like ogre. it's interesting going back and watching old ministry tour videos, bill reiflin was one of the first members of what we now think of as the "classic" period ministry to join, he played on the twitch tour.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that Nivek Ogre singing on this? It sure as hell looks and sounds like him. I know he was touring with Ministry around the time this was made.
@j37h3r It was of of Zoolook. Woollomooloo, or however the track was spelled. The whole spooky intro / total keyboard sections are pure clones of the track.
@j37h3r some of the weird background sample loops are also found on Zoolook, but they didn't sample it from Jarre. Both Jarre and Ministry used the Fairlight CMI and these sounds are part of the standard Fairlight sound library.
Cool! In fact, a week or so ago i found this out as well, so i guess both Revolting Cocks as SPK came to borrow from Jarre? Unless even Jarre sampled that sound from yet another source? :)
@raymanscape Can't remember what year the SPK bit came out, but I think Zoolook was 83 or 84? A good two years before RC dropped Big Sexy Land. Seeing as how Jarre was always viewed as a leading innovator in Moogs, Fairlights, Korgs, etc..... I'm willing to bet the most skilled musician in the 3 different acts is him - and if i was forced to bet, my money is that he's probably being imitated by SPK and RC :)
SPK : Zamia lehmani is from 1985-86, jarre's song is definately first, i was just wondering if that wuuuh sound is synthmade or sampeled from some other source. (i dont mind sampling, by the way)
@raymanscape Also, some more RC facts.... "We Shall Cleanse The World" is loaded with samples from the original Charlton Heston "Omega Man" (I Am Legend was a remake of this) and "Attack Ships On Fire" is taken from Roy Batty's death speech near the end of Blade Runner. "I've seen things..... attack ships on fire off the shores of Orion..." "38" is about a number of soccer fans killed in a crush at a stadium in either England or Europe... Union Carbide "Bhopal" accident was in India.
indeed, loads of (movie)samples were used in 80ies and 90ies EBM, there even used to be a website that listed a whole lot of them (sadly that site had disappeared some years ago)
it's hard to watch 80ies Sci-Fi or horror movies without constantly recognizing samples used in songs :D
Now when you put Nivek Orge and Jourgensen together, miracles begin to happen, they sure do.

Alien Jourgensen...looks pretty sober here. He was wasted beyond reality in a concert in 88 in Seattle.
