  • @misder1 yea i know, this was for a school project lol

  • so does your Ram haul things with ease?, I have a 360 and am looking to get a newer hemi

  • @99dodgeram360 yea it does great!! believe me or not but sometimes while towing our camper, the engine will drop from 8 cylinder to 4 to save gas! if yur plannig on gettin a new hemi, get a 07-present Hemi, the reason im saying this is cuz the new hemi's have a MDS (Multi Displacement System) which cuts 4 of the 8 cylinders to save gas and money at the pump!!

  • @DodgeRamFan11 I planned on it, and I know all about MDS, thats what I'm looking for. Actually its from 06 and up. I want either 07 or 08

  • @DodgeRamFan11

I wouldn't get MDS for truck mainly because it is useless for a truck weighting this heavy. Only time it will go into 4 cylinder mode is that you cruising on FLAT lands. Most people will disable MDS and got much better fuel mileage running FULL v8. Go on dodge forum and do research. I personally own a 04 ram hemi.

  • @DodgeRamFan11 ah i think they started the MDS in 2006

  • My crown vic would drop to 2 mpg when I floored it with no trailer on LOL

  • uhoh, he wasnt wearing a seatbelt....

  • @ABrick2009 yea my dad was, the seat belt light indicator is between the tachometer and speedometer, while I was in back filming without a seat belt on lol

  • DodgeRamFan11 > '.. MPG's .. a Ram .. will get towing ..'

Actually, the video only shows the miles per gallon while accelerating sharply ('pedal to the metal,' as you put it) with a load. The miles per gallon while towing is an average (accelerating, cruising, coasting downhill, etc) over several miles. That will change somewhat based on the average terrain (amount of hills, flat areas, stops, etc) over those miles.

  • yea its a lot of strain on the engine, but the HEMI gets the job done!!!

  • @DodgeRamFan11 yeah, that Hemi has some serious punch, way more then Chevy and Fords 5- liter V8s make. how heavy was the camoper?

  • @abram7117 the camper ways about 6,500 loaded but we took a lot of stuff out cuz it was gettin close to the end of fall so, im guessin it probably weighed about 4,000 maybe???

  • @DodgeRamFan11 yall realize that doin this is terrible for your tranny and it being a dodge product yalls already gonna have problems with it?

  • @badassouthernboy the truck only had about 8,000-12,000 miles on it, so its just gettin broken in, haha

  • @DodgeRamFan11 hell its still under warrenty keep beatin the hell outta it

  • @badassouthernboy it was still under warrenty until July 2010, but not no more

  • Not to question you, but isn't WOT when pulling a trailer put alot of strain on your trucks engine

  • What were u hauling?

  • @killer505152 - We were haulin our camper
