Hi! Thank you for the video! It´s really great! =D I want to buy some Zills, but I dont know where to buy good ones. Do you know if the Zills that the Fat chance bellydance online store are selling, if they are good?
Very good, but i think one should first try to learn the arabian rhythms, and just after start with the cymbals. As to the right-left or left-right, according to Hossam Ramzy, it doesn't make any difference, bcs there are not dums or tacks in zagats or cymbals
I just bgt.zills. they are not brass, but still fun be .they are lite weight. Does it matter what size they are? mine are about 2/ 1/2 inches? second ques. v3rd.ques. I am left handed so the 3-5 pattern is: lrl pause lrlrl...is that correct? thanking you in advance...
@distar10 Yes, although it is really what's most comfortable for you, but typically, people who are left handed use the odd count (1,3,5, etc.) for their main hand. That goes for right handed people as well. Some people who are left handed do this with drums too.
I just went to a Bellydance seminar with my instructor. We went to the Turquoise international booth. They had all their zills laid out. My instructor told me to find a set that Fit my hand since they come in different sizes then find the one that I like the ring tone of. If you can find a bellydance seminar and actually try them on would help you a great deal.
are zills supposed to make mostly a 'clapping' noise or a 'ringing' noise, with the other being an accent noise? ex - clap ring clap? or something like that?
they are supposed to make ringing noises most of the time... I have accented the sounds so that you can decipher the pattern. So be sure that you are ringing you zills unless you are clapping them on purpose. Hope this helps. Hugz, Nika
Wow, you are a good teacher
