  • best moment ever

  • Where Lois decks the other bitch squarely in the face is my favorite part of this scene. LOL

  • And I would never have guessed that Terrance Stamp/Zod would go on to become Jor-El and Annette O'Toole/Lana in Superman 3, would go on to be Martha Kent in Smallville as series regulars. Christopher Reeve made guest appearances as Dr. Virgil Swan, Dean Cain guest starred as Vandal Savage, and I think the Lois actress, Margot here who's surname escapes me at the moment was Swan's assistant, then Terri Hatcher, Lois in Lois & Clark went on to guest star as Ella Lane, Lois' mom in Smallville, etc.

  • @WystenDraco Michael Ironside was General Sam Lane in Smallville, and previously did the Voice of Darkseid from Superman the Animate Series, and later Justice League, and JL Unlimited. Michael Rosenbaum, the Smallville Lex also voiced Wally West/Flash in JL & JLU. Amazing how alot of Superman or DCU live and voice cast, past and present, have done more than one significant role in multiple DCU media.

  • You know, Superman actually kills the villains in the movies.

Here he killed 3 Kryptonians, Ok Lois actually killed one of them.

In the third movie he killed his evil self and some other guys.

In the 4th movie he killed the clone.

In the cartoons nobody ever gets hurt... lol

  • @Wade23581 You ever see the deleted scenes/extended version of the movie? Superman did NOT kill these guys. The cops came and took them away.

  • From the crunching sound, I'd say Zod will never play the violin again.

  • This movie could have been so much better if they had just let Richard Donner do it the way he planned it. No stupid gimmicks or slapstick, just straight up serious action between Zod and Kal-El.

  • did lois just kill that girl?

  • my favorite scene in this whole movie

  • @Battle5tarRJC

Yeah, but the criminals would have killed everyone eventually...

  • I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but didn't they just murder three people?

  • @Battle5tarRJC Haha no just two, Non did kill himself ;P

  • @Battle5tarRJC dude seriously did you watch the movie this kinda comment isnt really cool you do realise they tryed to destroy the world dont you and they arent human im not going to get into a debate with you watch the movie and get back to me cheers.

  • @Christizm I saw this when I was about 3. I watched it again recently and yeah okay I get it. I was just making a little joke and didn't mean to annoy you. Although I think we can both agree that the first movie was better regardless.

  • @Battle5tarRJC no problems amigo and yes I agree first one was better but all of them are good except for superman returns that was a bit dissapointing considering the standards of the other movies

  • @Christizm As flawed as Superman Returns was I thought that Superman 4 was worse.

  • @Battle5tarRJC If you watch the Richard Donner cut, the 3 villians were taken away by the "Arctic Police"-so i guess they weren't killed

  • @SJHFoto Oh yeah I've heard about that cut. Any good?

  • lol... Superman needs some super antiperspirant at 1:00

  • FAKE

  • @1madaboutguitar no its not fake idiot watch superman 2 and if you dont have it just watch it on netflix or download it off of the internet or watch it on youtube

  • @aurasphere5000 You're wrong. Soooooo wrong!

  • And don't ever let me catch you in America!!!!

  • The fuck just happened...

  • @warlordgorgutz1

The three villains were from Krypton. Superman tricked them by taking away their powers instead of giving up his powers to save Lois.

  • Nice right hook by Lois Lane!

  • Have you ever seen the Richard Donner cut of this movie? It is sooo much better. They cut out all the stupid garbage, add better scenes, a better ending, and change gay shit like this scene into a much better, and more realistic scene. It's beautiful.

  • And Margot Kidder's face was never the same.......

  • love when he shakes his head.

  • love the part when he squeezes zods hand followed by the theme tune.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLO :) SUPERDUBERMAN

  • Chris Reeve is the MAN!!

  • Superman trolled them so hard

  • superman is the antichrist

  • The female villain played my mum in a theatre tour. She was also in V.

  • 0:53 nice biceps

  • Love it!

  • Kuwait's right! Beautiful:) * جميل الشر له يوم سوبارمان قاهر الاشرار

  • Violence isn't great, you douchebag.

  • pain in the neck -KER PUN-

  • That was the greatest scene ever.

  • 0:47 easy win

    1:12 best death ever

  • Nobody talks about how they just murdered three people lol.

  • Zod is fucking lucky he didn't ask Superman to blow him, or he'd have lost something more painful than his hand.

  • @salamirterra LMAO! A Kryptonian cockmeat sandwich... with extra mayo.

  • in one alternate version zod ursa and non did not die

they got arrested by ice patrol along with lex luthor

in the richard donner cut all three returned back to the phantom zone.

  • This is the best superman ever and perhaps moment. I love the colors and characters. Perhaps they should just go back to the same formula and stop suing all the cgi crap.

  • I swear, every time Zod says his own name in the movie, he creams in his jumpsuit.

  • @Matu5e

He creamed his jumpsuit when he got a 50,000 lbs hand shake...

  • This moment is awesome but does it have THE RINGS?

  • Im the goddamn Superman! ..102

  • I love that Terrance Stamp became Jor-El's voice in Smallville lol

  • .46 aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! LMFAO!

  • I would love to have the Terrance Stamp commemorative stamp

  • 1:01 all he is thinking is "bitch, I am superman"

  • It's CM Punk!

  • I LOVE this scene. Ever since I was a kid. It was the part that made me cheer.

  • @Raider768 me too its my fave, like good winning over your problems, ure problems seemed over bearing but God made a way:)

  • How dare he do that to Zod!!!

  • NEEEEIIIILLL

  • and that boys and girls is how scientology was invented

  • @GRRJayyy In this scene, are any of these actors/actresses scientologists?

  • "more dead people in the basement" LOL

  • 1:10 xD

  • Comment removed

  • "Oh my god"......"No, Zod"

  • Nomatter how invincible Batman fans think he is.At the end of the day he's still only human.

  • @Lightner445555555555 dawn TRUE!!!

  • 1:27 - Greatest line ever! XD

  • PLEASE type in GREEN LANTERN THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY it is the true story of how GEORGE LUCAS sent off duty CIA agents to threaten my Mother with guns please check it out thanks

  • TAKE MY HAND AND MAKE ME YOUR BITCH SUPERMAN 1 ZOD 0

  • Dumb *bleep* jumped right in the hole trying to fly :)

  • wouldent it be different if Lois and Lex got super powers after being exposed to the red lights? im just wondering what if there was some fairness to the whole thing, humans have no reaction to eather red or yellow sun light in the superman mythos.

  • @chran1138

That idea was explored in the critically acclaimed comic "All Star Superman". You have to check it out.

  • foi muito legal guando ele apertou a mao dequele cara!

  • I guess he wasn't...... *puts on sunglasses*....handy was he?

  • Great scene !!!! Even tho Superman had a lil Kryptonion pit sweat goin on. I still lovevit !!!

  • KNEEELLL!!!

  • HOW HORRIBLY CHEESY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Great Youtube updated again....This is gay.

  • Chuck Norris and Darth Vader at the same time said "MOST IMPRESSIVE".

  • its funny as hell when zod curls into a shrimp as superman picks him up

  • Actually, I assumed beforehand Superman rigged the Fortress of Solitude bottom with portals which sent the Kryptonian criminals back to the Phantom Zone.

  • Thats just great, more dead people in the basement.

  • @SirGunishment - actually though not in most cuts, there is an extended scene where you see the villains being escorted away by some troopers as if they just fell down somewhere and were trapped. I think it was a tv version of the film.

  • @SirGunishment He'll fly down there latter and zap them with his laser eyes into dust.

  • So Supes and Lois are murderers, yay!!

  • @BricktownBubba - self defense, never mind the crimes the trio of villains committed. I'd say what the trio got was pretty lenient...

  • Yep, yep, it was. And is.

  • That was some punch she got off..

  • I bet they woke up more evil then some now and days that they was born with naturally dark hair lolx....... All Hail Dark Horse Comics that's the new thing now and days......

  • What garbage!!

  • @leondelafonte Really??? Well this begs the question; if you dislike Superman; why are you here when 99.5% of us here do? However if you like Superman; but hate this scene; tell us how you would have re-written or re-shot this scene from the highest money making and most beloved film in the history of the franchise? You must be a pretty awesome filmmaker if you can criticize Richard Donner with the word "Garbage"! Even the bravest professional critics don't go that far!

  • @zenjim007 Ahh...it's everything. The over acting (especially Lois argh). The crappy dialogue (maybe for its time it was pretty great), today, it's just doodoo.

And the way the story just wraps itself up in ONE tiny little bow in just 30 seconds. No big climax, no massive event, just superman throws one guy down the well and the other two just quickly fall in.

I saw all these movies as a kid and LOVED THEM, but watching them again I can't help face palm at how shitty they really are.

  • @leondelafonte Hmmm...well; I'll admit Margot Kidder wasn't the greatest Lois; but I don't understand your take on everything else. The point was clearly made that Superman needed to use strategy to defeat his opponents and I thought it was quite clever how he used Lex Luthor's deviant nature against him and his opponents to turn the tables; and so did everyone who watched it. As far as flushing them and Lois knocking the last baddy; I was ok with that; good riddance!

  • @zenjim007 Yeah, but the climax was far too quick and convenient. That's just bad writing. It's always bothersome to me when a story has that movie ending where the biggest problem in the world is suddenly righted and everything is all smiles and hunky dory in the end.

Like the whole movie's events didn't have much of an aftereffect on things. Life isn't like that, movies shouldn't be either.

  • @leondelafonte As for the first part of your reply; you have to remember that this was already a fairly long movie and the struggle was already between opposing forces was quite lengthy as it was; the producers needed to bring closure to the conflict so there was room for the ending. Your looking for something deep and spiritual and a comic book story maybe the wrong place to begin with for you. For you maybe a movie like "Ten Years In Tibet" or "Memoirs of A Geisha" would be more meaningful.

  • I always thought wouldnt this make a great comeback movie ie. luther digs up their frozen bodies some years later and finds a way with kryptonite to bring them back to life and have power again! alas this storyline never happened and seemed be so obvious!! and more realistic compared to nuclear man in superman IV!!

  • And in Nolanverse Bane will be more than a stupid mindless thug thats ivys bitch, he will be a tactical genius like in the comics...so what if its not campy and comic accurate, that wouldnt be as uique as these films which might I add are the highest grossin and best recieved comic book movies of all time! and will be the first superhero trilogy to be good all around!( Spiderman and Spidey 2 were good but three failed miserably, same can be said with x-men and the original Bat films)

  • "HAHAHA we just murdered 3 people Lois! For Truth & Justice!"

  • @eobb1 I know, I thought the same thing.

But seriously, if you had just thrown hitler down a well and your girlfriend chucked eva braun after her, wouldn't you be really happy and cheerful?

  • @tikletik Happy and good riddance; nobody misses terrorists and murderers except idiots and people who worship psychopaths.

  • @eobb1 How do you figure murder in this scene? Obviously you weren't paying close attention to what been going on. Did you notice they have kidnapped his love and are threatening to crush her throat? Perhaps you missed the fact that the first thing this trio did; was murder American astronauts! How about assaulting The President Of The United States and making themselves dictators; not to mention the mass destruction of Metropolis! Superman did what anyone would have done in a 3 against 1

  • @zenjim007 Just because THEY were murderers doesn't excuse killing them.

You probably think the electric chair or capital punishment in general is a humane punishment.

  • @eobb1 Man you are just cracking me up here; I laughed so hard from your reply! Are you serious!??? I guess you cried big tears for Bin Laden too huh? Obviously you think terrorist should be treated like there is a possibility for reform. I wont waste time with that; however consider the story; Superman lost his powers temporarily; but got them back; now consider he lets these three go and they...later on get their powers back;...what do you suppose will happen now!!! EXACTLY!!!

  • @zenjim007 But illegally entering a country and murdering bin laden and dumping his remains WAS WRONG.

  • @eobb1 They sought out one of the most notorious terrorists in history since Hitler himself. The soldiers sent out on this mission could not bring him back alive without compromising their safety. Illegally entering a country??! How do you figure?...Be serious!.., this was WAR!!! Unless you were living in cave at the time; he ordered the biggest, most cowardly attack on The United States Of America since Pearl Harbor! I am sick and tired of people whining about rights of terrorists!

  • show this to anyone who says Superman is dumb and cannot stratagise

  • @227060 Their is nothing remotely dumb about Superman. The legend establishes Superman has the power of instant recall. He has the genes of Kryptons most brilliant scientist. For those who weren't paying close attention; remember that for 12 years of his life; Clark would receive the highest form of education from Kryptons greatest scientist along with the vastly superior combined knowledge of the 9 worlds of the Krypton's solar system; which would include military strategy and tactics too.

  • @zenjim007 ontop of that he is a pulitzer winning journalist in the worlds top newspaper so he can't be accused of being an idiot. sure Batman is probably the superior stratagist and scientist overall but too many ppl see Superman as this dumb blunt instrument

  • I've always thought Zod's reaction was the best!! haha!! Not so tough now, are ya? ;-)

  • Did they die?

  • @JWFernel I always thought they did, but Superman, according to this one book I read once, made a vow never to end a single sentient life and would renounce his powers if he ever did. Either this version was different and he made an exception, or maybe the Phantom Zone villains survived in the Fortress but were trapped there in a sort of prison.

  • @OneWeirdDude

I remember that in the TV version they're shown being led away by the police, but I guess I've always been unsure on the intent of the director for the theatrical release.

  • @OneWeirdDude Just like Batman doesnt kill but in Burtons batman films Bats put a bomb in a mans oants and throws him down a sewer hole and blows up the Ace chemicals plant killing probably thousands of people. Some people arent fans of Nolans Bat films for "Realism" but I personally love this Nolanverse, he ac tually follows batmans rules of No killin, The villains are actually badass (Neeson as ras, Ledger as Joker and hardy will be as Bane), Gordon is an actual character like comic version...

  • @Bobbybillybillbob I don't really get Burton films, but all the directors and camera guys I've met love his stuff with a passion. Maybe that's cause I'm not in film or tv.

  • @tikletik Your not alone; I always thought Burton films were abstract like 1960s beat poetry,LSD and Warhol art. That's pretty typical these days; for people to say they like something that is said to be dark or abstract; it makes them feel more in vogue and unique. I for one view it as the kid in the story; "The Emperor's Clothes". I'm not afraid to say he's naked or abstract beat film is a pile of crap;...however to each his own.

  • 0:47 THE END OF THE BAD IN THE WORLD...

  • Oh HELL yeah! I've always loved this scene!!!

  • looks like a school play

  • 0:59 * sweaty armpit*

  • 0:50 "NOOOOO THATS MY WANKING HAND"

  • you nerds

  • 1:00...since when has clark ever sweated?

  • anyone think its odd that they all just fell anti-climatically to their deaths... they make it seem like the next time sups comes back to the fortress their frozen bodies will just be chillin down there, like falling through the fog was enough closure for these villians that together were 3x superman's equal and almost conquered the world enslaving all of man kind.... idk, just seemed odd the last time i watched it. must just be one of those 70/80s things

  • does general zod remind anyone of ras al ghul or is it just me

  • No ONE CAN DEFEAT SUPERMANU DUMB BASTARD

  • @TheStageight Well yeah but I would certainly have trouble with it.

  • @TheStageight DOOMSDAY DID

  • @TheStageight Are you new in the comics world? Superman is overrated. Kryptonite. Even Krist Angle the Mind freak magician can kill him!

  • @OTAKUJHE

Who the hell is this Krist Angle? Is he anything like Chris Angel?

  • Yes! This is the Greatest moment in the Superman fanchise.

  • @cullen0420 No kidding, especially when Lois punched Ursa in the face. :)

  • Cousin of the Son of Jor-El. Kneel before Cheese71!!!

  • lol. I haven't seen these movies since I was a kid. That's Louis who just murdered the kryptonian woman right? I'm sure she had it coming, but you wouldn't see murder like that these days. As a kid I shrugged it off. bad guys and good guys killed each other.

  • @waldoman7 Superman and Lois didn't murder the villains. They cut out the scene at the end when they got arrested, it's on the DVD, though.

  • Before the movie 300 there was this epic bottomless-pit-defeat.

  • 29 accounts made by Lex

  • I love how Non and Ursa just stand there like 'holy shit'!

  • @CrimsonAssassin999 If she is depowerd Ursa seems to be a little woman, with a fetish-complex...

  • "you know something?you are a real pain in the neck!" to Ursa. today people would say....whassup bitch get the fuck outta ma way!the times has changed even movies too!

  • I love the look at 1:03.

Zod: You're pissed right now, aren't you?

    Superman: ....Not at all.

  • Man, his hand probably hurt for a while after that. Or did the bones get crushed to dust?

  • Ultimate "Gotcha!" Ha!

  • Zod for President!

  • ugghh I hated the sound effects at 0:47 i got grossed out

  • Keep pressing 5! ZOD "O" FACE! :D

  • Superman never kills his enemies- I do not understand why he would do what he did to General Zod. I thought he would just force him to surrender and admit what he had done to all the people was wrong.

  • @JLC31383 Zod escaped the Phantom Zone, he is a high criminal that deserved to die!

  • @rad4life1 I know he died because they had to kill off the villain at the end (since it was not Lex Luthor who is a regular human being). I just think it is weird that Superman actually killed him like he did- General Zod had become an ordinary man before that was done. I assume they all three died because there was no use for them to be used in future sequels whereas Lex Luthor always could be brought back for something new. He was originally intended for yet another return in "Superman III".

  • @JLC31383 No I think it had to do with the fact that these three were completely unable to rehabilitate which is why they were sent to the P.Z. in the first place. True they were stripped of their powers but remember that they have superior knowledge and knowledge is power. And in the wrong hands that power could be used to harm many more lives. On Krypton there is no death penalty hence the P.Z. On earth there is so in a sense Superman used that resource showing just how human he is.

  • @WRK004 They just say that Superman is the one superhero who will not kill unless it is some alien monster. Superman would only kill guys like Brainiac & Darkseid. He always spares Lex Luthor because he is a regular human being. Speaking of superior knowledge being great power- that is exactly what he has as he is smarter than everyone on Earth. That is why he has been chosen as the archnemesis for someone as powerful as the Man of Steel- it would take a super genius to stop an unbeatable being.

  • @JLC31383 Exactly and why have four with this type of knowledge rather than one? Ok maybee Non could be counted as not posessing superior knowledge but that is another matter. However like Superman what if they found a way to restore their powers? I doubt that they would fall for the same trick twice. Superman eliminated this threat the best way he could. Regardless of the reasons it is a decision I'm sure he came to not too lightly. So IMO I saw this as the only way to be 100 percent sure.

  • @WRK004 I do not think they should not have killed off General Zod, Ursa, and Non- I just think it is strange that Superman actually took Zod out himself like he did. Non fell to his death by accident unaware he could no longer fly whereas Ursa was just knocked out of the way by Lois Lane and also fell to her death. I just know Superman has only actually killed Doomsday because he was a dangerous monster that killed anybody that got in his way- no other enemy has been fought to death like that.

  • @WRK004 I totally agree and mentioned simular elsewhere; Superman had to use the best strategy available in order to prevail over the three. Putting them in prison would have allowed a chance for there powers to re surface and as stated, they wouldn't fall for the same scheme twice. Had their powers returned to them; they would have wreaked more chaos and carnage then they had before on the world; just to get back at Superman! Obviously Superman used the only choice available to him.

  • @JLC31383 no batman is the smartest man on earth. he outsmarts lex alllll the time. such a batfanboy

  • @sjconker64 Batman does not even exist in the old movies with Christopher Reeve.

  • @sjconker64 How do you figure Batman is smartest man on Earth; He is a millionaire playboy; who was born we the silver spoon in his mouth. His education is no better than any other rich kid in The United States. Also he is just a human being. Superman genes are from an advanced civilization eons beyond ours; and his is the son of their greatest scientist. Superman's education was compiled of 12 years of studying the knowledge of the 28 known galaxies! Superman makes Batman look 1st grade!

  • That look on Non is just priceless. 0:52

  • Sigh.. Deus Ex Machina

  • @まんt す、、、、すわってました・・・・・

  • no one beats the classic!!!

  • it'd be better if she said 'pain in my ass'

  • I remember seeing this movie on television years ago.

On TV, when the super villains first land on earth,

and find themselves in a small town, there was this

scene, now not found on the dvd : Ursula points at

this kid, and lifts him into the air, and then drops him.

And this earthling looks at her and says, He was just

a boy. And she says, Now he will not be a man... I

guess somebody decided to delete that scene, remove

    it from the dvd release.

  • They just killed 3 people.

  • @charmander4533 No they didn't. One fell in on his own and the other two were slime that got flushed.

  • lois in these movies reminds me of karen in the office

  • R.I.P Chris.

  • Best casting ever all around.

  • three people dead...*HEROIC MUSIC* xD

  • @AustriaDictator Why are some of you people crying for these terrorists? Good riddance!

  • Imma let you finish Zod but Kal-El is the greatest hero of all time.

  • Crushing. Even Lois Lane gets in a good shot.

  • King Zod !!!

  • Itd be cool if did that to candyman
