  • Iight good looks stay up.

  • Son I just got a long tentecle anemone for my tomato,I can't bring the anemone to his bed cuz the anemone is in a giant base rock what should I do ? Lol

  • @ferb2300 All you can do is be patient. Try always feeding near the Anemone and hope for the better. Good luck.

  • You know your attracted lmfao

  • @ferb2300 haaa haaa lol.

  • do you know how to makethe clown fish swim upand down, because mine is just swim straight

  • @andydo2007vietnam How do you make your clown fish to swims up and down motion ?because I have one that just swim foward.

  • @andydo2007vietnam I am a bit confused on your question because I cannot possibly make a clownfish swim how I want it to. This clownfish swims like this normally. There are other species of clownfish that swim a little differently but there is no way to make it swim a certain way buddy.

  • @newyorksteelo LOL so my clown was born this way.Anyway thank z

  • @andydo2007vietnam I guess :) There could also be some sort of disease preventing the clown from swimming properly maybe? Can you make a video of it?

  • @newyorksteelo sure i will do it and send you the link.

  • Cute mabey hes just light shy:) that's a great idea to put the anename where they r sleeping did that with my mocha clownfish ...LOVED IT

  • I see you have the purple tip anemone. i have a question what can i do to being back the color of the anemone because it gotten darker

  • @MrMcLovinthe Offer it intense light, keep it out in the open, and feed it mysis shrimp daily. In 2004, I was able to bring back a bleached sebae anemone to health by doing this, but it took 6 months before I started to see brown patches developing within the anemone. In a year, the anemone was a tan color with a nice green hue to it. BTW, I was able to do this with power compact fluorescent lighting :) Good luck!

  • Hi Steelo, first off, love all your vidz, been very beneficial to me! Here's my question on youre opinion........I was thinking of the same approach to get my perc to host my anemone. he currently hosts and sleeps near the bottom of the tank but its in the back corner under a ph as well. Im confident if i put my anemone there he'll take to it, but once the symbiotic relationship is formed do u think I can then move the anem to a visually appealing spot in the front and the clown will follow?

  • @10thgen Not a good idea to move the animal again, because doing so may stress it out to the point that it will float around the tank endlessly or continuously move around the tank and may end up in your power head shredded to pieces.

  • @newyorksteelo That was kind of my thought as well. seems to have worked out ok anyways. placed the anemone in back corner of the tank and about an hour after the lights went out my clown was in it. two days later now and the anem must have wanted to get a little better flow so he climbed 1/4 way up the tank and anchored in the corner, really nice spot for viewing!! :) thanks for the tip, love watching them interact!

  • @10thgen Nice! Love to hear success stories man, especially via the use of one of my videos. Thanks for sharing that. Now lets hope the anemone stays put!

  • Thanks for the tip ny...my maroon slept in the same corner and i put it there, now he is brushing it with his tail..

  • @mbarhum Awesome. Great to hear success stories :)

  • I have had my Occelaris clown for about 2 weeks..he is from the ocean but will not even look at the sebae anemone...wondering if anemone is to small, he is a good sized fish, I will see where he is sleeping..maybe titus and fuji will be friends!

  • @christybell93 If he is from the Ocean (wild caught as opposed to captive raised) he should come around and start to get near it slowly until they form the symbiotic relationship. Mine as you see here took almost 8 months before it happened. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress :)

  • U the man ny

  • yes hi i was wondering i have a occelaris clownfish and a sebae anemone i had him for 5 days and i saw at night that my clownfish will sleep right next to the power head so i pointed the power head to the anemone so do u think he will go in the anemone

  • @gorman450 This will not do the trick. You must bring the anemone to the clownfish, but in this case, if the clown sleeps on the surface and near the powerhead, this approach will not work. This will only work if the clown sleeps near the sand and you bring the anemone to its sleeping spot. Good luck.

  • yes hi i was wondering i have a occelaris clownfish and a sebae anemone i had him for 5 days and i saw at night that my clownfish will sleep right next to the power head so i pointed the power head to the anemone so do u think he will go in the anemone

  • Yes! This worked for me! Thank u! i have tried a lot of methods but this one was the best! I snuck up on my clown last night and he was loving the anemone! It took him about an hour to start hosting the anemone after i put the anemone were he would always sleep. THANK YOU! :)

  • @FishyDrizzy Awesome. If it worked for me it can very well work for you. Keep up the great work :)

  • Will clowns host long tentacle or Condylactis?

  • @testarosa101 It's possible, and I have seen it done personally, but the clowns would much rather have an anemone that lives in the same region as the clowns you obtain. Good luck.

  • Hey steelo, Are you ever worried the anemone will go into your mp40? It looks like you have a beautiful collection of coral. Has the anemone ever stung your corals?

  • @hando562 Yes on both but no at the same time. Please visit my video called "Rose Bubble Tip Anemone Care" to find the answers you seek. I cover all these subjects in detail on that video :)

  • do you think the picture thing works? Like putting a picture up on your tank of a clownfish hosting a anemone? I heard that sometimes works.

  • @FishyDrizzy No lol.

  • @newyorksteelo its actually working tho. ha they are getting really close to it, way closer than they have ever gotten to it.

  • @FishyDrizzy If it happens, it will be cause it was meant to be, not cause of the picture lol.

  • Both of my true percula clowfish sleep at the top corners of the tank and i cant get my anemone all the way up to the corner. Do u have any ideas on how to do it, or get the clownfish to sleep in another spot???

    thanks

  • @FishyDrizzy I have a video on how to easily detach the anemone from the rock that contains the answers you seek.

  • @newyorksteelo ya, i watched that already but would my anemone stick to the glass up high in the tank? ha thanx! :)

  • @FishyDrizzy Your anemone will stick anywhere. You have to be careful doing this cause the anemone might end up in your power head. Be patient and wait it out. It took 9 months for my clowns to take to the anemone in my 90g system so expect to be patient.

  • @newyorksteelo okay thanks! oh and are sebaes good for true perculas? i have done some research but i get a lot of different answers. ha

  • @FishyDrizzy Should be fine. As you can see from this video, my clown loved this anemone.

  • Ive read on live aquaria that sebaes are difficult to keep, and i was planning on getting one, but one quick question is, what makes a sebae so hard to keep?

  • @70gallonfishtank I have a video called "Rose Bubble Tip Anemone Care" that covers the answers you seek :) All anemones are difficult to keep but if you follow my recommendations in that video, you cannot go wrong. Good luck.

  • ok i have a clarkii with a lta and i have had the anemone for about a week now and my clarkii has touched it a little once but other than that he doesnt fuck with how long could it take? does it just vary? is it normal

  • @kd3 It depends. If the clown fish is a wild caught specimen, and you acclimated him properly, it should jump right in there. If the clown was not properly acclimated, it could have lost its slime coat and when it tried to get in there it most likely got stung. Could be a possibility here since you mentioned it is a new addition. If the clown is captive bread, man, it could take for ever, I have had anemones and clowns that did not form the symbiotic relationship for 8 months to over a year.

  • So is it better to get wild ones?

  • @CrazyFishFreak Yes and no. Yes because it will readily dive into the anemone, and no because wild caught clowns die a lot easier than tank raised clowns. Either way you go, you can be successful but you have to weigh in your options. Wild caught clowns are also more expensive. The choice is yours. Good luck.

  • i have two tank raised clowns one will host the anenome and the other stays away..lol not sure what that is all about when the one clown isnt in the anenome tthe two clowns stay together but as soon as the one clown goes to the ane....the other backs off...any comment on y that mite be?

  • @chadly969 Most likely, the clown in the anemone is chasing the other away during the night hours. These fish have personalities and their behavior is sometimes unknown to even us. Good luck.

  • What type of light should I get to have a BTA? ( 20 gallon long tank ) :) Thanks.

  • @mannny37 Intense lighting is best. If T5's I would go for 5 watts per gallon, or better yet, metal halides but with metal halides you need a chiller. Please watch my video on "Reef Aquarium Lighting" to learn more on this subject.

  • Yes, that event was great! Hey I have an 8 gallon saltwater tank with 2 corals, 1 feather duster, 1 anemone, cleaning crew (shrimp, snails, crab), 1 ocellaris clown, gobi and fire fish. So far all is great, I'll post a video soon so you can see it and definitely give me your input. Like I said I'm very new to this world and I really want to learn and one day be able to have a nano reef like yours ;). Peace!!!

  • @Bassesplyr Thanks, and welcome to the hobby :)

  • I cannot tell you how much I've learn from your videos. I gotta hand it to you man, you raised the bar!!! FYI I am new to the aquarium world and hoping to get a 50 gallons set up soon :D. Keep up the good work..

  • @Bassesplyr Awesome post, and thanks for your words of encouragement. I just visited your channel and watched the video on the Mercedes AMG, WOW! pure power. I first saw these cars when watching American Chopper and man are these cars awesome. Thanks again. Many more videos to come and if you decide to upload videos on your new build let me know so i can be your first viewer.

  • what does it mean when they host? What happenes?

  • @termonator001 Anemones eat fish and sting fish with their tentacles in order to trap the fish and bring it into it's mouth. Clown fish are one of the only fish that have a slimy coat in their body that protects them from the anemones sting. Both animals from a symbiotic relationship where the clown feeds the anemone and the anemone protects the clown fish from predators. Its one of the best aspects of this hobby. Check out some of my other videos and subscribe. I release videos weekly.

  • @termonator001 in "hosting", the fish and anemone live together for mutual advantage. like Newyorkstello said, they feed and protect each other. When I stick my hand in the tank near my carpet leather, the ocelaris pair attack it like an enemy! they like their privacy.

  • Good luck! I had an anemone with my clowns for over a year and never had any luck. Hope yours works out.

  • @javier91782 He is deep in there today. Hopefully the anemone does not try to move and mess it up for the clown. Thanks.

  • @newyorksteelo what kind of anenome

  • @saltwaterfishguy427 Seabae anemone.

  • ur so lucky, mine havent touched anything....wait that toadstools polyps are out at night?

  • @ryjack26 Not exactly. Usually the polyps stay extended up until about 1 AM and then hide out till morning time. Sometimes they stay opened all night. I guess it depends on how the coral is feeling lol. As for the clown hosting the anemone, I have had nikey for about a year and this is the first time he takes to an anemone. I also moved the anemone to where nikey sleeps to encourage hosting.

  • Well i have a Clown that also raised in tank. hes always on the side swimming. i thought he will be swimming everywhere. But i might get a ANEMONE....

  • @2424Anthony Even if tank raised they still host anemones in time. good luck if you get an anemone.

  • hey jay, i have just recently used the new iphone 4 and the viedography on it is amasing, you can adjust the macro any time during the recording of the viedo, they are great. I got a cupple new additions: pink base/fluro green stem acro, 2 carpet anenomes and a new bta, im just waitin for my female clown with her two paired males to host them. thanks for the vid, good luck

  • @31668999 But what is the video resolution on the new iphone? is it HD?

  • yes

  • my tank raised clowns dont take kindly to my 3 condi nems. :(

  • @TheWarOrphan How long has it been since you had the clowns and the anemone in there? It takes time and patience for it to happen if the clowns are tank raised. I have had nikey for about a year and this is the first time he takes to an anemone.

  • @TheWarOrphan and they probably won't, Condylactis have a more powerful sting than most anemones and they are not really native to the same areas where you will find clowns. Very seldom will a clown take to them and when they do are usually skunk clowns (and more often the orange than the pink) they have even been known to eat clowns as they have a pretty serious appetite for such a small critter

  • @dellovad Nonsense, go and check out my 90g system which has a condy and 2 clownfish hosting it.

  • That's great , good plan please keep them coming lol, were all bad about fish tanks lol

  • @dm002a8686 Thanks, will do.

  • Another awesome video man. Nikey is looking great, can't wait to see him hosting the nem.

  • @truestar92 Thanks. He is already in there like there is no tomorrow lol. About time he takes on the anemone.

  • nice to see him hosting it

  • @geemanreefer I just checked the tank and he is in in the anemone rocking back and fourth like a baby in a mothers arms lol. thanks for the comment.

  • I wish you could visit that petco, so you can give these aholes a few lessons lol

  • @sputnik790 Believe me man I know what you mean. they have quite a few petcos out here that use these practices in marine aquariums.

  • Funny because I have a clarkii clown that hosts my flower pot coral but I can never get it on camera because as soon as I walk towards the tank he swims to the top thinking it's feeding time. When the lights are off in the tank the polyps on the coral are retracted and my clarkii just sleeps on the exoskeleton lol

    Great vid!!

  • @trackwalker Yeah, it can be tricky to catch them which is why I captured it during the night hours. lol @ sleeping on the exoskeleton lol. Weird man but nonetheless, nature at it's best.

  • Theres nothing like a clown and its anemone! Looks great. Saw the earlier update and love how the corals and reef are coming along. Your lucky the Petco near you has saltwater fish, if your careful you could get some stuff for pretty cheap.

    -SunnyCA

  • @TheSunnyCAReef I completely agree. They are a large company with many stores and because they buy by the bulk, their prices are really cheap compared to single live fish stores. Thanks for watching.

  • @newyorksteelo Maan, when i walk in my local petco, i have tears in my eyes, all fishes got Ich, look sick, pale, skinny, barely moving... and they still talk to me like i'm lacking experience in this hobby... get the F out a here

  • @sputnik790 I hear you man. they do not pay well to their employees and hence employees that know the saltwater hobby quit and the systems end up in the hands of newwbies.

  • Awesome, you should post a video describing something more about the anemones you have. What are the does and dont's and I really concerned to get my first anmeone since my uncle got an anemone in his pump strainer and killed so far his whole tank livestock that was in it. I love the symbiotic relations and they are so beauty so please share with your new HD cam the beauty of those animals and tell the beginners what they have to look for. Also I'm really interested in how do you feed your ans!

  • @PSXerholic Sounds like a good plan PSXerholic. I will sure make this video sometime down the road. Maybe when i get the Rose Bubble Tip for the 90g system I will make a do's and dont's video as well as care and feeding. More videos to come.

  • About time Nikey!!!

  • @johnysasha87 Seriously man, tell me about it lol.

  • Hhahaha.... CONGRATS!!!!!!! Finally

  • @sputnik790 Yeah man, its about time. It's been more than 6 months and he never touched 3 anemones I added for him.
