How do you guys know that Locks of Love sells the hair for money? How do you know it's a fraud? I'm not trying to say you're wrong, I just want to know WHY it's bogus :-)
I realized after watching the hole video, thank you.
This really bring girls down, it's so sad, but it's sad because many guys including myself don't care about hair, a shaved head or short hair girl is as attractive as a girl with long hair, it's just like when them think of themselves fat or something, when they are not, it's just a complex, I mean who would abandon the love of your life for some hair, I think them should be rather be conciliated rather than wearing wigs, it's not comfortable.
I know someone who has benefited by someone donating their hair, her body attacked the gene that produces hair so she's pretty much hairless everywhere. Thank you for your help.
some used to be free, he was injured, she was orphaned, big cat rescuse, helps them,he was given,a second chance, she was given hope.all of these things, are possible.thanks to you. --from big cat rescue 2008

Locks of Love is a scam. They don't meet the Better Business Bureau's Standards for Charity Accountability. They have stated that they collect around 2000 ponytails a week, that's over 100,000 ponytails a year. They say it takes 6 to 10 ponytails to make one wig. If we say 10 that would be over 10,000 wigs per year. The have been in business since 1997 and have only made over 2000 wigs in over 10 years. Less than 1% goes to alopecia patients (NOT cancer patients) and even that has to be paid.

Jessica - you're a great person all around; caring for animals AND people! And that's a description that applies to only a handful of folks out there! Way to go! I bet your hair helped to make a child very happy =]
Jessica; You are an amazing lady;kindness in abundance is what you have....i think you are all fantastic;but this comment is specifically for you..i hope that she is feeling a little better;she must be so proud of you.
This is a very nice video. What a caring thing to do, donating hair. I love the black leopard, too! OMG he's beautiful! You guys are so lucky to work with these BIG CATS!
Hi. I volunteer at Big Cat Rescue. Jumanji, the black leopard in the video, has a good-sized enclosure (not sure of the square footage, but I'm guessing it's as big as my 2BR/2BA apartment). What is shown in the video is kind of like a bay window in a house -- the lower part is a den box and the mound on top is a place where he likes to sit and watch the world go by. It sticks out from the main enclosure, which you can't see in the video. Thanks for caring about his living conditions!
MelMovieLover09, Scott is our operations manager. He does everything. He gets up in the wee hours to move the daily diet for the cats out of the freezer and into the walkin cooler and gets it ready for the food prep crew. He not only overseas everything he participates in everything. There is not enough space here to list everything he does.
That's great, what a wonderful thing to do! I wanted to donate my hair too when I cut it off but they don't accept coloured treated hair so I was unable to. I'm sure someone will be very grateful!!!
CattyCatRanch, a few different folks do them. Brian did them for a long time, then he got married and moved away (we miss him). Now a young man named Chris does many of them. They both have a good creative eye (and ear). We are blessed and thankful to have them devoting their talents to the cats here. did you see the Bobcat Surgery one from yesterday. I loved what Christ did with that one. I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the cage remodeling part came on.

How long does a wig with real hair last? Doesn't it dry out and just die a while after being cut off?
DaishiX 3 years ago
Hair is already dead skin cells humane biology 101. I'd think the wig would be stronger than holding on to a folicle.
