Pretty good man, only thing i have a question about is it says how to start off.. but i notice you are gettin neighbor deals early on in the vid, so u seem to have some cities already built in the region, do you have any vids of you starting a fresh region instead of a new city in an already thriving region?? i only watched a bit of it cuz i get the basic idea but i started playing 4 after playin the others for a while and still gotta learn how to get first part of region started off well.

you have bad zoning skills... Commercial establishments shouldnt be placed on the city rims... they most likely to develop on heavy traffic roads to have costumers.

and you shouldnt place the residentials beside the highway because of the traffic noise and pollution.

i just got this game. i'm wondering if you could give me some road tips. are all your roads green in the traffic filter? if so, how did you do it? i tryed using monorails, trains, and subways and nothing seems to free up certain red spots unless i go full blown avanue roads, something i don't want in my res area:(

Make sure that they cover the areas you need within their radius. Build a university when you can too and add a few extra museums. Lastly, you have to give it some time. They should get smarter in due time. :)

Tips to beginners :

You don't need any schools, hospitals or stations at the start. All you need is people, jobs, power and trash disposal. Somehow, an incenator will still work if you spend 0$/month on it. It just won't produce power.

Put pollution stuff FAR away from your residents.

You don't really need any commercial zones at the start, but you can prepare space for them. Like, build an avenue and leave the sides of it empty, connecting your residential areas to it with streets and stuff.

build one city for industries, ONLY industries, to produce energy and receive garbage...connect the residential/comercial city with the industrial one, and no problems with poluition at the residential one =).

you can't quite prevent that, you can just make the chance of having those smaller by really taking care of you neighbourhoods... tranport, water, safety, polution?, etcetcetc

well, all buildings will eventually turn brown. it depends on the wellfare in that small part of your city how quickly they will do so.

Normally those buildings are demolished after which new ones should be build... if this doesn't happen, destroy those buildings yourself.

If you have rush hour, you need 26,000 residents for your city to get residential towers. If you have the standard SC4 then you need 60,000 residents.

The zones where towers develop have to have room for 2x3, 2x4, 3x4 or 4x4 buildings. Water said zones and make sure that traffic isn't too high around them. Wait and they should grow.
