  • this is the worst gay porno ive ever seen!!!!!

  • I can't believe that nobody digs this guy's old shit besides me?

  • @bikolee : i like his stuff: this, 'Europa and the pirate twins', 'she blinded me with science'... Don't forget he produces Prefab Sprout and was guess both on Bowie's Live Aid performance and 'The Wall live in Berlin', by Roger Waters & Friends...

  • Thomas es un genio que no ha sido reconocido como tal. Excelente compositor, tecladista y arreglista. Con su peculiar voz le da ese toque perfecto al Synth-Pop.

  • happy birthday thomas :) thanks

    hope you are doing well

  • coooooooooL__________

  • I just love the piano in this song, gives the song such a dream quality.

  • also a legndary classic 80's song

  • Beautiful song ever!!!

  • The genius at work on the keyboards! One of the dopest ever!

  • Brilliant, talented and is living well beyond age 27. That there IS some VooDoo!

  • This guy was years ahead of every other performer in the early eighties

  • SUCH and undervalued talent. This guy has always amazed me.

  • masterpiece

  • This is so sexy.

  • I remember the days of Toronto's CFNY of the early 80s, when they used to play great music like this. all the time.

  • 5 people didn't know what to do with that voodoo.

  • where can I get an instrumental version of this about 2 hours long?

  • Great kid

  • the waitress looks like jonny greenwood !

  • First time I heard this I immediately went to the record store and bought it.

  • still amazing aftar all these years

  • has a new album out Oceanea

  • @rahjr65 Oceanea huh, gotta get it immediately. When i was a teen this guy was a tremendous influence on me like right next 2 Prince. I used 2 listen 2 his music 4 hours trying 2 figure out what he was doing in creating his sound. I used 2 go 2 book stores looking 4 anything I could get my hands on 2 read about what piece of equipment he was using. Nowadays, I look at him & think, "Damn, he's gotta be Elton Johns long lost illegitimate son." EJ needs 2 pay dat back child support 4 dat boy. LOL

  • as a new album out Oceanea

  • Lord I remember seeing him at Tower Records around it's opening about 81??? when he released his first hit album in the US. Got an autographed album. I was about 11? Sheesh long time ago. what ever happened to him?

  • bought this in Holland in 1984 too AND the extended 12 inch remix ofcourse ;=)

  • nah i prefered Dans version

  • Was lucky enough to see Tom on several occasions, but this song played at the Orange Club in London remains a highlight, complete with trombone solo. Smokey, dark and sleazy. Just as it should be. Total seduction.

  • @audiowriter

I'm so glad there are people who can appreciate his talents.

  • exquisitely intoxicating :D

  • why do i like this why am i getting paul draper of mansun from this, hmm this guy seems to have a genius air about him.

  • Great song...!

  • Find the original Dan Hicks version it's brilliant, this is good but in a different way.

  • fantastico 1985.......in Amsterdam

  • This song was so true for me a few time ago... then I realised this was too hard so I decided to be not scared anymore !

  • Is that La Bamba (Richie Rosenberg) on horns? :)

  • Not a bad conceit at all, to reimagine the arrangement as lounge . . . but it still misses Symphony Sid.

  • barrettes look so dorky - unless they're worn by a soldier.

  • What's with the hat?

  • The heat, the passion, bring on Penélope Cruz!!!

  • I LIKE

  • Interesting rendition and video but I've got to say I prefer Dan Hicks' original version . The piano figure and reharmonisation is quite nice though.

  • I wore out my 45RPM when I was younger.

  • A fantastic Singer and Composer. May he live forever!

  • haven't heard this for about 20 years, its gr8 !

  • this is sooooooooooo much better than the Dan Hick's version

  • couse the stars already crossed our path forever....

  • Music is fine...his voice isnt

  • A GREAT song! Thank you for posting and bringing back some great memories!

  • this was written by Dan Hicks, not Thomas Dolby.

  • @arcocelli

We know it's a Dan Hicks song. He received writing credit on the album, and it is well documented. This is the Thomas Dolby version.

  • @68404

reading through the comments, it seemed there were people that didn't know this, so I thought I would post it.

  • Flat Earth was an awesome album.

  • i love this tune.. the lyrics are breathtaking..

  • I scare myself when I'm without you

..but it's so very different when we're together

and I'm so much calmer, I feel better

'cause the stars already crossed our paths forever

and sooner that we realise it, the better

and than I'll be with you and I won't scare myself anymore..love you Lucien

  • one of his best songs

  • if she had braided eyebrows... weird?

  • Really love this song, always have. Video is a bit urgh. I always think, at the scene when the two are dancing and she lifts her arms to be caught... what if she hadn't shaved for a few days. Just one of those things I guess.

  • Hehe, 'urgh' the new standard in poor quality adjectives.

  • lol!!! you kill me

  • This is my favorite Thomas Dolby song. Spent many days listening on my Walkman, back in the day :)

  • really nice got this on 7 inch haven't played for years tho

  • He is an artist...

  • Great tune, written by Dan Hicks.

    see Wikipedia under:

    /wiki/Dan_Hicks_(singer)

  • @snoobeagle Just like Red Red Wine by Neil Diamond, this song wouldn't have ever been noticed if a better version hadn't come along. Although originally written by Hicks, this song is all Dolby with the passion he infused and piano he has added. Dolby does magic in turning a well written song that was being played by a musician in a genre that didn't do it justice into a masterpiece. I sincerely hope Hicks thanked Dolby for turning his average song into a thing of beauty.

  • no. 1

    t. dolby

  • I also scare myself with all the weirds post i put on other Thomas Dolby's remastered vids!
