No. Absolutely not. I had better never see a movie, cartoon, or other media tarnishing such a glorious collection of comics. Calvin and Hobbes were my and my little sisters' favorite two people regardless of the fact that it ended the year I was born.
I swear on my honor as a previous veteran member of G.R.O.S.S. by all the rules of Calvinball, that I will transmogrify anyone who tries to recreate C&H, into a can of tuna. And I know someone who loves tuna. Mr. Watterson? Just one more, please?
I love Calvin and Hobbes because it is about a kid who doesn't need anyone to be happy. All he needed was Hobbes and they were one the best pair of friends I have ever seen. Calvin and Hobbes will always be my favorite comic.
I seriously almost cried when I saw that picture of Hobbes with Calvin's daughter... It's so sad that Calvin grew out of Hobbes, but so happy that Calvin's daughter can now share the same adventures that Calvin did. :')
1985 to 1995? Wow,I had no idea I literally grew up with this comic, same dates of my entire childhood. All I remember of mine is the years of adventures after school inspired by this very comic. I never did knew where these came from and when and why they stopped. Now I know.... ::Cries::
It makes me cry at the sight of the end of Calvin and Hobbes because it is the best book I have and ever will read I hope it starts back up thank you Bill Watterson
The snowmen were my absolute favorite part of the Calvin and Hobbes comics. Typically they're supposed to be cute but Calvin twists them into morbid works of art that are ironically hilarious. XD
You have to give Bill Waterson a lot of credit for keeping his creation his own thing and not selling out like 99% of the writers/artists working today.
Why did it have to end? One of the greatest comics of all time, and then it's gone. To me the comics are currently garbage, except for pearls before swine, dilbert, get fuzzy and a few other exceptions.
@WIlliamMunnyOutlaw Because Bill Watterson felt that he had achieved and said all he could with the comic and that if he had continued eventually the fans would have wanted it to end.
well maybe they could've made an epic 2D traditional animated theatrical film about calvin and hobbes if it wasn't for that scott pilgrim crap got in their way.
i grew up with comics and tv. unlike kids today, i didnt have a cellphone when i was7 and a xbox when i was 9. this is still funny when i read my old calvin and hobbes comics.
@kelfern123 i did have a cellphone when i was 7 and i did have an xbox when i was 9, but these comics were also a great part of my childhood. so don't act better than "these damn kids today! blarg blurb hagalagadoodoo" or whatever.
I was working in a restaurant in the '80's when a friend introduced me to this comic strip. We read it daily and discussed it during work. It became part of our daily life, something fun to look forward to.
Then one day we learned Watterson was bringing it to a close. We couldn't believe it--it was like losing a dear friend.
We slowly read the last strip on a Sunday morning, then closed the paper, knowing an era had come to an end.
Calvin and Hobbes is an awesome comic strip. At 6 I had the same gift of seeing my golden retriever as a real dog. Everyone else saw a toy dog. That's how I was like Calvin growing up, because he saw Hobbes as real, although I was obedient.
why in the world did bill watterson stop making calvin and hobbes , i started crying to death when i found out ,,,,, and why did he not win the nobel price because that would have been awsome
@lovesubaru222 Bill felt he did everything he could. He didn't want it to become bland or commercialized, he was a true artist. He ended it as epicly as he could. With Calvin looking out side, saying, "Well, Hobbes ol' buddy, there's a world of adventure out there! Let's go!". It never truly ended. Calvin never got old, Hobbes never went away. It is very touching. He was the best artist of our time, a man who wasn't even try ing to be that. Just someone true to who he was.
@azraelangelofred I cannot like this comment enough. I've been honored to have Bill Watterson's creation in my life, and I think many people feel the same way. Always though, we must looks forwards but hold the memories of the past in the light. Life goes on and something new and just as good as before will come along.
This is really touching for me. You see my parents got me my first calvin and Hobbes book when I was eight and I immedently fell in lobe with it. Thank you for making this
@pianoboypiano Makes me sad, you know i cant say goodbye to calvin or hobbes i have all the comic books and i still read them, but everyhting good must come to an end :/

darckslaer 4 months ago 3
@darckslaer
Bill Watterson hadn't turned it into a cartoon because it would destroy the series, if you can't see that then I doubt you're a fan.
