  • great videos, I had my fare share of Osaka-ben from the police when skateboarding near Namba at night. They always come shouting "akan, akan, akan." to the guys I skate with but when they get there, they are actually very nice and joke around and chat for a little I hear a lot off "mecha" and "honma" I don't understand too much but it sounds interesting.

  • Your english is very good!

  • i have a question is yaro like the equivalent to ne?

  • @lisaluxury94 kind of, but ne is softer as a suffix. "yarone" is often used too. That means "(I) guess"

  • @lisaluxury94 another way to think of it is just the osaka version of "darou", just like the casual copula だ is often replaced with や

  • Dude, nice lesson! :)

  • うああああ!これやめっちゃ好きやねん!2005-2006年、大阪の箕面市にある大阪外大(今は合併して大阪大学になってちまった)で留学しとって大阪弁や関西弁に興味をそそられたんやで。レッソンだけじゃなくて、性格、態度と教育の熱意も素晴らしいで感想されてるんや。

  • @hardeep011 見て下さっておおきにありがとうございます!またビデオ上げたいと思っているので、よろしくお願いします^^

  • Your English is very good, not that much of an accent. Or was it your first language?

  • @EToastE Thank you! My first language is Osaka-ben^^

  • and if he's pissing in the street in stockholm, you say both

  • is "nen" like "na" ?all I heard in Osaka was naaaaa

  • @musicmelusine Briefly speaking, "na" is a soft ending. "Nen" is a bit more stronger than "na".

  • @onnaranma1228 Thanx ! Would okini be OK in that case ?

  • @musicmelusine Sure :)

  • へええー フィンランドに行った事があるの?

    ムーミンめちゃ好きやねん!笑

  • Aaah snuffkin!! I had a crush on him when I was a child ^w^ btw I love your videos!

  • @kungloui Haha jag älsker Snusmumriken och! Tack så mycket!

  • I just love that you used moomin and snuffkin in the beginning <3 My two childhood role-models haha! :'D

  • @Pesanteuse Hehe I got them in Helsinki, so they are genuine Scandinavians! :D

  • haha i love how you use the dolls to explain things in the beginning !!!

  • @melissa61436 hehe thanks melissa!

  • やろ=だろう?

and when you pronounce shi you eliminate the "i" sound ? to become wareterush?

  • @eyewitnessoflove Yes. But you don't necessarily have to eliminate the sound. It just depends on the person^^

  • I have been listening to japanese for a long time now and osaka dialect is by FAR my most favorite xD really really love your work.

  • @Iwokeupinacar That's great! Osaka-ben is cool, huh? ^^-☆

  • Lol I think you embarrassed Snuffkin xD But thanks for the vid. I never heard of the "shi" suffix before.

  • @narutosunny "Shi" is often used by young people. To many people maybe it's not formal enough to be in a textbook. But we actually often use it, so you'll get many chances to hear "shi". So though you ought to know :)

  • 分かりやすい~!(^。^)d

  • @bluewhiteapples 良かった!

  • ookini. sono lesson wa honma kakkoi ya. nihongo o mada benkyou shiteimasu. ga zettai kansai-ben o benkyou shitai (soushite sensei o bikkuri shitai hahaha)

  • @Kyubi095 Un, zehi kansai-ben benkyo-shite ya! Sensei mo zettai bikkuri surude~ :D

  • @onnaranma1228 Ee. Ganbaru ya!

  • Dude i love your videos. There isn´t a lot of videos in other bens except for the tokyo-ben. I also like that you explain in japanase, that´s great!. I´ll susbribe right now. Keep the good work!

  • @chilldude004 Thank you so much!^^

  • Don you have kanji for the suffixes?

    Can you write them, please?

  • @koisumaz2000 well I don't think we have kanji for them. we usually write them in hiragana

  • @onnaranma1228

I know Chinese and started studying Japanese some time ago. Most of the grammatical particles have their correspondence in Chinese, that's why I ask. Thank you!

  • Best examples ever! :)

  • @tropirei Thanks^^

  • moomin 好き!!!

  • @erriellemarie 俺も!

  • I love the moomin!! Super cute!!! <3

  • I like the bilingual videos. It helps practicing my Japanese listening :]]

  • @TheViewOfCalvin Good! That's the point of making it bilingual^^

  • haha, my name is Yan^^

  • @yanatsu02 yoroshiku!

  • Thank u for your lessons! very elucidative! And I love the examples... ^^

  • @peacefulsky1 haha, I'm glad that you like them!

  • Great vid!

And Finland yey! I'm from there xD

  • @iWatabaka Yay, I bought the dolls of Sunufkin and Mumin in Helsinki :) I like Finland very much!

  • You explain very very awesome! Domou arigatou for this!

  • @ilike3or4 Haha, kochirakoso arigatou^^

  • とても教育的で面白かった。僕は5年以上ずっと日本で暮らしているのに、日本地方それぞれの方言の知識が全然足りない状態。たまにしか東京を離れないというのが原因の一つだと思うけど、このビデオを見て方言を少しずつ学んでいこうと思うきっかけになった。ありがとうございます。

Jag ser att du pratar norska ocksa! Ar du i Norge eller i Japan?

  • @elektromanyaro ほんまに?そう言ってくれて光栄やわ。ぜひぜひ大阪弁をマスターしていってね! Jag pratar norska, ja. Men, jag är i Japan nu. Är du från Sverige?

  • Can this be used in Kyoto too?

  • @dreamchaser171 Yeah, almost no problem. But it's more common to use honoric form (keigo) in Kyoto. Keigo in Kansai-ben is like you say "〜はる" as ”〜らっしゃる”; e.g. 「何してはりますか?」 is 「何をしていらっしゃいますか?」

  • @onnaranma1228 ...Yep, I will fail. I am applying to doshisha. I am scared now :(

Are there many variations like this? I have to memorize them all right?

  • @dreamchaser171 At the admission or in your university life, Kyoto dialect doesn't really matter. It just always takes some time to get used to the locality. And yes, there are some variations in Kanasai-ben, but first begin with memorizing the simple words or differences from standard Japanese. Keep it simple, and it doesn't require you so much to do. So don't worry.

  • 大阪弁ってマジでおもしろい。本当に習いたい。でも、あたしは今上級日本語を勉強してるんだから、大阪弁を使ってしまったら、あまり良くないかも。 先生を怒らせる。>_<

  • @angellayer20 じゃあ標準語を使う先生を怒って下さいw

  • GREAT VIDEO! But you should put out HD vids. Your quality is great. So why not exploit your HD cam?

    そう言えば、 I got your pm.... 今日はちょっと忙しかった。返事を書けなくてすいませんでした。近いうちね。

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Yeah, I should make it using HD. It was just that I was not so tech-savvy :P

  • Nice lesson

  • @adshap8 thanks^^

  • Really educational, thanks for the videos! If I've got it right, "akan" is similar to "ikenai", and "yaro" to "daro" in hyoujungo?

  • @tyblazitar Yes, exactly! "Da" usually becomes "ya" in Osaka-ben. e.g. "Dattara" - "Yattara", "Dakara" - "Yakara" etc

  • Snufkin!! XD

  • @olenpieni From Finland, yeah!

  • Dette er veldig bra, Taka! Veldig interessant! (Og jeg elsker Osaka-ben!)

    Hilsen Michelle ;)

  • @mips15 Tusen takk, Michelle! Jeg er kjempeglad at du elsker Osaka-ben! Du kan også lære det fra 関ジャニ8 også lol
