this was a clear, concise video. the only part i don't understand, is why we need to use SwingUtilities? the app looks the exact same as before you used SwingUtilites.

@Janac When Sun introduced this change, as I remember they said that basically your application will be more stable if you do this. I've never detected any difference, but I figure it's best to take their advice. The SwingUtilities thing sets up some kind of special Swing event thread. They've never really been clear about the reasons behind it.

really excellent tutorial... i like that you explain each different component, and what each line of code does.... you're not just saying "you need to type this" you're saying "you need to do this because if you don't this'll happen... this line of code means meaning of line of code"... thanks :)

@retromelon123 Really glad you like the technique. I always hate it when you see a load of example code and it's completely unclear why it works, so I always try to build it up bit by bit.

That's what I imagine sound would be like in HD. There is just way too much going on. You can hear every mouse click and your watch rattle or something. Nice video but the sound is a bid hardcore.

@sebby007 Thanks for the feedback; you're totally right .... not sure what I can do though. Really I need a better microphone. For some reason this one actually sounds just a little distorted too --- I need to keep an eye on that.
