The first step is to get people to exercise their right to stop withholding. Then move it to that level. Most are too lazy. And they wouldn't save so would end up getting hosed.

How do you stop them from taking money out of your paycheck? I thought you had to fill out a form and be within a certain percentage or you get in trouble.

read the section of the law that is linked in the more info section. They can say all they want. They don't have any force of law that says they can take money out. You just have to put "exempt" and them either pay at the end of the year or quarterly. Or not pay at all. But personally It's like the mob. You pay so they don't beat you up.

I'm at the point in my life where the government just steals my money and then gives it back at tax time. I can't FATHOM filling out paper work and giving them more. I guarantee you this is something I will never do. I simply will not be able to justify it in my own head. Sitting there wasting my precious time filling out their pointless forms only to figure, oh...I owe them a fuckton more money. Guess I'll write a check for that.

Citizens dont have to pay taxes. citizens with a small c in front do. Thats how they fucked us, when we got our driver licenses and registered for the selective service, it stated on the form that we were 'c'itizens. So thats how they are playing the game. If you are fortunate enough to break your back in three places like I did, then you can collect disability which is tax free.

Sums up my feelings about this time of year exactly. Not only do I pay a tax that I don't owe as protection money to keep armed goons off of me, but EVERY YEAR, I get a bill from the IRS in the summer saying that I didn't pay enough, and I owe another $300-500. I had my bank account levied for $420. I was supposed to get a "stimulus" for $300. They said I owed $350, so instead of a check, I only owe them $50. But now they're already back to over $300. AAAARGHHH!!

In 100% agreement brother. I got off easy this year, only had to give ceaser 1,400. And reastaurant tax in town I live, 6.5%, is a friggin joke. FOOD TAX!!! Nice vent, by the way. Feeling your frustration.
