I liked Megatron with Welker way more than that paranoid crazy fuck Galvatron with Nimoy. Starscream looks pretty badass with his new body armor. Hasbro the toy line which wanted new toys kept this movie from being an epic movie. It is still a great movie but would of been better if the whole movie was like the first ten minutes throughout the film. Non stop action, some casualities to the lesser characters, and one on one showdowns between the main characters.

@Redfire085 At this point it was "survival of the fittest" as stated by the constructicons. Soundwave probably knew that if he still supported Megatron then he too would be thrown out of Astrotrain. If not by Starscream then possibly by one or more other Decepticons. Nominating himself as leader was not entirely out of character either since he is probably ranked third after Starscream and a proven efficient soldier.

@Redfire085 Your'e right that he's second in name only. Shockwave was left in charge of Cybertron in Megatrons absence. But I believe that Megatron was grooming Starscream to be his successor. My reasonings are that until he became Galvatron he forgave Starscream of all of his attempted usurpings. Plus there was a point where Megatron told Starscream that he wasn't ready to be leader. Also Starscream shows more charisma than Shockwave and it follows to reason that more would follow him.

@Redfire085 A good point and yes maybe he did find the attempts amusing but any of those failed attempts could have led to the Decepticons defeat. Maybe he finally had enough of Starscreams shenanigans and decided he wanted to finally destroy the Autobots. Also I forget but I believe i read somewhere that if it were not for Shockwaves inability to adapt stratagies he would be the actual Decepticon leader since his ability to see statistical advantage was greater than Megatrons.

Most may not know this but the voice of Unicoron was Orson Wells' last major audio recording before he died. If you don't know who he is, think back to one of the greatest sci fi creations...a little radio show called War of the Worlds...one that changed the nation.
