I like your Guybrush Threepwood character design better than the one from the LucasArts Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition remake. The art direction there was just lazy and horrible.

@object404 yeah gotta admit ther was a certain charm to the almost olde school style illustration/painting look of the original verison of monkey island, with the talking heads, you got impression they was goin for semi-realism, like titles of some big Sword & sorcory epic or a book (see MI2 intro sequence for gud example) (making the juxtaposition of comedy better).... the cartoony style they pick didnt sit well for me, not saying bad, backgrounds were pretty good, but characters lost emersion

This is really, REALLY amazing. But the Special Edition is in 2D mate, they also made this hybrid to go from the old into new editions, so it would be REALLY pain in the ass for them to make it 3D.

Hey - as a guy who's done a classic "VGA" style remake of an old adventure game, I must say this is QUITE impressive. Just amazing. I really love it. You've captured the feel and intent of the original art and background, and brought it into the 3D realm. Wow.

Touching... Now MI SE sounds a bit ugly! But I bet Lucasarts won't take the time to invest in such a thing. Let's face it, they're back to the old games coz they're out of good new games, and this SE and Tales of Monkey Island was a touch of the waters.

Well again im posting and watching this and it is fenomenal... But sadly lucas arts will never use this approach to remake monkey island and monkey island 1 SE was like a fast repaint and i didn't like it very much ... It was no fun... Also tell tale must see this bc they episodes of monkey island are no match for this... This have that old cartoon style and atmosphere that monkey island series need... *sigh* ...

LucasArts, hire this man! I was happy to purchase the MI1 remake because I desperately want to see the franchise back, but quite unhappy with how much you deviated from the original art direction! (particularly in the close-up scenes)

Honestly, I feel that MI3 is when the character art started to slip off, but that's certainly debatable. Projecting the original concept art is brilliant, and I can't imagine ANYONE having a problem with it.
