  • its hard to do low notes i tried but i can do the high notes! Thanks!

  • Hey Great video - Easy to follow and really enjoyable :)

I have just done a fun video called "History of pop in 100 riffs" , and this is one of the riffs featured in it - i love this song so had to include it.

Please check out the video on my piano and take the challenge to see if you can name the famous keyboard riffs ;)

Hope you keep on making these kind of videos , as i wish youtube was about when i took up the piano / keyboard.

All the best, and please have a look at my new vid

    P.J

  • There is no C in the bass in the intro. it just goes - A , C#, D./ The c is left to the bass guitar

  • Hi,I found another tutorial and coupled with the bit you posted here, I pieced it together.....:)))

  • i cant do it he is to fast

  • There is no C in the baseline during the intro/vers-part. EVER!

  • aargh....I too need the rest of it

  • this is the easisiest way to play it out there...my one freinds fingers feel asleep from playing it the "right way"

  • Thanks for posting this classic. The sheet music for the original piano part for The Beatles' "Lady Madonna" can be found at manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm - a note-for-note transcription.

  • Excellent. Thanks.

  • You don't know how to play!!!

  • Wow!!!

  • Cool

  • Give them a score. That's not the original version.

  • i was trying to learn this on my key board but i need more keys. i can do it seperatly but not at the same time

  • omg can u plz just post some sheet music like i cant learn shit from this

  • Thank you!!

I can play them both together after just watching this, but it's still a little messy!

I've been playing piano since I was in the third grade....and now I'm in tenth :P

  • Thank You!

  • Thank You!

  • Thjank you!

  • well played man can you play it the way paul plays it these days

  • Isn't it C# instead pf C in ur left hand

  • Hot damn .. after years of trying to play this, I now see how it is done ... thanks a million for this most excellent tutorial!!

  • It's true that Bad Penny Blues shares stylistic similarities to the Lady Madonna riff but to call it a rip off is a bit rich

  • @randeb5567 not even close. even if he did use a riff off of some 30s song. He is still the greatest musician of all time. He has still written hundreds of AMAZING pieces.

  • @randeb5567 Also, I just checked that song out that is not even close to note for note.

  • note for note ? maybe you're listening to it at the wrong speed, Similar yes, but the same note for note ? No way my friend

  • Paul Mccartney is just a bottemless well of briliant riffs and melodies.

    The man is pure genius.

  • COOL!!

    thx for this lesson!

  • the man who created this piano riff is just pure musical genius

  • @MiraculousJeff That would be paul mccartney. And I definitely agree that paul mccartney is pure musical genius... I've known that for a looong time, my friend.

    A LOOOooooong time.

  • @MiraculousJeff you mean paul mccartney??

  • Great! Fantastic "how to"... love this song...

  • Great instruction with nothing spoken. This person understands and conveys the song learning process. Very nice...

  • im the god damn walrus here so piss off ;)

  • Awesome! Are you the Walrus?!?

  • I believe he is the walrus and so am I.

  • fuck off I'm the walrus

  • @SingHouse nah i think i am

  • no way man

  • @SingHouse than i guess u him and I are all the walrus

  • Lovely deconstruction. Made it look so simple.

  • this is the best lesson of this song i've ever seen on youtube!

listen to the record and you'll see!(=

  • shit. I wish I still had my keyboard...

  • I've been trying to nail this using Pianojohn113's tutorial and have been finding it a lot harder than expected.

This one feels a little lighter in tone as less notes are involved and strikes me as being closer to the actual Beatles recording.

  • You've applied the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid) to this song with great results! There's something about uncluttered piano arrangements that lets the notes sound out more. Kudos to you!

  • some one watches the office.

  • man, that is great.

best tutorial on this song yet.

  • dude thanks a lot man, you made my day.

  • thanks!

  • Me gusto mucho, muy bueno. Felicitaciones. Además muy didáctico.

  • No disrespect, but I couldn't stop laughing as i noticed your small photo(from a distance) looks remarkably similar to Leo Sayer....'playing Lady Madonna...'

    love ur vids....

    peace...

  • haha i see it too!

  • I hate google and youtube but then again I love google and youtube---thank you!!! 5 stars

  • Thanks! I will

  • nice man. thanks for posting this.

  • That was awesome for the main part of the melody, but can you please do a vid showing how to play the bridge chorus?

  • you're the only one ive seen who can make that song look so easy. It's amazing

  • yeah

  • great thanks

  • I learnt this in 15 minutes thanks to you.

  • i love you man

  • I love you too man. I love you too.

  • freat now i know how to play this song thank you very much

  • is the camera mounted to your for head? lol nice job great song

  • i cant do both of them together, but i can do them seperatley,

  • Yeah, it's hard at first, but if you can do both separately, it's only a matter of time before you can do it all together.

  • now, try singing it at the same time... no way! ;)

  • Brilliant! Gonna give it a try, thanks...

  • Hey i posted my cover version now, have a listen and let me know what you think!x

  • Very good, thnx. Can you also make a "how to"for the second part?

  • Unfortunatly this is all I know. I never learned the second part.

  • @altoidyoda For some reason, these online tutors all play it in A, but I just listened to the Beatles version and it appears to be in B flat, which is a very nice piano key. Seems like if you're gonna teach an all-time classic, you would teach it as written and played by McCartney.

  • @sportsmediaamerica I'll argue in favor of it being in A. I've listened to studio and live versions and it's discernibly in A; if I play in Bb, it's not in tune. You'd have to explain why McCartney's left hand roots on a white key instead of a black key in 1:19 of watch?v=XPwLnGQzKEg. There's also enough tablature to evidence it's in A. You must be listening to some vinyl or something.

  • @andhemills Yep, it's in A. No dispute there. I see the light. I think tape speed explains my earlier issue.

  • @sportsmediaamerica i think the C sharp is one of those implied things that just results from the harmony of the left and right hands playing , but damn to actually play it like that ( with the C#) is some bad ass technique

  • The second part's easy if you know the chords and the bassline; it's not nearly as fancy as the intro riff.

  • dawg u gotta do the second part of the song homie!!

  • just learning..thanx...I get it now

  • it's suppoesed to go A, C#, D, D in the left hand. the songs is in the key of C.

  • umm its not in the key of c, its in the key of a, but your right there should not be a c in the bass, i think thats what your trying to say mabye!x

  • You play the C too in the left A, C,C#, D, D , it sounds better

  • This is not that difficult of a song and yet most people on youtube play it wrong or way too fast. Your version is excellent. Thanks for posting it.

  • thanks great stuff worth watching and learning

  • ive always thought this song sounds a lot like the Dr. Mario tune

  • ya me too

  • Awesome! I should have it up to tempo by the end of the night.

    Thanks for this

  • from you guide I have realized alot. I need to change some parts in my version. this guide has been very helpful.

  • very very good...only I cant ever get the timing ringht when I TRY to join both hands...

  • thank you for the only correct version Ive seen

  • Very good can you post the rest of Lady Madonna thank's

  • unfortunately, this is all I know.

  • Wow, someone on Youtube actually knows how to play the song CORRECTLY! Nice!

  • i know! i get so frustrated at that!

  • Encore! Encore!

  • The clearest and most accurate tutorial of this song I've seen on YouTube. Great going. Thanks and lets see more.

  • very good, i like the way you go through the song slowly, gradually adding more and more, brilliant. could you give us friday night etc???

  • Thanks.

I actually don't know the next part. I can do the left hand, but I never learned the right, it's a bit harder. When I do learn it, I'll be sure to post it in the same manner.

  • it was good but can you upload the whole song?

  • great!!, thanks for this. very good lesson

  • Man the sound on my camera sucks. The video quality ain't so good either. ...meh.
