@ACLTony Thumbs up to your comment :) You're one of the first I actually ''saw'' who actually call the noise made by the train ''music'' (appart from me)
@NeoArashi - Thanks. The train sounds are so unique & I have fond memories of enjoyable train rides with my family. One other thing I do is listen to cool jazz when I ride trains as it goes together so well with 70mph track music. I don't mean the "sleepy slow stuff". I'm referring to Jazz from Joyce Kooling (tunes like "Daddy-O" & "Expression), Paul Brown (24/7), and Chuck Loeb.
This is cool! Neat how the train gradually picks up speed and cruises at a pretty nice clip. Looks like between 70-80mph. For those criticizing, the view from a passenger train is also a unique perspective as you'll traverse through areas not accessible by auto. To me, riding a passenger train is a relaxing experience and much less hectic than flying.
@kaizerzydeco I'd get your radar checked. If those guys are going that fast they are basically wanting to go to jail. Max passenger speed in Canada is 100mph. There is no way any crew would willingly and purposely go 8mph over the speed limit.
@kaizerzydeco By modern standards in North America this is not that bad. What lacks here is the overhead catenary, which would allow quick acceleration for commuter trains.
No better feeling than to put distance between you and THAT city.

@supertouring The tracks have been even further improved now!...Its even smoother and faster. Many 100/mph zones now on that stretch.

I like how it looks like the CN Tower is actually GROWING, instead of ''Shrinking'' like the rest ogf the city for a while.

This beats driving ther Gardiner.

I still enjoy watching this vid. The combination of speed and the "rail music" coming from the wheels rolling on the welded rail is super cool. :-)

What's the speed limit there?
italiancanuck89 2 years ago
Well for the most part 90MPH or 140+km/h it depends on what track and restrictions etc.
pilotmanmax 2 years ago
95 MPH for the most part between toronto Union and Aldershot.
PatrickTomaszewski10 2 years ago 3
@PatrickTomaszewski10 : Aldershot is in the other direction. CN Rail speed limit is 110-130mph.
mapleleafsforever 1 year ago
Aldershot is just past Oakville. CN Rail speed limit is 110 - 130mph!...wow....I guess all the track work they just recently did paid off.
PatrickTomaszewski10 1 year ago
@PatrickTomaszewski10 Top trains speeds in Canada are 60mph for freight and 100mph for passenger.

@GEES44DC This guy is correct.
mccarron969 2 weeks ago
@PatrickTomaszewski10 the canadian can go over 100? thats cool.
howardkevinm 1 month ago
@mapleleafsforever Um, freight train maximum speed in Canada is 60mph and passenger is 100mph.
GEES44DC 1 year ago
@GEES44DC I've clocked VIA at 108 MPH near Gananoque. They regularly exceed the speed limits.

GEES44DC 11 months ago
@GEES44DC It's more than just a little pathetic that 100 mph is considered high speed in Canada. By modern standards, it's pretty pokey.
kaizerzydeco 11 months ago
@kaizerzydeco But 100mph at crossings where there is no protection what so ever is pretty fast.

@mapleleafsforever limit is 95 mph tops. although some engineers go a bit over 100mph

@mapleleafsforever VIA's max speed is 100mph, and CN's is significantly slower.
