I'm glad. You really should go there. All you need is to be a native English speaker with an undergraduate degree and you can teach English in Japan (and really, most any other foreign country too).
sorry american dude, im going to let you in on a little secret...There are more swords that are NOT made in japan than there are real japanese swords.
K, fill me in on this: Why are you swinging yer sword while saying those words from a sheet of paper?
AND you don't really need a license to buy a sharp sword. It's just that you can't carry it around on the streets, that's all. Is that what they told you???
Hahah, the sword swinging was gimicky, I admit. I had gotten it not long before making this and wanted to show off, to make the intro of my first video interesting and memorable. The sheet of paper was because I was too excited/lazy to memorize the list of unusual foods I'd tried. :-D
Well yeah, some folks in Japan said I would need a license for a real one, because it's considered a weapon. I never looked into it personally, so perhaps I was misinformed. In any case, it wouldn't be that difficult to sharpen the one I have if I really wanted to, I suppose. The tip is already very sharp. Its the length of the blade that's dull. A real one would be way out of my price range anyway. :-)
awsome vid i really wanna visit japan someday and you have alot of bokken in your room and also how did you get an iaito for around 40 or 50 dollars there really exspensive online
I bought the sword in Nara. There were quite a few in their souvenir shops, some of which were *much* more expensive than mine. Also, it isn't real. Only the tip is sharp, not the edge of the blade. It is heavy enough to knock someone out with, though. ;-D
I am totally lame, because I don't remember which style it's supposed to have been made in. It's packaged up right now. If I figure out what it is later I'll let you know. :-)
cool i always wanted to go to japan

that sword is not a real japanese samurai sword. She was able the hold the edge by her hand lol.

Indeed, very true. There's no way I could have afforded a real sword. Still love the one I got though! :-D

Even though it's just an Iaito u should still not touch the edge. the fatty acids on your figers will make the "blade" to corrode.

I paid for it in yen, but forget the exact amount. I believe it was in the range of 40 or 50 American dollars.
