First of all, Emmy Rossum IS a singer. She's been singing with the Metropolitan Opera Group since she was 7 years old.
Second, there is a reason her voice is "shaky" It's called Vibrato numbnuts. The only reason you're not used to it is because most pop singers can't do it. It's a difficult thing to attain and a very proper and impressive way of singing.

singing is not about hitting the highest note you know. It's about the quality of how you hit your notes. Maybe you're not a soprano. Just because someone can hit a high note doesn't mean he/she's better than you or even that he/she's the best singer.

And an opera singer MUST breath correctly ALL THE TIME or else there is no breath support. No breath support mean no projection to sing over a large orchestra. And how is that a PROVEN FACT? I do like her pop voice, hate her classical voice. (She just doesn't have proper colouring...)
BTW, vibrato needs to actually be controlled. Her's isn't really... And she had to leave the Met at 12 because she was too tall...

Ok there are a few 'tards which need to be yelled at right now.
First of all, Emmy Rossum IS a singer. She's been singing with the Metropolitan Opera Group since she was 7 years old.
Second, there is a reason her voice is "shaky" It's called Vibrato numbnuts. The only reason you're not used to it is because most pop singers can't do it. It's a difficult thing to attain and a very proper and impressive way of singing.

I really don't like hearing ppl diss her b/c I think she's really talented... But that's just my opinion (which everyone is going to yell at me for but, hey, it's all good...)

Well, I can't hit a lot of the notes she hits...or I can and my voice cracks. I guess I need training. But when I sing the songs in my house my brother tells me to shut up. :(

singing is not about hitting the highest note you know. It's about the quality of how you hit your notes. Maybe you're not a soprano. Just because someone can hit a high note doesn't mean he/she's better than you or even that he/she's the best singer.

I am a soprano but a Soprano 2, not a Soprano 1. I think I hit the notes, I just need to practice more so my voice doesn't crack.

When she was 12, she got into the childrens chorus at the Metropolitan, so what if she uses her 'damn falsetto' for all you know,MAYBE thats the way the director,or,whoever,wanted it. Yea...Falsetto is used because your range is limited. And no director wants to hear a whole song sung in a breathy falsetto. And an opera singer MUST breath correctly ALL THE TIME or else there is no breath support. No breath support mean no projection to sing over a large orchestra. And how is that a PROVEN FACT? Reading Renee's book, breathing is a fundamental part of singing and is ALWAYS done corretly by an accomplished opera singer. You and I need to debate. IM me: Delrey1962

She can't act." And when she blows about 20 notes in Think of Me (Uh, did you hear her 'waking' and 'take your heart back and be free?' we realize that she can't sing, she's not a soprano, and she scoops her notes and can't carry a note.

Yes, I'm sure all that talent will explode from that mouth she keeps open in all her movies non stop. And she's not a soprano. Even if she sounds like one, they digitalized her voice in POTO because they wanted to make her sound good. Seriously, if some of you Emmy obsessors listened to some of the REAL singers in my videos, you'd change your mind about how wonderful you think this peanut vendor 'soprano' is.

If your voice cracks when reaching the high notes, it's either it's already out of your voice range and you're not meant to sing that high OR you're not doing it right. :) As simple as that. :)
We heard her, and if I'm not wrong, the only way to criticize a singer is to listen and watch her while singing - Which is exactly what we did when we watched the movie AND watched these clips.
