I've heard of self flagellation, it's practised by many Shiites, but banging knives into peoples heads?!! That's weird... I follow Sufism myself, the Naqshbandi tariqat which is quite commonly practised in Kurdish communities. However, while we do zikr (meditation), whirling, singing, music, in addition to our prayers - I've never seen Sufis practice self-harm or inflicting harm! If this is genuine footage and not forged, I'm quite puzzled by it...
