  • Great reworking but -- why does it show Obama -- when Obama (like bail outs or not) actually SAVED jobs in the auto industry. In fact Unemployment is slowly dwindling. YES, not fast enough -- but Obama is in no way a ROMNEY who FIRED everybody who worked for him. - He;s no way a Gingrich who supported outsourcing. He's in no way a Ron Paul who believes the corporations have a right to fire Americans and outsource to other countries. -- I'm just sayin.'

  • thanks for posting this.. we want jobs not austerity and bonuses for billionaires.

  • i hate it

  • right on!!

  • A working America is a healthy America

  • Not bad together, are they ?

  • I did not know that Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Willie Nelson did anything all together before. I knew that Johnny Cash sang with Tom Petty, Carl Perkins and Willie Nelson seperately, but I did not know he sang with them together.

  • smaur1999, No doubt about it, we're all in this thing together.

  • @manhatin I'm happy to see that you went down the middle when posting this song/video. and by middle i mean not pointing fingers one way or the other. The entire Government, left and right, is responsible for the current state of the economy. I got laid off a year ago and 'Give me back my job' has been a going theme since.

  • @therealwild1

Trust me, both parties are stinking the place up.

  • @therealwild1

This business as laid in place 35 years ago and it is working out for them just like they planned it. Right down the middle, they are doing us in.

I pray that you and I both will find a job soon.

  • @therealwild1

They set this in place 35 years ago and they are killing us right down the middle. Both sides. I'll pray that you and I both find a job soon.

  • A great Saturday public-radio music program here named Private Idaho played this song, expressing compassion for anyone impacted by economy 2009.

manhatin, thank you for your efforts!

  • smaur1999, Does that mean you're workin' on it ?

  • For anyone impacted by 2009 economy ???!!!***

A cualquier persona afectada en 2009 la economía ???!!!***

    對於任何人受傷, 2009年經濟???!!!***

إلى أي شخص بحلول عام 2009 أثرت في الاقتصاد؟؟؟!!!***

För att någon påverkas av 2009ekonomi ???!!!***

Para qualquer pessoa impactada por 2009 economia ???!!!***

  • gangerollo, Thanks. before there was a manhatin, there was ( and is ) a public access tv show here in Cincinnati called, " Who's The Guy In the Hat?". When I decided to give YouTube a whirl, I figured that manhatin would be a properly warped version of the title to use as my "nom de plume".

  • Great song and great video. Thank you very much manhatin. BTW what is your idea behind that nom de plume?

  • Anonnimmy, "I wonder: who will write such a track to describe what will happen to those workers' children if they got their wish?" Maybe one of Carl Perkin's grandkids.

  • Brilliant track, which describes so well the view of the ordinary worker.

I wonder: who will write such a track to describe what will happen to those workers' children if they got their wish?

Not a flame: a great track, and it made me feel stuff. But complex issues are complex.

  • barahona44 , We, as Americans, accepted the idea that we could shop for a living. It was an idea sold to us. Now that the well is dry, for many Americans, cheap goods aren't all that attractive.

  • Americans aren't interested in American jobs.If they can save a few bucks on something made overseas, they will.

  • allstondave , I thought long and hard about the credits ( there are none). I can give a clue about the music. It was done by five of the biggest names in rock and roll. It was released in 1996 and the guy who sings the last verse wrote the song. I think this song has been laying around for the last twelve years waiting for it's time to come.

  • Great Job!!!,

You production skills are getting much better. (Should have given a music credit at the end.)

  • RonFella,

Thanks, it was a labor of love.

  • Great video!

  • MaceGill,

    Thank you for watching it.

  • Good on ya Manhatin.

    Thanks for posting this
