The first concert I ever took my daughter to, was in San Francisco when we lived there. It was 1972 or 3, she was 4 or 5 years old. The venue was Winterland, if memory serves, and the concert was a double bill .... Tower Of Power warmed up for Santana. Marvelous! Man, the music we could here there then, and dirt cheap too. I miss those days ~

Remember Carlos has also played Gibson SG and Yamaha's in the past and had the same signature tone back then. Though some of it is linked to his Mesa's which he has had for decades now, it is not only the equipment that creates his unmistable tone - it's amazing feeling in every note he plays. MANY guitar players playing same equipment have tried to hit the same sound as Carlos and few have come even close. Carlos would sound the same on a Fender Strat or any other guitar because
