@KajexFiredrake Yes. Every year when they run the "Twilight Zone" marathon on Syfy, and this episode is aired, it reminds me of just how great an actor Art Carney was and how great a writer Rod Serling was and just how touching this wonderful episode was. Particularly this time of year.
Rod wrote this story specifically with Art in mind- he wanted to see him play Santa Claus. However, Carney was suffering from a severe drinking problem at the time...and his "inebriated" scenes weren't that far from what he was actually going through,

GoostyGAM u got my favorite scene - amazing stuff. "and drinking is so much more subtle" - that line gets me every time.

I've seen every twilight zone many times, and this is probably my favorite scene from all of them. Brilliant.

As with so many typecast comics of the picture industry, Art Carney obviously had some wonderful dramatic talent that was rarely tapped.

art carney was great. he was the original felix in the odd couple on stage and he could play both parts, oscar and felix
