@salchipapa8000 well header are "An exhaust manifold or header collects the exhaust gases from multiple cylinders into one pipe"(wiki) and yes it does but not by a ridiculous amount either. You don't need it but its recommended, its like tuning your ecu on a car to run better,

I like the styling, performance, quality, and the ergonomics of it. But thats just for me. IMO, the GSXRs and CBRs are designed a little bit more for the street. Quick, just more street riding in mind. Obviously I prefer the R6, or even a NInja, but if you want one of the other two, take the CBR. Too many posers on GSXRs out there already.
is there a big difference in the 07 model tho they look the same. i like this style withe the sharper headlights. i heard 08 has improved a lot but still looks same as some 07s.. i know for sure i will get r6 but budget is my prob 6 grand. tho i want to go with the best r6. thanks n advance
@rickboy89 I have an 07. It doesnt really start putting out power till 10000rpms. They fixed that on the 08 and gave some more midrange power. Also lowered the handlebars so its more aggressive. There are a few more changes such as a more low profile gas tank and a slightly tweaked front end like you said.

where did you get the custom map cuz i got the same setup; the gytr slip on with a bmc race filter, but i also have a midpipe. i just dont know how to map the power commander.
you wont be able to do that bc the switch on the handle bar will not give power to the other bulb unless on hi beam.

@dragnby yeah i ride with dem too now cuz people still cant see u during the day with bright colors so i use hi beam on day and night riding as well helps a lot with visibility
It will make a difference to a stock bike. It will improve bhp a little, throttle response, mpg and smooth the power/torque curve. The factory map is not perfect. Its tuned for noise and emmision regulations. Also all R6's of the same year will have the same map, although all engines will be slightly different. A custom map WILL benifit a stock bike. Oh yeh, how did you rejet your carb and fit a powwer commander to a fuel injection system???
nice bike man did you have it tuned on a dyno or did you program the maps on your own? im kinda confused with the power commander I dont fully understand how to program it. im thinking about getting the bazaz auto tune but figured i would ask around first. any suggestions?
You can either download a fuel map online through power commander, or you have it tuned on a dyno by a shop. A custom tune will give you more power, but it usually costs at least $300. The power commander has maps for every bike with multiple pipes, so you can usually always find the map you need. You plug the unit to your computer with a USB plug that is provided with the unit, and download the map right to your unit. It's very easy, and install is not too hard either.

No problem, i love how well it works, and if you know someone that can tune, the unit has tons of features. Also once installed you can hook it up to a laptop and adjust settings, change maps in seconds, or anything. Pretty good units.
I would think that a tune would stop the rpm jump at idle....I just installed my mjs header with a termi and it def needs a pc3 now, sounds similar to yours when starting up

I have a 2008 raven R6 just like this one and I installed a set of Gen 1 headers from mjs with a Akrapovic slipon. It was not hard at all to be honest with you. Unbolt the stock headers and then just drop them off and you are done. Make sure you keep the header gaskets behind the stock set. The hardest part is trying to keep the mjs headers up off the ground to install them. Prop them up with some wood of a box under them so you can bolt them down. I run a power commander 5 too. Big difference!
header was easy...just have to take off the right lower fairing and its pretty easy from there. the radiator is kinda in the way but u can manage lol. im selling it bc its time to get a 1000 lol
I tuned my bike my self, as does just about everybody else these days with the bazzaz or PC V. I deleted my last comment because I realize you were from iwsti so I'll be more chill LOL. Theres no way the bike has 126whp though, thats just not possible with just an exhaust. r6's that are highly modified with cam's etc. are just breaking 123-125 whp.

sweet! took about 30-45 min to install header and about 1 - 1 1/2 hours for the pc3. but thats taking my time and bullshitting with my friends while im doing the install lol. definately not hard tho. if u have the instructions that come with the PC3 than my granny could do it hah

the headers are awesome! there is definitely a big difference everywhere....low and top end. great header! mike (MJS) has in my opinion the best headers for the R6. no track time, just street riding
Nice bike dude I have the exact same set up...what map did you use or I assume it is custom. If you could share it I would greatly appreciate it because mine just got custom mapped but still backfires in the 12-14,000 rpm range as specially from 1st to 2nd.

well it is a custom map and i cant share it lol they people who tuned it never sent it to me in a email and by the time i asked for it, it was to long ago...i wish i could get it, id share, sorry bro! but yea my bike made 126hp at like 14,500 rpm but 107hp at redline, so i definately shift around 15,000. the guy who tuned it did an awesome job! took 6 hours! and backfiring is essentially normal. mine pops and shootsa sweet flame every now and then lol

I just ordered same setup but with leo vince slip on and bmc air filter wiht pc3.... how long did install take and can u give me any tips

sweet! took about 30-45 min to install header and about 1 - 1 1/2 hours for the pc3. but thats taking my time and bullshitting with my friends while im doing the install lol. definately not hard tho. if u have the instructions that come with the PC3 than my granny could do it hah

Awsome bike. I'm getting ready to order my mjs headers. Just wanted to find out if your satisfied with yours. could you tell a definate differance over stock? And have you done any track riding with the headers? wandering if there is any hesitation or if its harder to be smooth on the throttle?

the headers are awesome! there is definitely a big difference everywhere....low and top end. great header! mike (MJS) has in my opinion the best headers for the R6. no track time, just street riding

Nice bike dude I have the exact same set up...what map did you use or I assume it is custom. If you could share it I would greatly appreciate it because mine just got custom mapped but still backfires in the 12-14,000 rpm range as specially from 1st to 2nd.

well it is a custom map and i cant share it lol they people who tuned it never sent it to me in a email and by the time i asked for it, it was to long ago...i wish i could get it, id share, sorry bro! but yea my bike made 126hp at like 14,500 rpm but 107hp at redline, so i definately shift around 15,000. the guy who tuned it did an awesome job! took 6 hours! and backfiring is essentially normal. mine pops and shootsa sweet flame every now and then lol
