  • oh what i would do to be there in real life.

  • I making one of theses.

  • Nice bqq

  • ...got a light?

  • To see this thing perform at a show with lots of other awesome stuff watch this /watch?v=tjwWaUs_OmM&feature=player_embedded#!

  • you crackheads!!! O.o

  • Y'all seem like a pretty normal establishment, do you ever get any requests to make something weird and non-typical?

  • Made in Deutsches Reich^

  • Deep in the hills of Kentucky some country bumpkins are working to develop the next great propulsion system for NASA!

  • hey why do you get the engine of bat mobile

  • Could it be?.. After all these years?... Chuck norris's hair dryer?

  • BRILLIANT! Oh E V E R Y kid should have a few of THESE around! I love it. So Gents - when do you construct your airframe? have the first RETURN flight of one of these things BACK across the channel to Peenemunde?!?!?

    Well Done!

    >Ray

  • Wooow...Tthey should've been in touch with the FD way before "experimentally" lighting this off....-It's from a balistic military design...especially..

  • It is NOT safe to operate that thing there...

  • @tempest411 Exactly... They should've at least applied for a some sort of appropraite permit...or otherwise established a paperwork trail of authorization.

  • @railadvocate

silly republican with your silly ideas of silly rules that nobody needs.

appropriate (not appropraite) permit, established a trail of paperwork of authorization ? you have got to be kidding...

At the VERY most they could have called the FD to tell them not to come out and worry... Pulsejets are pretty safe (Just very loud so it can scare people like you).

    Go back to church please.

  • @tempest411 And? :D :D :D :P

  • Its Godzilla's mating call..

  • -"What you doing, honey?!"

    -"Errr.. just mowing the lawn"

  • best part at 0:49 BOOM!

  • Hello, this is Adolph Hitler and I approve this video.

  • @handsupbud Can you spell your own name right then, Adolf?

  • The first generation cruise missiles.........

  • Help! built myself a ThermoJet he does not suck the air gotta keep compressed air blowing in dult input when he cut off the air conprimido I detail what I'm using butane gas (coal gas will cusine q of the gas may be some tips there guys

  • 9 ppl are ignorants. This is a historic document. Remember this the next time you fly somewhere on holiday in a JET POWERED AEROPLANE!

  • These guys are into some freaky-ass shit.

  • if i ever built a pod racer like on starwars i would use two of these instead of jet engines.

  • I hate when neighbors call the fire dept.

  • how many lbs of thrust is that

  • The world's next anti-tailgating device.

  • jesus h that chills ya to the bone

  • German redneckery!

  • the took the German design =) =) =)

    greets from germany dude

  • red nex?

  • HAMMERSOUND!!!

  • if it was me, flying thingy sounds like a screaming lorry?? or alien sapce ship :D its AWESOME!!!!

  • locos de mi3rd4!!!!!!!!! jajajaja :)

  • Running a little rich? Lol

  • V1 Rocket is en Route on Target. inciating fire Sequence!-Company of heroes Wehrmacht general.

High Command offers a V1 Rocket. we have to choose a target!

  • Fireman Not Amused!

  • @CHAINREACTION238

    **cascada song starts playing**

  • that is terrifying!

  • Vorsprung durch technik

  • I grew up in Kent - UK and my father used to take me with him on occasion to a pub called The Red Lion (still there) on Romney Marsh. I would sit by the window in the back room which had been blown out due to a Doodlebug (V1 flying Bomb) landing only a few hundred yards away during WW2.

  • @ludwigvonsteampole1 I love a good old story and iv been past that pub. We was diving off Dover and thought we might have found some bits ali parts from a Doodle but could never bee sure :)

  • blow back in the bong watch out for the blim

  • Sounds like Godzilla experiencing guitar feedback at his rock concert

  • That thing is wicked. Just the sound alone would be terrifying if you never heard it before.

  • stuff a potato into that pipe thinky :D

  • I was just about to say that seems dangerous, than it cut to the fire brigade turning up lol.

  • I would love to see this in person. Beats the hell out of my turbocharger jet engine!

  • 'It's like Robotwars!' LOL

  • They where just jelious

  • sod the ass hole who called the fire department, you should fire that baby up every day. good on you boy's,. tank boy over the pond in blighty..

  • Typical. Some jackass(es,) who knows how far away had to call the fire department. Just can't have any fun anymore these days.

  • LOL the pipe keeps falling :)

    power of the V1

  • German power! wery nice.

  • I love how he's telling the fire department guys how it's not really that loud or anything...everyone just got a little excited that's all!

  • thanks for using german products

  • HEY! A damned fire breathing V1 Argus Pulsejet fer crissake...a hovercraft under the blue tarp...What kind of fun are you guys up to? LOL

  • what is that noise before it starts????

  • @stdavross666 At 2:35 he starts to explain what it is however some of it is inaudible. The noise you speak of is coming from a Ford 460 motor which produces the compressed air required to start the Pulsejet engine.

The fan belt sounds like it is squealing when they pull the revs up. I bet its been in the weather for a while.

  • Sick bastidges

  • FIRE.... ITS A MANS WORLD! xD

  • YIKES!

  • That will wake up those bloody horrible neighbours.

  • Mark Pauline, SRL shows. God he pissed a lot of people off.

  • Man I love that sound.

  • i wonder what the neighbors were thinking...

  • imagine a superweapon was powered by this thing and when everybody heard this their balls fell off ..

    that wud be awesome ..

  • @rhn94 these powered the v1 and v 2 rockets during world war two. they carried explosives and were horribly inaccurate. hearing the buzz of one of these approaching your village in europe meant you're right in the eye of fire.. you're depiction of fright isnt too far off.

  • @toreyjw1 the V2 actually was a liquid-propellant rocket fueled by ethanol and liquid oxygen while the V1 was powered by a pulse jet as u can see it in the video.

  • Daaaamn... Imagin how scary it was when you could hear the nois of these things coming!

The germany were crazy and they had a mad leader in WW2 but their technology was many years ahead! Luckily they didn't have the raw materials to build their planes and weapons at the end of WW2, otherwise things could be different today..

  • Trata de arrancarlo Carlos, por Dios. ¡Trata de arrancarlo!

  • insane

  • that's scary engine you got there

  • V1 rebuild

  • This is not the pulsejet that was used on the V1.

  • This isn't the pulsejet that was used on the V1.

  • Yeah dude...I bet the fireys were "mightily impressed"

  • monstrous

  • Пиzдец, ужос нах! :0

  • @arne1939 Idiot...

  • i would run like all hell if i was right there.

  • My mates grandad looked straight up from his paper. He knew what that was. Things used to try and kill him in south London!

  • The Cyclops is half done (base coated but no aging), so I'd say this is right before the Berkeley Museum show in 2003. I miss those days!

  • You guys dont have a neighborhood, dont u ?? i mean.. WHO THE HECK is tolerating some noise neighbors like YOU ??

  • I am so puttin that in the kia!

  • is this made from the same specs. as the v1 rockets?

  • @MASTERBLU3 this one i believe is a original from WWII

one of the last in existence i think

  • I think its broken...

  • too short ignites....> useless toy...

  • It sounds...dangerous^^

    But I love it :P

  • Wow. Now I know exactly why they were called buzzbombs. I can't imagine hearing those things coming from 10 miles away, never knowing where it's going to stop.

  • @b1tbomb

on some days you could hear them from over 16miles, but the sound isn't bad, sure its loud as hell, but when it stops its gonna explode some where

  • Oh my god...

  • Sounds like something from Cloverfield.

  • it sounds like the death itself

  • Waittaminute..It's that infernal machine that's with that Doomsday-show. The one where the public gets hearing-protection before start.. If i remember right they also had somesort of a giant, flamebreathing Dynosaur machine.

  • Thats the most terrifying sound ive ever heard. It sounds like a doomsday device. ;) Really cool stuff.

  • I wonder whether they were designed for thrust, or the psychological effect... imagine one of them buzzing/roaring over your city?

  • I got go-kart we can strap that too. LOL!! :-)

  • @MrGizmo757

    Now you see me...now you don't. =P

  • Time to wake up the neighbors. I think we just set Mrs Smiths cat on fire!

  • before the start it soudns like a f*ckin epic alien ship

  • Your neighbors must love you... :P

  • @CADtekk Im sure you would run for cover regardless.

  • how much power did it put out??also needs sound dampener around the housing unit and it would still put out as much power. FYI! good video. I would like to know more on that. thrust per pound or = in HP. thanks and fuel class. Or does that vary?

  • one word madddddddddd!!!!

  • Holy Shit!!!!

Put that thing on a light weigth Dragster and drive 1/4 mile!

  • Hellfire.... World's fastest toaster

  • wow reminded me of batman's turbo exhaust.

    But why is it noisy?

  • @bonggorospe The screeching sound is wonderful. But no... I don't know why either!

  • @bonggorospe Because the fuel explodes intermittently. More explosions, one after another, create that noise.

  • @SteffanLlwyd 0 TO TOAST IN, NOW!!

  • I take it someone called the fire department lol I was gonna ask how the heck you guys got away with that.

  • In your backyard!? My neighbors would freak if I did that!

  • now thats what an engine should sound like love the valve squeek also

  • NICE. keep up the good work. looks like u guys got somthin.

  • Holy crap!! Thats mad!

  • sounds like those jet engines they had on star-wars with the pod-racing :D

  • Awesome display of... something. At 51 seconds that thing appears to almost level the compound!

  • imagine being next door, that thing is brilliant

  • Wow that thing is massiv, im lucky they build turbofans and not ramjets into planes....

  • what sortof thrust that thing put out... looks massive

  • i want that on my car, so i dont have to be late :)

  • Sounds almost as loud as that diesel garbage truck that comes by my house at 2 in the morning.

  • the garbage truck from Hell!...

  • DUDE HOLY SHIT THATS FREAKING EPIC!

  • WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU GET THAT.

  • ... so they called the fire department on you :))

    Wow, that's a big engine!

  • yeah ive had the cops come to my house due to jet noise.... no big deal

  • Wow, a V1 pulsejet engine this is then? From an actual V1? Is the squeaking between firing you guys trying to get enough air flow into it?

  • that should wake up or upset the neighbors...

  • That looks dangerous as hell. I'm glad you did it though,

  • "Its not really that loud or anything, we were standing right next to it" LOL LOL LOL

THERE IS NOTHING *MORE* LOUD! Love it

  • Is that really V-1 engine?

  • It's a copy - similar if not the same design. The originals are LONG since rusted and gone now.

  • the first diesel pulsejet in the world lool! XD

  • I wish I could have been there and heard it in person. I've always been somewhat fascinated by pulse jets. They sound scary and actually evil. (probably the whole nazi thing) I'm going to do some research on building one. A much smaller one than yours, of course.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN You can build one...OR you can buy one. There are line-control model jets that use small (but VERY loud & obnoxious) pulse jet engines. In their own, smaller way, they have this same intimidating, "evil," aura about them that this big one has. My dad used to fly pulse jet models (called "Jet Speed").

  • Just keep stuffing your face, God Bless The Firemen and Firewomen

  • Sorry about that, had too many beans...

  • Loved the fire dept guy, WTF are you people doing again?

  • it spunds superb absalutly magnifisent wel dun u guys

  • How do you make a pulse jet

  • Just search it up on google, it's a very simple design, really.

  • these v-1s were on the famous German buzz bomb. The pulse jet makes a loud hum hence the name

  • When flying I takeit the V1 engine would not make the howling noise which seems to be inermitant.

    Fantastic engine though!

  • Im sure alot of old men were running for cover when they heard this thing go off.

  • @NigelGriff : I'm sure it was when it STOPPED making the noise they ran for cover. That's when they knew it was on its way down!

  • @NigelGriff , now imagine this thingy is build into a giant something like a airoplane looking "flying BOMB", and these things are flying over your head, your city like it did in WorldWar 2 over England. a HORRIFYING ROARING FLYING BOMB COMING AFTER YOU. HOW SCARY IS THAT?!

  • @axel1973w

What would be more scary is if some one of your intellect built said bomb

  • @axel1973w its scary when they stop making sound....

  • @axel1973w how scary is a 2 ton cruise missile with a modern turbofan engine and modern guidance coming @ you?

  • @AKAtheA thats an easy question. It would be not realy scary at all! Because those u cannot see and hear at all. So you just dont even know what vaporized you. So there is a difference.

  • @axel1973w The funniest thing is these guys, Is that U?? are doing something SO , blow me off the planet, DANGEROUS! and they're wearing earmuffs!, Like they're worried about going to heaven with their hearing intact!, What the???

  • @NigelGriff LOL, I remember that movie!

  • sounds like a monster!! Damn.. I would shit my pants if I heard that thing over Copenhagen

  • sounds like war of the worlds XD

  • The sound it makes is just horrific and brutal.

  • I would say they are building a pulse jet engine like the Argus of the V1 in order to support moviemakers with the most original V1-engine. The V1 is a deadly and very dumb weapon so was its usage, but the technology even is used today...

  • I would not call it dumb. The guidance was the only big issue, as it relied on clockwork mechanisms that couldn't adapt to changing conditions. The pulse jet engine, even the valved ones, are some of the most theoretically reliable engine with the only moving parts being the valves and fuel injectors. The whole idea of the weapon was ingenious as it was the predecessor of the cruise missile.

  • I wasnt talking about the design in common, I just refered to the guidance (a small propeller at the front end was rotating in the wind and was responsible for the distance measurements, the fuse was ignited by impact, wherever that little propeller cut off the fuel and let the bomb fall, on churches, houses...maybe they hitted a tactical target on coincidence, therefore I think its a dumb weapon..the layout yes is pretty similar to the AGM 86...better guidancew, but same stupid cause

  • Stupid cause? Maybe, but these days I think it's appropriate to forget the political climate of the times, and look at what the Germans pulled off under massive pressure and with fewer resources than so many other nations. The guidance system used on the V-1 was crude by today's standards, sure, but brilliant given the task, time available, current technology and conditions.

Seeing as my miniature pulsejets (4.5 and 18lb thrust) are loud enough to wake the dead, these must be like Armegeddon.

  • in principal this is a cruise missile. the so-called clockwork mechanism is a gyro system.

  • what the hell are these dudes building

  • Damn that thing is a beast!

  • you guys are crazy :))

  • HOLY CRAP! that's Mark Pauline and Survival Research Labs. I wonder how old this is, his hair had not gone gray yet.

  • That design heavily relies on ram air at a good pressure to work well. That's why V1s were catapulted at launch.

  • Man, imagine hearing that over London, a pause then BANG.

  • it seems to be unsafe

  • go figure

  • Impressive.

I think holding the marquee up is the least of your worries when you're stood in the exhaust of that engine.

LOL... love the bit where the guy is squirming to the fire brigade because he hasn't got proper authorisation to test.

  • Outstanding! Back yard engineering at its best, not sure if your neighbours quite agree though. Great sound all the same.
