  • fcukin' awesome...........!!!!!!!

  • Get your ass back in KISS!!!!!

  • Look out baby there's a plane coming!

  • I highly recommend Ace's book. It makes you see what Gene is really about.

  • The most purely talented member of KISS period....Peter Criss is a close second.

  • It`s better then the original!

  • the Move did the definitive version...but..this one works too...

  • ace your still one hell of a player and song writer.hope to see you concert again soon.when you coming to dallas foe a show?hay gotta get tickets you know.

  • It's better then the original.

  • Great rendition of a great classic. It's a same Ace wasted himself with substance abuse...still, he will always be remembered as Kiss's first (maybe not best) but foremost guitarist.

  • This is a great song,Best Done By Electric Light Orchestra..but this is still nice

  • this is the best ive heard ace play, makes sense though, he's playin a well written song....

  • Wow Ace really put rock into this. Ace always has that youth sound. KISS really sold him short. No wonder he dressed up as Hitler and tormented Gene.

  • My friend sang and played guitar on this record, including this song! :D

  • Ritchie Scarlett is a God!

  • Butchered a great song. Flame away. This is pure horsesh*t. An offense to musicians and composers. In other words, NOISE. All the beauty of the song, what makes it so wonderful, is totally glossed over.

  • @slickvguy

I have always liked ELO's version but...... at least with Ace I can understand the lyrics. Also this version has a lot more "drive"

  • @slickvguy Great song? You must have a major ear wax build up.

  • @salozmen29 And you have blackened rot instead of a soul.

  • @slickvguy u are a moron.

  • To me clearly the coolest member of the original kiss.

A little too cool for the 2 egomanics Stanley and Simmons.

  • Im not that big of a KISS fan, or their solo offshoots, but this is a tasteful cover of a great song.

  • @theporkiestpig HEY NOW! :) Paul's the gay one... :)

  • A great E L O song re done rather well.

  • what an Acetastic solo

  • lol do ya do ya want the ace other people:OMG YES! me:nah just wanna meet ya.

  • shame on gene and paul for getting rid of ace instead of helping him and peter both with their drug and alcohol problems

  • Ace aced this one!

  • Never cared for the hair bands of the 80's,but ya know what...this sounded pretty good! He ACED it!

  • That jacket is beast.

  • gay --- sorry Ace. You really ought to give it a looooong break.

  • @mickcareolac why dont you take your head out of your ass? Oh wait one more thing, are you listening? ROCK SOLDIERS!

  • Love dat flashin guitar!

  • I love ELO's original and Ace's version just like I love Clapton's version of the great JJ Cale song Cocaine & Skynyrd's version of another great JJ Cale song Call Me The Breeze.

  • Space Ace is beastly but so is Andy SIXX

  • ace is the greatest rock star ever

  • ace rock

  • this song is my favorite by ace frehley the elo cover

  • @theheadbanger42 Yep, this is Ace's best, and as covers go, it's pretty good,. I like how you can understand the lyrics better with Ace's version than Jeff Lynne's ELO original, but nothing beats the original. I'll take ELO's orchestral tunings over metal, just style preference.

  • @scubarulz Agreed

  • Man I dig this song!

  • Go Ace!

  • I want the ACE!

  • I love Space Ace!!!!

  • I LOVE YOU ACE <3<3

  • isn't this Anton Fig on drums, he also plays in the band on David Letterman

  • do ya do ya want the ACE?

    Hell Yeah!

  • Ace: 3:19

    Paul and Gene: Yes!

    Ace: Too bad!

  • @beatlesbiggestfan100 ace has more talent in his right pinky than gene and paul have put together. You can take that to the bank.

  • @paulhickinson I know. thats what i was talkin about

  • A testament to what a fantastic song Do Ya really is.

All three versions, original by The Move, symphonic rock version by Electric Light Orchestra, and 80's big hair version by Ace are all fantastic.

    Rock On :)

  • @flash999999999 I agree 100%. A damn fine song. Someone would have to be beyond atrocious to do any significant damage to it. This version is quite alright, too!

  • Best covet ever well done ACE!!!

  • i saw this on vh1 classic after a kiss song rock n roll all night and then duece came on later, then some dio, scorpions, ozzy and many other great ones it was awesome

  • ace made this song.

  • Why is it that everyone in this video has the same or similar bad haircut that Ace has?

  • AACCEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like this version but you have to know that e.l.o are the true geniuses behind this song

  • what a great song. excellent cover by ACE

  • i still like the original move version better then this and elo

  • Frehley does ROCK all the time!

  • WOW..When was this released. I missed this one..

  • @LBjim October 1989.

  • If Ace was ever going to cover a song, this was the perfect one :)

    ML to my Spaceman <3

  • A little bit (too) playful.... but it will do on a sunny day with some baco's at the pool.

  • great cover! go Ace!

  • i dont like when he says " I Ace" i liked better the elo version in that part

  • You can discribe it with three words: THIS FUCKING ROCKS!!!

  • I'm not one for covers but Ace NAILED this one !!

  • OMG!!!!! Love ELO, but ACE rocks this!

  • Hell Ya!!!!! Great Cover Ace!!!!!!

  • To be honest there are qualities to the E.L.O version that are better and there are qualities to this version that work better as well. I can live with both.

  • ELO is way better....

  • @grint34 lol

  • 'the ace',,good one

  • sooo much freaking better than elo's version

  • @katjimi1 pity Ace never had the talent to write it

  • Pretty damn good cover of ELO's Do Ya. Ace, as usual, knocks it out of the ballpark.

  • Thats what a legend does goes and knocks a song out of the ballpark and I love both versions of the song but must admit Ace brings a heavy sound to it and I love it

  • The Move's "Do Ya," you mean. Now that is obscure but true.

  • It's gross.... but the chicks are insanely hot.

  • Here's Ace, and he is cool!

  • This sounds better than E.L.O.'s version !!! 2 Thumbs Up !!!

  • NOT EVEN CLOSE JEFF LYNNE RULES!!!

  • I like this version despite hating KISS and all their solo stuff

  • Ace just adds that rock feeling to every song he covers...

  • Good tune, Great guitar player, and excellent cover! Rock on Ace!!!

  • sandy slavin is the drummer on this album...peter criss played on a couple songs....i beleive this is not one thow...

  • @MrJimadkins Peter add Percusion but Anto & Sandy Slavin played drums on the Album & Sandy had the live gig

  • Ace is the man, he was worried that his voice couldn't handle this song but as you can all see he aced it!!! Thumbs up from me!

  • ELO, as they sit there listening and twiddling their thumbs: "Boys, we just lost a song."

  • not bad, but needs the violins :) and the rest of strings. Still enjoy the Move and ELO more, but definitely not bad

  • Greatest rock n roll album no one ever heard. A true classic from beginning to end.

  • "Do Ya" was originally recorded by The Move in 1972, as the b-side to their last UK hit single "California Man" (covered famously by Cheap Trick). Jeff Lynne re-recorded the song with ELO in 1976, but he's admitted he prefers the original.

  • the drummer in the video is sandy slavin folks. on the album (trouble walkin') it's anton fig.

  • Also @ Luukeablee, if you want just a tiny sample of Ace's guitar work live, and how little Paul and Gene had to work when he was there, watch KISS live in Madison Square Garden 1996 playing "Let Me Go Rock and Roll.".

  • Big Ace fan, great video. @Luukeablee he didn't mess up his solos, he just played em how ever he felt like playin em. I saw them twice during the reunion years and Ace stole the show. KISS is half a cover band now without Ace and Pete.

  • its actually a cover of the version by The Move

  • @TheHawkdaddy Not so I'm afraid. You can listen to both versions right here on YT if you want to compare. But this is clearly the ELO version without question -- with the addition of the word "ain't" leading into the chorus.

  • Also, Ace himself states it's an ELO cover. Search Ace Frehley - The Making of DO YA on Youtube.

  • @SpongeTube

    You're right my mistake

  • kills e.l.o's. ace for president

  • way better than E.L.O

  • Great version from Space Ace!!!

  • amazing freakin amazing

guys didt you ever notice that ace is 34875389573857 better solo, than with kiss, when he plays with kiss he messed up EVERY solo

  • Kiss is NOT Kiss without Ace!!

  • Oh man, Ace sure nailed this one! He sounds even better than the original!! GO SPACE ACE!!!!

  • @babykillerr1 plays way more bad ass also hahah

  • Ace Frehley IS Rock 'n' Roll!!!

  • ace ROCKS....gene simmons..fuk u !!!

  • ace kinda looks like Tom kiefer of cinderella here a lil bit !

  • i gotta admit Ace does this VERY WELL

, they really pull this song off !!

    LOVE IT !!!

  • wholly crap Ace is sooo good

  • Thats right it is Anton Fig..He was also the original drummer on the old late night w/Leterman.

  • Great quality video! Whos the girl in the video? Ace's daugther?

  • @chrisrose97 That is not a woman, it is Ace's

    gay lover Marcel Peaches>

  • @fntime I don't think that Ace is gay nor do I think the girl is a guy, whats your source?

  • @chrisrose97 The Official Book of Rock n Roll

    written Captain Frank from WNBC!

    He's a genius.

  • drummers name is steve werner on guitar is richie scarlett and john regan on bass ACE FREHLEY FRIGGIN RULES!!!!

  • drummers name is steve werner

  • drummers name is jamie oldaker

  • One of Ace's best vocals he's ever done. This version is so much better than the Elo one.

  • I kinda like's this version better than E.L.O

  • @KissFan1997 Not bad version, but ELO rules

    on this one.

  • who is the other guitar player?

  • I love Ace :)

  • Ace is much kinder then Peter.

  • @ozzygirl05 How can you forget the best member KISS ever had.

  • The drummer in this video is Anton Fig also plays with the David Letterman Band

  • Do anyone know wat the bassist there do for the time being???

  • is this Anton Fig on drums?

  • not bad for a cover, but ELO is better. I think too many have put Ace too high on a pedestal just because he once was a member of KISS. kind of like lemming fans I can hear them now "oh he was a member of Kiss, I must like him better than the original, or I'm not a true Kiss fan" Not knocking Ace, just the fact people think he does better on this song that ELO did. Ace is awesome in his own right, and I do like his cover, but ELO is better, and has the right sound for this song.

  • @TheRealRussG I taotally disagree with you on that. Sorry!

  • I think Ace's version is far superior to the original and I usually hate remakes.

  • 10x better than ELO

  • @EddieRowan Yeah, but it was ELO that WROTE this song, as much as I love Shock Me, Parasite, Rocket Ride, etc. ACE has never written a song this good. But I do love this version. DO YA?

  • This wasn't originally E.L.O. but The Move who did this song first.

  • ACE RULES!

  • I really want the name of the drummer! Please people!

  • @SargeBullRandleman I think he is Anton Fig but i'm not sure

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne But i dont think it look's like anton:S

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne

Yup it is Anton Fig on this album

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne

His name was Jamie Oleander, played on the Trouble Walkin' Tour, Anton Fig did the studio tracks.

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne

His name was Jamie Oleander, played on the Trouble Walkin' Tour, Anton Fig did the studio tracks.

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne Yep its anton..but Peter Criss also plays on this album trouble walking

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne

Its Anton Fig but I dont think its him that appears in the video.

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne It's Anton Fig.

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne ya its anton

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne i think ur right...

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne yeah its Anton. hes an awesome drummer.

  • @SuperJewTV1 I don't think it's Anton, this in 1989 and Anton quit playing with Ace in 1987

  • @OzzyTheOsbourne It certainly is...

  • @SargeBullRandleman it's either Anton Fig or Sandy Slavin

  • @SargeBullRandleman it is anton fig, the same guy who substituted in for Peter Criss on Destroyer cuz peter had kinda left the band

  • @liltookie1727 LOL!!! Peter Criss played on destroyer but anton played on Unmasked and Dynasty! PS Peter played on Dynastys Dirty livin!

  • @SargeBullRandleman It's Sandy Slavin. He came after Jamie Oldaker, who replaced Anton Fig. I was riding the subway and on the Rockefeller Center stop, Will Lee (Letterman's Bass player) got on. I went up to him and told him Anton Fig shoulda stayed with Ace instead of joining The Letterman band. Lee said Anton needed the steady work more than the occasional gig with Ace. I go,"Yeah, but still. It's freaking Ace, for crissakes." Lee smiles, shrugs his shoulders, & gives a "Ehh, Wadya gonna do?"

  • @SargeBullRandleman Sandy Slavin on drums? Doesn't look like Anton Fig.

  • @SargeBullRandleman Anton Fig is playing the drums on the album, but Sandy Slavin is in the video. You can tell Anton Fig's drumming if you have listened to his other stuff he did with Ace.

  • @SargeBullRandleman
