  • que belleza! lastima que no hay grabado lo suficiente sobre estos hermosos pueblos y sus tradicioes de la epoca que aun no estaban contaminadas por el modernismo! la musica que usas es bellisima, saludos!

  • Um, this music is really inappropriate for the film. Silence, or something more traditional would be more appropriate.

  • For people that think we are evolving, thats a load of crap. We are going backwards and can't hold a candle to the depth of culture going on here.

When I watch this I realize, these days we are infact cultureless, we have forgotten where we came from and we don't know where we are going.

  • Amazing-words cannot describe. Alot of people might look at this and think it's just some Native Americans dancing, but to me;there is something really special and really spiritual happening. It starts off with just some simply tapping of the feet, like they are just feeling out the rythm and then BOOM-dude with the feathers breaks out of the stable and all of a sudden everyone is moving in som strange, unintentional sychronicity. I'm ashamed of my ancestors-genocide on a massive scale

  • THIS IS AMAZING!

    wish i could be there.

    i'm proud of them.

  • @julianasaysrawr Thank you Ju!

  • @julianasaysrawr What the Hell thomas a edison

  • what defines me as human being. When I read things like I see on these post's. I feel like a big piece of dung. Even tho I make up a very little of bunch of back grounds. Instead of being opened minded which I am. I get treated like a soulless piece. So just cause one white man has to be an ass don't take it out on all of us. I guess I respect all human kind no matter your back ground. Even tho I feel like I belong to none of it. Being from so much back ground.

  • One fact which may be lost here is that many of Edison's films from this time period were re-enactments made solely for a quick profit. Movies from this time period typically were only interested in "spectacles" or oddities and, no doubt, the Edison studio's interests in filming a Ghost Dance were motivated more by interests in "topical" events & profitability rather than accuracy. If you have any doubts about this, search "Library Of Congress films of the Spanish American War."

  • Well, the music is a poor choice but take it easy man it's not particularly disrespectful. And you underestimate the magic of these people; from their vantage point they do not even trouble themselves to see what's on Youtube!

    Relax.

  • what do you suggest me to do? remove the video?

  • @hozomeenohm what do you suggest me to do? remove the video?

  • disgraceful music wtf man?!?! these people lived and died like we all will..

  • @washkaboi sorry i didn´t get the point :S

  • The Music is inappropriate for this dance...And no its not the Infamous GHOST DANCE. Ones who performed in the dance whore sacred shirt / vest like tops. And there shoulders should be square and position further back and heads held high as they are covered with the protection from the almighty one, Also the Natives preformed the dance in a powerful strong trance which to many solders was scared shitless by witnessing the ceremony. Something that a true Native will never do just for fun.

  • allright,,, i understand... the intention doing this video was to reverence this people i love sooo much... perhaps it has not hit the spot perfectly, but it had good intentions ;)

  • @enshirasmama whore?

  • @enshirasmama You said "whore" as in "prostitute" and meant "wore" as in the past tense of "wear".

  • That's right. I don't recall if the date of the film, but Buffalo Bill had shows as early as 1883, or 7 years before Wounded Knee. Sitting Bull, killed at Wounded Knee, was an "ambassador" to his people, but the US Army shot him while he was on a horse (trained to bow when it heard gunfire...!) given to him by Buffalo Bill. The horse bowed, the soldiers shot Sitting Bull. Whew! Gall, who was involved in Custer's Last Stand, was part of the Lakota with the show.

  • ("recall the date of the film" - 1894, four years after Wounded Knee)

  • wow cool thanks, but who is buffalo bill? :/

  • I won't put my definition of Buffalo Bill here other than to say he was a schister and a user.

    Go to google or wikipedia

  • okay i will :]

is it one of those cases if you say something everyone will attack you verbally? :P

  • okay just looked at it - it pretty much says he's a good guy?? :/

(apart from the fact of wiping out loads of bison) - he was against slavery?? what's wrong with that dude! D:

  • He killed buffalo for no reason. Many he killed was just 4 sport and just rotted. He made money from exploiting AmInds as savages. No one that knows the truth will attack me. My Red Brothers and Sisters may correct me.

  • I agree that making killing the bison for sport is wrong, this is eventually what 'finished (in a sense - not trying to offend anyone) The indians on the plains isn't it?

As for the savages thing - that is wrong too.

  • No, the Lakota (Sioux) involved in Little Big Horn and other encounters with the US Army joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, and recreated something of their abilities as warriors, horsemen, and hunters for the amusement of the royalty of Europe and ordinary Americans. Wounded Knee (about 90 miles from me) in Dec. 1890 ended the "wild Indian" phase, and started the "reservation Indian" phase, If the dance was staged, the Indians and their "costumes" were real.

  • do you mean that these inian were real warriors, and not just they "colonized" sonns and grandsons?

  • the original hip hop here - drum hop

  • The music is Incan or Aymara LOL - sulth american indians.

  • who could dance to that music!?

  • A true person that is aboriginal to Turtle Island.

  • The music from Donkey Kong Country.

  • hahahha

no, it is from a band called cusco, the name is "ghost dance"

  • lol. it really does sound like it.

  • Oh ok, just saw the "Buffalo Bill" sign in the lower right hand corner of the video. So the whole video is fake then.....

  • This is not the "Ghost Dance". Shirts were worn during the dance making them believe that the white man's bullets couldn't hurt them while wearing them. Change your title of your video because it's incorrect.

  • dont like the music, this is an extremely sacred dance. the sound makes it seem like a cheap thing.... so many people tried to keep that dance alive and were slaughted for it , a little more respect please

  • that was not my intentio to disrespect even the ghost dance, than the sioux or any amerindian itself.. if you have a better song for the image of them dancing, upload in a freehost and give me the url and i promise that i would change the song then..

  • sorry for sounding angry towards you. its just the whole thing hurts native people. this video isnt a real ghost dance..those are indians forced to be apart of buffalo bills freak show. its just a reminder of when native culture was taken and forced to be a perversion and the real ghost dance destroyed...it makes me angry and sad, but i dont think you had any intention of doing that

  • Great video! Music is from the band Cusco. This video is excellent!

  • peace to the indians...I love those people

  • Renato: sao descendentes do Atlantes, estes homens. Assim como os celtas e outros

    grande abraço

  • hi,

my Portugese is not so good.are they descendents from Atlantis?is that what you say? and celtas?

    and other geat, hug.

can you translate this in English?

  • Renato: because of your name, i tought you were portuguese speaker.. but portuguese is not that hard, and you have trnslated it very well..

the amerindians, just like the celts and many others, like peruvian incas and the mayas too, are descendants of the atlanteans.. it is fabulous to study the "hidden history", because you learn too much more aboutthe truth human past..

feel free to discuss this if you please..

my email is o.pedro.lobo at gmail :)

    see ya

  • great hug for you too:)
