Ya know the only thing that's a little remiss about the review is the part about general grevious. Now usually expanded universe stuff has to be ignored for this review but to be honest the clone wars cartoon was very much supposed to be the bridging point between episode 2 and three. Maybe that's still something the prequel should have done but I don't know. They advertised for that cartoon alot so I would think anyone who wanted to see star wars saw that as well.

There was another clone wars cartoon on cartoon network animated by genndy tartakovsky that one was made to be in conjunction to the movie. Like an intentional effort to advertise it as something absolutely vital for the movie if you were interested in seeing the third film. The one thats on now is in sitcom subspace and isn't trying to lead up to the third movie.

Well, it's still kinda weird, requiring you to having seen some tv series in order to understand the movie. This guy has an amazing sense of the films and it's truly unique. It makes me weary of the films but at the same time gives me a deeper sense of the entire Star Wars saga but honestly I still like the prequels not as much the originals but still I enjoyed them.

Black Monster Dicks #2 was the most disappointing thing since the Star Wars prequels. It took everything that was so great about Black Monster Dicks #1 and just ruined it. @baschome The problem with this premise is that it is utterly illogical. Watto never said nobody would want to exchange them. Watch the film again. He simply said he won't take them. Why not? Surely, in an interstellar society where it seems all kinds of space traffic occurs there would be some moneychangers, either official or not, available. This is just real life. Even in the Soviet Union, which at one point tried to abolish money, there were some means of liquidity.

You didn't hear anything specific regarding the taxation. All we're told is that there's some sort of conflict over the taxation of trade routes, but who was doing the taxing, and why does the Trade Federation think a blockade is necessary? None of that is pointed out to the audience.

It might cost them some money, but if they are able, through this legislation and others, to eliminate most of their competition, that means they get more of a share of the shipping market. That means in the end they get more money because they are competing with fewer competitors. Get it?
@baschome So, if you read and understood that last post, the Trade Federation might lose some money in the short term, but in the long term would gain huge profits since they have fewer competitors. They almost guarantee their monopoly status in the Republic. And, by virtue of that, whatever money they lose through taxation will probably be channeled right back at them in all kinds of ways.
Is this corrupt? Yes. And it's a better approach to this than what Lucas presents in the EU.

@baschome Also, RR1, the prequels were bad for a lot of reasons, among them a lack of imagination. The story was horrible, contrived, and mis-written. It had no pathos, no drama. There was nothing compelling in the prequels. It relies way too much on green-screen CGI to where the actors' performances come off wooden, sterile, and lacking any passion, not that they weren't already written that way to begin with. You clearly have no film appreciation experience.
@BWGgy As for them turning from the Dark Side, maybe. Some will, some won't. I find that the more films you see the better your appreciation of films gets. Case in point, I loved the Transformers feature cartoon film back in the 80s, and thought it was great. But, looking back, it's not that great, but in fact a 2 hour long commercial for toys with plotholes all over the place. I got over it because it's just a film that I don't base my life around.

With Sidious's help they can get a lot of things passed that seem innocent, banal and innocuous, but in reality favor them and close off any competition. They can do this because they have direct representation in the Senate, which means they can propose and vote on legislation, insert amendments, and do things most citizens cannot do. That, is why you fail.

Black Monster Dicks #2 was the most disappointing thing since the Star Wars prequels. It took everything that was so great about Black Monster Dicks #1 and just ruined it. Surely, in an interstellar society where it seems all kinds of space traffic occurs there would be some moneychangers, either official or not, available. This is just real life. It might cost them some money, but if they are able, through this legislation and others, to eliminate most of their competition, that means they get more of a share of the shipping market. That means in the end they get more money because they are competing with fewer competitors. Get it?

@baschome So, if you read and understood that last post, the Trade Federation might lose some money in the short term, but in the long term would gain huge profits since they have fewer competitors. They almost guarantee their monopoly status in the Republic. And, by virtue of that, whatever money they lose through taxation will probably be channeled right back at them in all kinds of ways.
Is this corrupt? Yes. And it's a better approach to this than what Lucas presents in the EU.

@baschome Also, RR1, the prequels were bad for a lot of reasons, among them a lack of imagination. The story was horrible, contrived, and mis-written. It had no pathos, no drama. There was nothing compelling in the prequels. It relies way too much on green-screen CGI to where the actors' performances come off wooden, sterile, and lacking any passion, not that they weren't already written that way to begin with. You clearly have no film appreciation experience.

@BWGgy As for them turning from the Dark Side, maybe. Some will, some won't. I find that the more films you see the better your appreciation of films gets. Case in point, I loved the Transformers feature cartoon film back in the 80s, and thought it was great. But, looking back, it's not that great, but in fact a 2 hour long commercial for toys with plotholes all over the place. I got over it because it's just a film that I don't base my life around.

@baschome You still don't quite get it. The Trade Feds can buy friends, do favors, trade their vote for other pieces of legislation. With Sidious's help they can get a lot of things passed that seem innocent, banal and innocuous, but in reality favor them and close off any competition. They can do this because they have direct representation in the Senate, which means they can propose and vote on legislation, insert amendments, and do things most citizens cannot do. That, is why you fail.

@baschome More ignorance. You really don't know how these things work do you? Money has a lot of influence, and politicians like to get re-elected, and they like to make deals. You are woefully naive to consider that more than enough senators (which, if you had been paying attention, were considered corrupt anyway by the films themselves) were so incorruptible not to have been influenced to vote the Trade Fed's way. Why not? And who's to say the Trade Fed's bill is corrupt?

@baschome I mean, really. Why can't you get any of these very basic concepts? You say you're from the Netherlands, as I recall. If you came to the United States with Euros, and you wanted to buy something here, chances are the vendor would tell you he can't take that, but then might tell you where you can exchange them. That's pretty basic shit that flies right over your head. And then, you see what you want to see, believing that Tattooine has no such means of exchanging money, but why?
