  • where the fuck is Yoshiki from X JAPAN ?

  • Joey Jordison #1???

You're outta your fuckin' mind, dumbass!!!

    He isn't even top 10!!!

    See...drugs ARE bad for ya!!!

  • Joey Jordison is number one? FUCK OFF!! Portnoy or Peart, not Jordison..... What about CHRIS ADLER????

  • Nicko mcbrain trumps all!!!

  • @maidenljc humps all, maybe!!

Vinnie & Neil blow them all off the face of the planet!!!

  • Too bad you can't ask Mike Portney how he feels about being ahead of Peart.he'd laugh! That is his Idle.Joey maybe 10 unless he gets points for having a rising and tilting drum set. as much as I hate to say it,Lars belongs on this list before Joey.

  • Phil fucking Collins!?!?!?! Unless this is the 80's decade, that aint true. And Dave Grohl doesn't play drums anymore to any relevent degree. This list is terrible and smacks of utter bias. Where's Tony Royster Jr. or any other fresh talent that's SMOKIN' some of the "greats"?

  • peart 1, bonzo 1. its a tie on those 2. Then i would say the list would be right going down from there.

  • Which decade? Neil Peart has been on every Top Whatever list for 5 decades...and he is a better lyricist than dummer...and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke until Rush is in.

  • @atnguy Absolutely!!!!!!!

  • What a idiot, Jordison is a drummer banger...Neil Peart is the the art...the muse....

  • @carjack69 You got it!!

  • Where is Jerry Mercer????

  • @powerslide000 I'm guessin' somewhere in Canada!!

    ;-)

  • what a bunch of fucking bullshit!

  • Joey Jordison should be 4 and Neil Peart 1. And what about Jimmy Sullivan from Avenged Sevenfold?

  • ''Where the fuck is Bonzo.....''

  • Where's Keith Moon?

  • Where is Bonzo?!

  • Where the fuck is Bonzo.....

  • @LedZepfilm thats what i was thinkin

  • What about Animal from the muppets asshole

  • phil collins......u got to be jokeing ???? wheres carl palmer

  • shame on you and your opinion... neil peart at #4 and joey jordison at #1? i know u said that there is no best drummer, but there is a better drummer, and neil peart is 10000 times better that joey jordison

  • This is funny.... I think this is just who u think is best. Not even close .lol

  • Niel Peart is the best drummer out of those ten. Have you seen the size of his drumkit?

  • @penguin0430 I agree! How is he #4!? Rush is so underappreciated it makes me weep....

  • bad list cause the rev is missing...

  • A lot of factors involved... A lot of GREAT drummers out there... Each of them are great to there own style and to their own bands.... To their genre of music ... There ain't no best or no worst... All of them have talent according to their place in history.... Personally, I like Neil Peart but that's not to say he's the best !!!

  • the best drummer is that guy from dave matthews, neil pert is second.

  • @soulfly547 Other way around dude.

  • Mike Botts

  • Not bad.

  • Colaiuta is 8? Dude, he should up by Neal Peart, who should be number 1. Better than Jordison by a mile, same with Colaiuta.

  • danny carey

  • screw joey!!! neil owns the list

  • Jo Jo Mayer, Johnny Rabb, Aaron Spears, Gavin Harrison...

  • The dudes that write that magazine are dumb fuckers

  • #1-#10 Neil Peart (Rush)

  • I refuse to call any list with Joey Jordison and Travis Barker a list of drummers.

  • @fasionroadkill No no no. Let's not get carried away. I do not agree with this list either. Or with Joey Jordison being the top drummer of the last 25 years. But he is nevertheless a serious drummer. And a very seriously talented one. Despite the different opinion that each of us may have of the bands that he happens to be associated with. Nothing to do with bloody Travis Barker

  • What the fuck is this list? Where is the drummer of between the Buried and me?! Where the fuck is the drummer of The Black Dahlia Murder?! It should be illegal to have a best drummers list without these 2 men on it!

  • @iurhviusdfavhi You're bombing off like that, as if someone left out some of the legendary ones like Bonham or Haake or Peart or Portnoy, but then all of this is just for people whose names you dont even find important enough to mention??

  • SOooo...SORRY! Boys Most of ya were not born when Neil was in His PRIME. Neil Lived in Niagara, RUSH Player ALL over Here, seen them ALL, I've BEEN 2 The country Farm, That NO ONE Knows about, My Mom is related 2 Neil, I have sat at that country Farm, with Neil's Uncle, BUT, aside from all of that, NO ONE commanded a KIT, Like Neil

World Class Rock Drummer, because of Neil...RockettBobebuzz

  • As 1 said, picking #1 depends on style-limited list-missed Terry Bozzio, Danny Carrey, Buddy Rich/Gene Krupa (& all jazz guys), Chad Smith, Phil Collins (listen to Brand X), Ginger Baker, Ian Paice, Stewart Copeland, Appice, Erskine, Portnoy, Colaiuta, Minnerman, Carl Palmer...the list is endless, and they all play different styles, different musice, so saying somebody is #1 is impossible. There's too much talent out there that "list" missed. As the comments say, it misses incredible drummers

  • @danart65 Technique; Aesthetics; Style; Innovation; Dominance; Knowledge; Influence; Importance. Just a few of the parameters by which IT IS 'possible' to estimate how gifted and of how much value a drummer was to his craft, his colleagues, his time, to the world. To do this, you need a group of people who really know about music and music history and percussion and even reason itself. And they must deeply get to know the life and work of ALL drummers on their list. Wasnt the case here

  • @ghoawaynetcabo ya, it's hard to include ALL drummers, as each one brings his own special style and technique to the music. Way back, a friend of mine's dad, a pro jazz drummer with a steady gig at the Royal York Hotel, had trouble learning the cymbal/off snare beat for disco-he was an awesome jazz drummer, but had difficulty with that beat. I also heard Charlie Watts had trouble doing the cowbell beat on Brown Sugar, as it wasn't his style. Powerhouse metal double bass has it's own stars

  • You missed all the jazz/prog/rock drummers, like Bill Bruford, Dave Weickl, Jack DeJohnette, Billy Cobman, Steve Gadd, Phil Collins, Airto Moriera, Jon Christenson (Softmachine), Lenny White & many more. John Bonham derserves a mention, or Keith Moon. Steve Gadd is the best studio drummer, with Jack DeJohonette & Billy Cobham as technical wizards. Thash/metal are sub-genres...I've left out many drummers -even Neil Peart, who's worth a mention-very limited list-consider jazz and prog rock

  • Simon phillips. That's all I need to say.

  • Every time someone mentions Travis Barker being one of the best modern drummers I just giggle. A lot.

  • Slipknot sucks. There drummer can play a double bass petal really fast... whoo-hoo!

    Good for him!

Neil Peart is is number one. Enough said.

  • where is Bill Bruford?

  • Thumbs down for Travis Barker and Joey Jordison.

  • im sorry are we forgeting a man named danny carey in this video

  • Buddy Rich, Neil Peart, John Bonham, Mike Portnoy, and Alan White. In any order, these should be the top 5. 3 of which are not even on this list..

  • not even close you forgot so many before these guy's. joej who get real. check out CARL PALMER california jam solo. what about Buddy rich. tommy aldrage. joey could not even come close to these guy's do some home work

  • no Jimmy Sullivan?

  • Bollacks ...

  • Comment removed

  • @pinkdamson you think Neil Peart was the first drummer to institute multiple meter changes in a song?....I don't even know how to respond

  • Comment removed

  • More like a beauty pageant to me...

  • wtf is this !! psh finding a better list

  • Chad Smith sucks

  • Vinnie Colaiuta No #8 too funny....what a fucked up list?? Phil Collins???where is Tony Royster Junior, JoJo Mayer, Steve Gadd, Marco Minneman, Dave Weckl, Virgil Donati, Thomas Prigden, Chris Coleman, Gavin Harrison, etc etc................

  • where's Chris Adler?

  • I think neil Peart is the best. But the list is good. But like it says.Hard to say best because they all have their own style.

  • @weidnerc1 i agree that neil is the best. and also that it is hard to say because of their different styles.

  • Travis barker ! :D

  • If a list of "best drummers" doesn't include Carter Beuford, then it's not much of a list.

  • Worst list in history! Jojo Mayer would play circles around portnoy or jordison. Harrison is probably the best, imo on this list. They really fucked up putting Barker on there...

  • @NUProductions4Music

the whole notion of" best drummer" is pretty silly

what we need to look at is popularity amongst all drummers. a popularity contest is a taste test and not a intellectual discussion.

  • John Longstreth?

  • CARL PALMER.... who's He?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

  • You left out Dave Lombardo.

  • This is as ridiculous as any drummer list out there.

  • where is danny carey.....?

  • Neil Peart #4??????? That invalidates everything!

  • What about Pete Sandoval? Way better than Jordison imo ;-)

  • If I had to make a list of living drummers.... Well, 1. Vinnin Colaiuta, 2. Steve Smith. 3. Mike Mangini, 4. Steve Gadd, 5. Jojo Mayer, 6. Thomas Lang, 7. Gene Hoglan, 8. Dave Weckl, 9. Danny Carey, 10. Joey Jordison...

  • *Cough Thomas Lang *cough...

  • Joey Jordison better than Neil Peart? You make me want to puke all over your face

  • Neil pert is 4 that's not right

  • Dennis Chambers, Brian Blade, Keith Carlock, Mark Guiliana, Dave Weckl, Steve Jordan, Steve Smith??

  • Can't believe Vinnie is in the same list as Travis Barker!?!

    This is so stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • This list is based off of a goddamn poll that some shitty magazine did. DRUMMING COMMUNITY, I AM DISSAPOINT

  • for you all ignorant people that have been saying shit... just read the description I didn't do the list, I just made a video of it, just go to the source of the creator (the UK best selling Drums magazine) and tell them what you want.

  • @shipaudas lol, people can never say who is the best when they don't even separate style from ability. stylistically you can think whatever you want of these drummers, but ability wise, none of these guys are in the top ten of the world. but the best one would probly be gavin harisson.

  • @shipaudas True, but really unimportant. This is Yourtube. What do YOU think about the video that YOU posted. What do You think about this top 10 and about their top 20 as well.

  • @ghoawaynetcabo wanna meet your mom's tube? champ?

  • @shipaudas Great contribution dude. Now we REALLY know where the author of the video stands in this discussion. Stands for a neutral uneducated pussy! I should know better by now than to try to promote intelligent conversation on youtube anyway...

  • @shipaudas Vinnie Colaiuta and Gavin...Yes!!! The rest of those asswipes, well???

  • Vinnie Colaiuta and Gavin Harrison beat the shit out of all of them. Putting Travis Barker in the list just invalidates everything.

  • I like pancakes

  • JOEY JORDISON!?!? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!?!? I hope somebody beats the shit out of you soon. I would, but I don't know your location, so I'll just leave it up to fate. You deserve it. Not only for putting that piece of shit drummer on there, but for putting him as #1. AND over Mike Portnoy and Neal Peart. Theres no opinion here. He straight up sucks.

  • Just like assholes, everyone has an opinion. Where is Terry Bozzio?

  • What's the song in this??

  • @Cr4nium13 The band is Alter Bridge, the ´new´ Creed. Dont remember the name of the song, and im too lazy to google the lyrics, when you can do it yourself.

  • Thats too funny!

  • Shannon larkin from godsmack... his material is better than half the people on here

  • you have to remember that he didnt wrote any drum part for godsmack, they were done by the singer hes the genius in that band

  • i can think of 50 people better than jordinson. he is nothing lol

  • Number ONE is Chad Smith!!!! Always and for ever!!!

  • Portnoy and peart 2 of my favorite drummer those that mean they are the est no i just like their way of playing

  • Joey and barker are soooo overrated

  • what are joey and travis have in common? they both not deserve the prestige they get

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK THE REV SHOULD BE IN THIS LIST.

  • 1. danny carey

    2. gavin harrison

    3. ???

    6000000000. Joey J.

    6000000001. Travis Barker

  • hahaha gavin... and neil peart are the only ones i personally think should be on this list....what about danny carey ...bill bruford...portnoy has good skills... i just never really hear anything original from him.. his material to me is just typicaal metal played very percise... but nothing unique...oh and sean reinert

  • What the hell is going on.. How can Travis Barker and Dave Grohl be on this list? Travis Barker is not a drummer, he just hit things with twigs and Dave Grohl's time of greatness was in the 90's with Nirvana. I don't get this.

  • you wanna know what I think....you have a very skewed opinion of what makes a drummer 'good'...Barker shows of for people who know nothing about good technique, Jordison is a double bass cheater (if look at some of his vids, he straps his feet to the pedals and uses a triplet pedal that makes two notes with only one tap of the foot)...and where the fuck is Danny Carey on this

  • it goes

    1. Gavin

    2. Neil

    3. Portnoy

  • AHAAHAHAH....Joey Jordison better than Gavin Harrison....hahahahahahahaaahahaaaaaaaaaa... lol man!

  • jojo mayer the best of all?

  • where the fuck is john bonham?

  • And finally, only taking in mind the present list, my top would be:

    1. Neil Peart (no doubt about it)

    2. Vinnie Colaiuta

    3. Mike Portnoy

    4. Gavin Harrison

    5. Chad Smith (for those who believe he's only a "rockstar drummer", check him out more seriously his stuff, he's great).

Thanks for giving us the posibility to discuss about drummers, no matter the personal taste or knowledge about drums.

    Have a nice time!!!.

  • ...Dom Famularo, Dennis Chambers, Rod Morgenstein, Horacio "el negro" Hernández, Joey Heredia, Akira Jimbo, Nick D'Virgilio, Thomas Pridgen, Virgil Donatti, John Macaluso, Dean Castronovo, Danny Carey, Uli Kusch, Mike Terrana... and the list of great drummers out there could go on, but I mostly mention the last 25 because:

    a. They're legends and also most of them are my favourites, so, you check'em out and enjoy'em.

    b. They represent the best (or almost the best) in their music genres.

  • 3. About drummers like Barker or Jordison, I would say; Barker is fine but his style... doesn't fill my shoes, and about Jordison, yeah, he's fast, really, but at the same time is so plane and also with no feeling on each drumbeat (IMO).

    4. I'm apologize, for real, but where the hell have you left drummers like: Buddy Rich, Ginger Baker, Ian Paice, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Jeff Porcaro, Stewart Copeland, Steve Smith, Terry Bozzio, Simon Phillips, Carmine Appice...

  • Ok, I'm just going to mention some things about this "Top".

    1. A good thing that I found on this top, was the fact that there are drummers who plays "different styles" of music, so, you can choose your favourite taking in mind that.

    2. I'm a little confused because the title of the video says: "Top 10 drummers of the decade", so, my question is... which decade are you referring to?. I guess you mean to "last decade".

  • Travis Barker is #1

  • Really, Jordison and Barker?! You're joking right?

  • You put Phil Collins in there for a joke, right? ;)

  • Travis Barker... Joy Jordison... Chad Smith... Dave Grohl...

    BHUAHUAHUAHAUAHUAHUAHUAHUAHU

never ever listen about Donati? Bozzio? Lang? Minnerman? Chambers? and so many other who really are drumers... Jordison.. OMG xD BHUAHAUAHUAHUAU

  • Travis Barker shouldn't be on there, he puts a bad name on music. Jordison shouldn't be on there. Peart comes before Portnoy says Portnoy himself. So it goes #1 Peart, #2 Portnoy, #3 Harrison... and so forth. Someone may even become before Harrison.

  • what kind of bullshit is this???

  • Every self-restecpa drummer should grin by seeing a list like this one.

  • Let's not forget Sheila E., Dennis Chambers, Carter Beauford, Tony Royster Jr. Just to name a few. But really.... Travis Barker?......

  • Wrong.

  • ???? JORDISON chi

    E'...............

  • @pioggiachenasce Il batterista degli Slipknot..

  • not sure why travis barker, dave grohl and joey jordison are here.

  • it took only the 10th place for me to stop watching........

  • Gavin Harrison and Mike 'P +1

  • Jordison? I thought this was best drummer of the decade, not best double bass.

  • HAHA jordison better than Mike Portnoy ???

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    enough said.

  • has everybody forgot the first line of the clip already??? quote :" There is NO best drummer, the best drummers cannot be judged (interpreted: compared to one another) because each one has a (its) very own way to play" end of quote.

  • fuck travis barker like blink hate him

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Where is Lars Ulrich ? Oh ! Nowhere ! Hahahahahahahahahahahah Lars sucks !! Hahaha

  • @Alexawrgren lars ulrich is one of the fucking best.....fuck off bro Thankyou:)

  • @OfficialFatality Hahaha Lars is just one drummer, he es not one of the best ! ;D

  • Gavin and forget the rest

  • "lord joey "br00talz" jordison... better than portnoy"

holy shit now I gotta puke and vomit all I ate

  • stanton moore, benny greb, thomas lang, marco minneman, steve gadd, mike mangini, travis orbin, virgil donati, danny carey, ringo starr.

theres 10 other drummers you should check out, to reconsider your list.....

  • @datommaster ringo starr for keith moon

  • You forgot Marcus from cradle of filth

  • where is Lombardo?......Joey Jordison ?...you must be kiddin'me

  • Dumb list. Nicko Mcbrain should be like number 3. Peart #1. Travis barker not even on the list. Joey Jordison definitely not #1. lol

  • Yeah, also forgot Bill Bruford and Tony Royster Jr. and Carter Beauford and Terry Bozzio and Peter Erskine and lots and lots more.

  • jordison first? lol

  • lol this sucks... seriously... what the fuck.... mayby most shittiest thing is that jordison is number 1 and neil peart 4.....

  • Typo on #9 - Should read Phil Collins (Brand X)

    ;)

  • Where is Lars?

  • @OfficialFatality in hell...

  • @OfficialFatality At position 3092349840589 becuase he fucking sucks.

  • No, this is wrong...

  • Mike Portnoy......First place please!!

    :)

  • gavin harriason needs to be at the top!!

  • @Joshepoos he is the only one - of all shown here - who deserves to stay in a list named like this
