After discovering the fabric of reality, love became difficult for me, since I find it difficult to love the things which women in general are brought up to be.
While most birds are, as you said, more male-focused in sex-selected traits, other species display little sex-selection (identical or little morphological difference), or female sex-selected traits. In homo sapiens both sexes display sex selected traits, not just females. So rest easy in your analogy. Its even more diverse than you've portrayed. No need to describe humans as 'opposite' of nature....maybe look into how you used that rhetorical device in your argument, and why?
But how can you account for homosexuality? What function does it serve in evolutionary terms, bearing in mind that some sientists believe it to be passed on genetically?
I don't think its genetic, at least not exclusively. There is WAY too much evidence that when men are seperated from female company, they turn to homosexuality. Like in prisons, in Islamic countries and in ancient Greece (philosophically they believed women were inferior, so they sought male-male love).
"There is WAY too much evidence that when men are seperated from female company, they turn to homosexuality." - from above.
I would not only have to read the article, but have it confirmed by other scientists in many other articles and studies, because there is WAY too much evidence that when men are seperated from female company, they turn to homosexuality.
Men collect cars, build huge houses to impress women. This is also about being fancy and attractive. In love, the importance of wealth stays in the background but approaching age 30, women want to marry the richest guy they can. I was speaking in average and I don't blame anybody for their priorities.
Ohhh, naw I just didn't get the the statement. ^_^ Than I defintly agree. Men are much more likly to be picky about how women look, and of course I blame the media.
That part was kind of a joke (because lots of people blame the media for everything), it's not all the medias 'fault' it's a combination of external factors especially family life and society.
Oh yea and history plays a role too. Sicne back ago women weren't suppose to be educated so all they had to attract a guy with would be looks. Adn still stuff in today's society promotes that way of thinking.
I'm female, and I'm very concerned with a guy's looks. Brad Pitt didn't become famous for his acting ability, although he did end up being a pretty good actor. Women *love* good looking guys. But most men, like yourself, are in denial about that and so don't bother to make the effort to work out.
Where did you get this idea that women are less concered about looks than men are? "women compete with each other by upping the ante nature gave them - with cosmetics, clothing, etc... " won't that be being concerend about looks?
Ummm, breats, hips, lips, eyes, soft skin, long hair.... why do you think the muslims make women cover up? Not because men are naturally beautiful, but because women are naturally beautiful. women compete with each other by upping the ante nature gave them - with cosmetics, clothing, etc...
"So few men take care..." Because women are less concerned with looks than men. Women are less superficial that way. They just like the guy to have money (just kidding).

I like the stuff that you talk about...
But to say that you are thinking about "complex metaphyisical stuff that no one thinks about" is completly wrong and abit arrogant.

it's genetic it came out in discover magazine
it's several genes working together
as well as the wiring of the brain some gay people have a female hypothalamus
it all depends on the hormone levels in the womb
and some genetics

yeah but, not all or majority of gays have gone to jail.
there is also evidence siting its roots in genetics
and brain structure

Well, its not the media's fault. We'll talk about this later. Maybe.

I didn't say women are NOT concerned with looks. I said they are LESS concerned than men.

Their own looks, not men's. You changed the subject, see?
cropperb 4 years ago
Human females are not more decorated by nature. Hair, cosmetics, clothing-- all of this is artificial.
Human females are less colorful than human males are.

Good looking men are a similar temptation, but so few men work out and take care of themselves that it usually isn't an issue.
