If it wasn't for Charlie Sexton, Arc Angels wouldn't be crap!!!! Doyle ain't diddly live. He might find 6 minutes of good tape in the studio, but he ain't sh*t live !!!.... ALL HAIL Charlie Sexton !! :-D
Why the shades Doyle? It was a demon called Cocaine that still had him by the balls at this point. I saw one of the four farewell concerts they gave at the Backyard in Austin I believe in '94 or '95, Doyle had just got out of rehab and sounded better than ever before, it was bittersweet because he had come so far beating the demon, but it was too late for the Angels. Anyone have anything to add or correct me on? Feel free. Just an old Austin music lover....
Bramhalls voice is smooth and powerful, Sexton's slightly gravelly but totally cool, and bluesy. Who wouldn't want one of these guys singin for them. No one, except the tone deaf. Play off and complement each other almost like no other. My two bits on the voices. Inventiontensions comments still hilarious and apt.
I like this video because unlike their other videos...Arc Angels has the rythmn section playing with them this set... adreambeach loves Arc Angels because they're soooo smokin HOT!!
One of my all time favorite albums/cd's!! So sad they never continued on. I think I read Doyle had drug issues back then. Lately you can see him backing up Clapton on his Crossroads gigs. Doyle also kicks ass on the Roger Waters DVD somebody already mentioned on here.
I remember this show....stayed up to watch it and record it on VHS....as they went to commercial, Paul's band started playing Wind Cries Mary and Charlie Sexton started playing along with them.
best live jam ever...omni-new daisy, Beale Street, memphis, 1993. thanks MIKE SEDATED for the post. what happened to "Good Time" from letterman? somebody please post that one again!
Doyle is no longer catatonic. Search "Roger Waters - Comfortably Numb LIVE" and see him these days. Also, "Before the Music Dies", a movie anyone who enjoys music should watch, is on Hulu for free and has some interviews and performances by Doyle.
I'm from England. First heard this on a beach in Santorini, Greece. Bought the CD on return. Can anyone explain why there seems to so much venom attached to this?
with great talent comes great turmoil. some of the most fantastic music and talent I have ever heard. I cross my fingers and say a prayer that there will be more from them.
Haven't you gone away? Go F yourself in a tiny closet lined with spiders and scorpions. Uh....then I might be satisified after you've been bitten and stung to death : )
Hi, Mike. Thanx for share this post with the real Arc Angels and DBII fans. Great band, great tunes... This CD is one of my favorites ... And Doyle is dazzling in the vocals and playing guitar ... I can not stop listen them!I love it!!!Keep the faith!!! Luv & respect from Brazil...
