Yep, my experience is that Aetna is a good for nothing scumball company that uses some pretty creative tactics to try and weasel out of their obligations. In fact, my doctor calls them "AETNO". We go with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Going through a bad time with Aetna, I hate them, I hope everything works out for you. My wife paid for LTD for 20 years, now she can't work, Aetna simply won't pay. Got a lawyer, he pretty much said how the law is we are screwed, they get away with it.

Dude I am sorry for that. As I always say, welcome to Aetna. They do not cover for much especially when it requires an expensive treatment or device.
