  • I just wanted to press louder, than I recognized, that I couldn't anymore! This is genious, to play it not loud, well it is for me, and I don't play the guitar so ^^

  • I've had the opportunity to hear him play this in person...Amazing!

  • @treboryevrah Wonderful, I also heard him play this in person. Also, my brother played it in Carnegie Hall.Would live to be able to play like this myself!.

  • @Serenjexroad love to be able lol

  • Tremolo master

  • esos 15 q pusieron no me gusta maldita ignorancia pobres pendejos

  • My dream neighbor!!!

  • Watching this has made me figure out I've done this song wrong. In fact, I've done all the music I've played wrong. It's not positions and speed. It's about emotion. This really moved me to tears. I'm amazed at what I could accomplish if I could just add emotion.

  • @screenname12341 Reading your comment made me smile and feel good. It's great to know that great music can make us realize important things about ourselves, without words even. Emotion and honesty is what great music is all about, technique is improving all the time, and that's great, virtuosos can be a joy, even awesome to listen to, but someone's soul coming through no matter how simple the style can blow you away, well it can for me anyway! All the best with the music! ;)

  • Bravo!

  • 14 people must be deaf.

  • @austinjosephbw

    15 already :P

  • Many say my recording is the best of this great piece, however, I like this one better.

    Jim Greeninger

  • @bransonguitar

    well they are both good

you have a diffrent style of playing then he.

and that is good. because nobody knows how Francisco Tárrega Eixea playd this piece.

so no i cant choose who is better. you got both a perfect guitar style.

  • He messes up at 035...listen

  • @sarothra0906 Hey, He is a man not a Machine! If you want to comment, please write something useful and clever.

  • "Los Romeros" are THE GREAT FAMILY of classical guitar playing. Pepe is one of the brothers. Their guitar playing and technique is just sublime, beautiful.

  • Woah this guiy is the creme de la creme! thnx for beautiful post :)

  • He makes it look absolutely effortless - amazing! It really looks like he "feels" the music rather than "plays" it.

  • WOW! Amazing control of dynamics and tempo! Wonderfully played. This is the guitar song i want to learn to play the most, working my way up there ;D

  • I like this performance :)

  • Just amazing playing! And such a nice man. I had the great pleasure of hanging out with Pepe and his whole extended family (Including the other 3 guitarists who make up Los Romeros) Everyone was so welcoming and open. Guess that is part of why all of their playing is so incredible!

  • @MrJKTenor The whole family are gentlemen and outgoing as well as being great musicians! that includes pepis son who makes incredible guitars! I really liked meeting pepi, celin, celedonio and angel many years ago at Julius Gidos guitar shop. I didn't meet pepi junior, but I was pleased to have been present recently for a recital by pepi sr. playing every tenth guitar that Pepi Jr. Made, and they were all magnificent !

  • Thank You for posting this Video and thank You, Mr. Pepe Romero, for playing so wonderful. This is the most beutiful version of this composition, I' ve ever heard. Best regards from Regensburg, Germany!

  • the fingering style is called tremolo, i have to agree this is probably the hardest style of playing style in classic guitar, especially to make it sound so natural where it sounds like there are 2 guitars being played

  • narcisso yepes's version races a bit,but the tremelo is compelling, and loud.mr romero fudges a bit

in carrying the trm melody, and misses a few slurs.but plays this more poetically

al martinos spanish eyes carries well in d maj (tune down 1st string.

anyone know of a duo that does this?

    youtube gilson vergara.

Pepe Romero executa a peça com o coração.

  • one of the sicest guitar songs i know

but i like classical and classical guitar it is so hard to can play

this technique of playing is the hardest to lurn for classical guitar.

but a very good and nice song!

    Cheers!

  • I saw Ana Vidovic perform this last night in Jacksonville FL and it was perfect!

  • Wonderful performance.

So calm, a true musician. Thanks so much for posting.

    Brian.

  • bravo pepe!!!!

  • Please Check Yvonne Helkenberg! Am I the only one who thinks this lady tremolo is one of the best even comparing to all the maestros?

  • @danud321 I agree!!

  • Comment removed

  • wow! reali nice!! perfect time, perfect hand position, realy nice!

  • He might be the best...very calme performance

  • who wrote this masterpiece?

  • @TandBcomedycreators

"Recuerdos de la Alhambra (translation: Memories of the Alhambra) is a classical guitar piece composed in 1896 by Spanish composer and guitarist Francisco Tárrega[1]. He wrote it in Granada. Additionally, Ruggiero Ricci created an arrangement of this piece for the violin."

  • Así se hace!!!!!

  • He used to play at the San Diego Civic center a lot. Great concerts!

  • All you who writng comments. you seem to be suprised over the skills. This guy is one of the worlds best classic guitarists. It aint that strange that he´s good or should i say god..!

  • @Leongrimaldi Well put, i have a old cassette with him doing flamenco...I lost it now cant find another..Any suggestions? It was a mixed tape on one side and the other all pepe..peaceout

  • Do you want me to transcribe it?

  • I have a soft spot for Pepe- I first heard spanish guitar with him playing, so for me, he's the "one"

    just gorgeous

    Bellissima interpretazione...

  • his playing is so touching, so beautiful words cannot describe

  • Because this playing has its own soul

  • yes, true, many play this but only some with the heart and soul

    Exelente interpretacion..

    Bravo

  • Maravillosa interpretación

  • 3.10...it's just mmmm!!

  • Miguel Rodriguez

  • I love to transcribe music

  • Does anyone know what guitar Pepe uses here?

  • he play is haqnd made self guitar

  • wow, i'm a pianist and don't know a lot about guitar music, but this is played absolutely wonderfully, isn't it?

  • I agree with you on that, i've heard his wife play this (i'm her student, yay me!) and even though she's out of practice it still sounds wonderful. She taught me how to play this (duet version) and says that he plays this very, very, very quickly, normally played lasting over 5 min because lotta people can't play the full single version correctly without mistakes in less than five minutes or something like that.

  • @dinulipatti1950 Yepes is better

  • @dinulipatti1950

not as good as segovia, feeling wise, but his tremolo is more uniform

  • no, danud321, you are not alone. Pepe's version is one of the best, but I also agree that Yvonne Helkenberg has a brilliant tremolo technique. Just a shame about the quality of the video & sound on her posting though. And if you listen very carefully, she occasionally goes awry with the timing, whereas Pepe maintains a more consistent tempo throughout. Still, they both manage to avoid the infamous 'gallop', and if I could play it as well as either of them, I would be a very happy guitarist.

  • I think it's a good song altough I've heard better performances but romero is good

  • Iheard it at Mewdelin , my country in apresentation of Mr. Pepe Romero and all the public was captivated by the enormous abbilty and the joy He inspires in all of his performances. We are lloking forward to have him back as soon as possible.

  • wonderful

this piece of guitar playing makes every artist show his difficulties. this one is big in great technique and personality.

i play this one by myself but the end made me cry.

    again

  • The sound is pianissimo, but the soul is present!

  • As good as this piece is played "straight up", this "thinking man´s" interpretation lifts it up to a higher level - thrilling!

  • this video sound is not the way it should be.

it sound as if it is comming from under the water. the clarity lacks. I have the old original cd and i know how it should sound.

  • Perfect execution of a masterpiece.

  • no como santana? no puedes comparar santana y pepe romero !

  • just like in this video, i saw this guy live and he didnt use a mic, it was too quite, it was winter, and everyone in the audience was caughing, it was shitty. good player tho

  • yeah even people like paco de lucia and vicente amigo use mics live, although they're really loud without them.

    Saludos!

  • amazing how his tremelo is seemless between string changes, Ive got it down ok but this guy is amazing, I have been fortunate to have a good friend who knows Celino, a nephew of Pepe's, who was kind enough to show me a few pointers on how to play his song not only accurately , but with emotion and conviction as well!! Awesome video, one of my favorites

  • With Memories

    Salu2

  • That's crazy. The day I can play tremolos like this... eh... will probably never come.

  • LOL...

He dont have fingers he have a gun muchine....

  • awesome.....beautiful
