  • Favorite track in the game right here.

  • I just thought you were referring to a Monty Python sketch... :)

    watch?v=T70-HTlKRXo

  • Ah, okay. I'm actually not a fan of Monty Python, so I never saw this sketch. Thanks for the enlightenment.

  • TINNY! TINNY! Such an awful word...! :)

  • It is, but I couldn't think of anything better.

  • I've uploaded a good number of the PSX version's songs, which I do prefer quality wise.

However, the nostalgia of the SNES version can't be beat.

  • But the quality of this BGM is best in 64 than PSX.

However, me too prefer the Snes version

  • I agree. The N64 version gets it just right, maintinaing the fullness of the original with the instrument quality of the PSX.

For the most part, the PSX tracks sound, for lack of a better word, tinny.

  • Never owned an N64, so I've never given it a try. Guess I'll have to one of these days, or at least listen to the music.

  • LIBERATION!

  • @paerarru

    LUCKY!

  • @paerarru Boo! Boo!

  • @Kriegsarschmann You pulled a "DEVIL" Card.

  • @Kriegsarschmann Gah! Where's the Reset button! X)

  • This is one of the best pieces of video game music ever composed.

...That said, the game would have been a little better if the enemy army ever did something other than line up and march in column toward your base.

    Where's the strategy?

  • I think the strategy involves other things such as trying to manage the reputation meter and advancing your troops into the job classes you wanted. Also collecting the right characters for a good ending.

  • I agree. Also, some enemies do go after towns, and some will even go after the nearest unguarded town.

  • Well, keep in mind that I haven't played this game since 1996.

I do remember they'd try to flank you with the odd aerial unit... But that was the exception, not the rule.

The stock AI strategy was invariably to get in a conga line and come right at you. The main challenge, reputation-wise, was to rotate your units through the task of blocking that line so they wouldn't get too much experience.

It was tough to do, but I don't think it's the kind of generalship, say, Patton would advocate.

  • I have the n64 version uploaded.

  • Always one of my favorite songs from the game. But I've gotten spoiled with the PS orchestral-sounding version, and so now this one (which I heard first on SNES) sounds like something from Super Mario to me. But thanks for putting it up.

  • The PS1 version sounds a lot better. But still sounds great on SNES.

  • Agreed, one of the best RTS Fantasy games

  • This is a fucking masterpiece, the SNES version was the greatest game to ever be created. Absolutely adored the soundtrack aswell, thanks for the upload.

  • yay i love these!!!! thanks nangbaby!!!
