  • Who cares who sang it, and where the name came from. It is a great movie, and an excellent bluegrass song. Just enjoy it.

  • This is definitely BonaFide

  • The singer is Dan Tyminski

  • Comment removed

  • I seen Dan Tyminski and his band sevral times and they are great old timey music, plus they never ever fail to please us with Constant Sorrow. What a group, what music.

  • Apparently, according to IMDB, 'George Clooney practiced his singing for weeks, but in the end his singing voice was dubbed by country blues singer Dan Tyminski.' Poor baby! :(

  • i like this music but i don't know where to find more of it

  • @Xhivago google bluegrass, country, and the o brother where art thou soundtrack

  • I don't know where you get your information, but there's no such band as the Soggy Dalton Boys. The name "Soggy Bottom Boys" is a take-off on the Foggy Mountain Boys (who never actually recorded this song as far as I can tell).

  • This isn't even GC singing. He was voiced over for this part.

  • George is so cute.

  • WAIT it should have nanananananananan BATMAN!

  • This isn't George Clooney. It's what you call a dub

  • نااااااايس احب هالفلم

  • Glove and Boots sent me ^_^

  • i watched this movie in latin class and i fell in love

  • this is one of my FAV-O-RITE movies ever...makes me feel good all under ( as Bubba Jackson on KKJZ would say ) by the by GC's aunt was Rosemary Clooney...

  • I love the songs from this video... it is awesome that they used their own voices. Who would have thought that George Clooney could sing??!!

  • @mistyengel They used their own voices? If you believe that I have some ocean-front property in Tennessee I'll sell you real cheap.

  • @hardtaill70 LMAO You sound like my father. That's not a bad thing, just makes me laugh. He has a good sense of humor, when he's not pissed off.

  • @mistyengel Nope, the guy who loaned his voice for the movie was Dan Tyminski, google him, he has a band also, and was in the Alison Krauss band too.

  • hes really good at lip singing

  • Clooney missed a great opportunity.

  • my mom said that George Clooney Is my dad I asked my Firend's Mom and she said back when this movie came out she was pregnent with me and she did go out with George

  • @09341212 Wait George is your dad??

  • @09341212 That's so cool does he know??

  • hot damn son, i belive you did sell your soul to the devil !

  • love this song

  • i love how this is the only music video i can find that actually has no negative coments and a large like to dislike ratio

  • DIABLE cette chanson est trop cool ;)

  • very good i love this song

  • Just read something this week by the lead musician behind the O'Brother soundtrack rerelease for the film's 10th anniversary. He said GC did a great job singing but it didn't sound bluegrass enough to pass for the time/style. He also said he's heard him singing and GC could easily have been a professional singer like his aunt as he's got a great voice. So more jazzy sounding than bluegrass. Well there you go!

  • @sunrayvista sorry to tell you, but I read that this isn't really Cloony's voice :( I was upset when I read this!! But its true.

  • 1:17 -1:25

  • lol

  • funniest movie in 10 years subtle humor but had me on the floor

  • @ecdc41

    It's called bluegrass

  • good song

  • good song!

  • He wishes he could sing like that! Check out the wonder twins, Tim and Tom Butler dancing at Tao Beach. they also sing and perform comedy! And subscribe to our channel okay!!

  • what a bunch a bullshit,, making a big deal about a white man sings a song like a nigger.

  • They tried for weeks for clooney to sing it, but he couldnt do it,Dan Tyminski sang it in the end, dont forget BOB dylans version popularized it. :)

Apparantly george was VERY close to getting it right :)

  • I bet George Clooney really can sing though. His aunt was Rosemary Clooney a great singer.

  • i love this song. I live in kentuck matter of fact my whole life. And i love it. I think this song is AWESOME!!

  • @ERW123blue I agree! that movie was the best

  • this movie is fucking GREAT!!

  • he really sang it ......

  • SHIT

  • George Cloony did NOT sing this song but did lipsync to it for the movie .

  • haha I love this song... but the acting is ridiculous in this scene.

  • My male contrast is a Man of Constant Sorrow :-))))

  • did clooney actually sing that ?

  • @MrBogleOgle

'm afraid not - it was done by Dan Tyminski

  • @Ma3gnas ....No, it was done by Clooney..i herd it on radio..he took 3 months of lessons just for this song..many singers wanted to dub him but he didn't accepted and so he sang it...i'm 100% sure about this

  • It was done by Clooney..I'm 100% sure about this...He had vocal lessons for 3 months only for this song..many singers wanted to dub him but he insisted to sing it...and he made it real..if you listen carefully you'll understand that is his voice

  • @manjolalouk it's not his voice

  • @Ma3gnas ya it was done by him

  • @Ma3gnas actually it is george clooney singing this people were actually talking about how george clooney and the guy that actually sang this song, sound so much alike

  • @Ma3gnas either way he looks good lip-sinking!

  • @Ma3gnas Out of the main cast, only Delmar and Tommy actually sing. Pete did not yoddle.

  • @MrBogleOgle lololol

    i can't believe u asked that!

  • @MrBogleOgle George just did the "mouthing" part.

  • Ahahaha. :) I love George. <3 Even if he can't sing. Being as this isn't his voice. But WHATEVER, right? He's hilarious. xD And he's hot, for a man pushing 50. :)

  • yeah george cant sing but this is a great movie, so damn funny, a great laugh!!!! :D

  • George Clooney never sang this song... which is why you barely see his mouth

  • i saw that movie very funny

  • A hilarious movie. If you've never watched it, you are missing a great laugh. and the special effects and acting is awesome.

  • Dan Tyminski has a funny story about telling his wife that he was going to do the voice-over for George Clooney. His wife went "great! What's voice-over?" He explains "It's my voice coming out of George Clooney's mouth." And she said "That's my FANTASY!" :D

  • ooooo mmm ggg he is sooooooo beautiful and hot and attractiveee,.... was he actually singing?

  • Ahhhh Ahhh now :) but you are so funny. I guess he's hot. :) But you never tell unless you take them to bed! :) And then sometimes it's really disappointing!

  • @susiecollins1959 youve been in bed with him?hahaha

  • @FuckStaub YES WE ALL KNOW THAT. :) CONGRATULATONS FOR MAKING THAT AWARE THAT WE ALL READY DID! MAYBE, YOU REPLIED TO THE WRONG PERSON.

  • @FuckStaub No kiddin! Of course, alot of people know that. what on earth did you come up with tha t name? Sounds like a short penis trying to make your way into a small hole.

  • he sang and the directors said he couldnt so they dubbed him in post production

  • Cute

  • not even close - he did sing, but just for giggles... T-bone Burnett, the films musical director, had already recorded Dan Tyminski for the film, Clooney just lipsync'd to it.

  • not even close T-bone Burnett, the films musical director, had already recorded Dan Tyminski for this segment, Clooney just lipsync'd it - but did actually sing during recording - there was never any question that Clooney was not going to be in the final mix. - otherwise, what was he lip sync 'ing to?

  • @goodmanj2 how do you know

  • cool

  • Uh... yeah... The Dan Tyminski Band did this song. It is Dan singing.

  • George does really not sing in this movie!! But the song is amazing!!!

lol that guy on the right is totally off the beat

awesome song though, and i loved the movie

  • I THINK that is a good movie and i like there song

  • the reason he says that 2 have to sign X cause only 4 of them can write is they said there were 6 of them so they could get paid that much instead of for the 4 they

    DO have

  • THANK YOU!! That's what I wanted :)

  • Hi!

Sorry, one question, my English is not that good: After the song, when the guy asks to sign the paper what does he say? (in the translation I ve heard something about 2 of them will write X beceause only 4 of them can read) But I think this is not what they say in english:) Thanks

  • The fat guy asks them to sign a contract for a record, but George Clooney says that two of the guys can't sign their names because they can't right, and when u don't know how to write u just pt an X instead of a signature.

  • and so they could make more money cause they got paid $10 eash so then they pretened to have more prople so they could get more money.

  • Exactly :)

  • +5000 views :P

  • I am a man of constant sorrow

I've seen trouble all my day.

I bid farewell to old Kentucky

The place where I was born and raised.

(The place where he was born and raised) .... very nice !

  • love this SONG! well by george clooney... lol

  • soggy bottom boys.

song was not made exclusively for the movie, its an old folk song.

  • Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't know it at that time :)

  • I did a little research, the song is - Soggy Dalton Boys - Man of Constant Sorrow

  • you mean Soggy Bottom Boys!!)

  • They're called like that in the movie. They changed their name fur disclaimer purposes. The group who first played the song is called Soggy Dalton Boys :)

  • nope the song was first perofrmed by Richard (Dick) Burnett (October 8, 1883 January 23, 1977) an American folk songwriter from Kentucky.

  • OK,OK:D Give me a break

  • ....in the movie the song is performed by DAN TYMINSKI, i guess.

  • in the movie this song was performed by R-Kelly and the Isley Brothers wasn't it??...they did this same song on the Soul Train Awards just last year

  • is that a joke?
