they are: cheaper memory, less energy use, not having to lug half a ton of equipment around to get the same results, being able to make music anywhere, anytime, using less space, setting up at a festival in less than half an hour instead of taking 3 hours not including sound check & being able to move forward into the future as i was doing back then. i feel this software & some of the newer hardware are the fruits from the seeds we sowed by reviving Tadao Kikumoto's TB303 & TR909
