not very clear...looked like he left his feet and led with an elbow from the angle shown...anyways Lyon is no where close to NHL material...he got his ass handed to him by a Vancouver Giant (WHL) and he wasnt noticeable on a team that could only muster 9 shots on goal in a 5-0 demolishing of his Kelowna Rockets (if it werent for their goalies it would have been 12-0.

Lyon may one day play in the NHL..after a few more years of division 1 college or major junior hockey..the NAHL is a hack league and he is average at best..long way to go before you see Lyon messier in an NHL sweater. This hit was a good clean hard hit, but the other guy had his head down and had no idea it was coming..pretty easy to nail a guy who doesnt know the hit is coming.

As a matter of fact, I watched it a few times more and he never has both feet more than an inch or so off the ice at the same time...

Nope... I did what you asked and sure enough his feet left the ice but it was after contact.. thats legal and as far as the elbow, it was tucked down by his side at the time of the hit.. it looked a little high because the dude he nailed was somewhat hunched over and had his head down so it appeared high.. but it was at his side and came up after impact.

Again.. both aspects are perfectly clean... Do you watch hockey much?
