  • please guys review face off i really want to hear what you guys think about that movie

  • Chris,

Most people loved Pulp Fiction when it first came out. Reservoir Dogs is the movie that had the audience debating as to weather or not they just watched the best or worst movie of all time.

You guys should watch some of the classics pulp fiction films that QT references, like: Kiss Me Deadly, The Naked Kiss, Band of Outsiders , The Panic in Needle Park etc.

It's also big on 60's art house like: Jules and Jim, Vivre Sa Vie, 8 1/2

  • where is the review?

  • Tom,you do know what you said about Tarantino not wanting Travolta in isn't true,he was the one who pushed him in the movie, because the studio execs or something didn't want him in the movie.so Tarantino didn't oppose,he really wanted him.

  • From Dusk Till Dawn

  • Please review Memento, I seriously love that movie. One of the most complex films I've ever seen.

  • Pulp fiction

  • Pulp Fiction is the name of an existing genre. The “pulp fiction” genera is kind of like noir’s evil cousin. It began with novels that were written in the 40’s and 50’s, but rarely made into Hollywood movies. French filmmakers did however adapt these stories, and it became a big part of the French New Wave movement of the 60’s. This movie is QT’s tribute to the pulp films of the French new wave, as well as the old pulp novels.

I kind of feel like that should have been mentioned.

  • Dirty Harry!

  • Princess Mononoke

  • You should try for another Miyazaki film, like Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away. It'd be interesting to see you review either of those.

  • Office Space

  • Something has to be at least 25 years old to be a classic (according to the dictionary.) You guys get a little closer to reviewing a "classic" each time.

This is my favorite film, by the way. Great reviews!

  • @MetallicaMadMan666 Also, you know what would be more enjoyable than their the corny standup? An actual 9 minute critique on the film with insight.

  • @MetallicaMadMan666 (Cont.) point of him making these videos other than to fulfill some kind of misguided value of importance he has on himself as an individual?

  • @MetallicaMadMan666 Being a "Professional critic" and being professional with your work is two completely different things. The fact that Tom calls himself the most reliable critic on youtube and that his reviews are exhilarating, yet he shows us 9 minutes of rambling from someone who doesn't actually critique the film other than saying something is "Awesome" or "Sucks" is pretty insulting. What's the (Cont).

  • Hey guys, instead of just saying how "awesome" and how "great" this film is, why don't you explain what it is about the film that allows you to claim those statements. Saying "it's memorable or funny" isn't enough, explain why they are instead of fanboy fawning and talking about entertainment value. Thats why you guys are amateurs and don't have many views. I feel like these are kind of a way for you guys to use as a vehicle for you corny "standup". There is no real professionalism or insight.

  • @yocheckitboi who pissed in your corn flakes?

  • @MetallicaMadMan666 Interesting, I don't recall being mad or pissed. I'm just stating the truth. it's called constructive criticism.

  • @yocheckitboi yea but these guys dont consider themselves to be professionals. If you want to watch a "professional" film critic talk about this film watch ebert or something, this video is just two guys telling us thir thoughts on this classic film, thats what i expect when i watch a tom or chris video, and thats excatly what i get. And the "corny standup" is used to make the videos more enjoyable to watch rather than just watchin 2 guys talking about a film for 9 minutes.

  • @yocheckitboi I agree.

  • Wow, that John Travolta story is so apocryphal =/

  • Pulp Fiction along with later - anything by Scorsese, is what made me jump from wanting to write movies to wanting to make movies. At 17 I just went into a frenzy, I must have watched Pulp Fiction every day for like a month, it really showed me the importance of directing. And even though I had wanted to write movies, I was trying not to be too directly influenced so like an *IDIOT* I avoided movies. Now I've seen so many great movies! 'Thanks Pulp Fiction!' *thumbs up with sparkle sound effect*

  • Kill Bill
