  • crailtap.

im so glad you sent me here. :)

  • You can make it your disguise, just never show the fear that's in your eyes.

  • thus has got to be one of my favourites of all time

  • the band, lil bandwagon fanboys hjahaaa

  • Cheery

  • i was waiting for the mini top 5.....

  • *sings loudly and very off pitch* See the man with the stage fright! *sighs* Oh, I love this song :D I think I'm annoying my roommate... I have it on repeat >.>

  • crailtapp mini top 5

  • yippppeeeeeee what a goood song!

  • This song makes me wanna go on a trip to the montains in a chilly weather and just feel the road... listening to this and having a cigarette... watching the sunset... holding hand with the one you love... that's it... you don't need much more.

  • THE BAND~評価高い1作、2作より、このステージ・フライト、カフーツが好きだった!~そしてなんと言ってもリック・ダンコが!

  • @blackandtanful That's what she said!....

  • This song always makes me feel a bit better when I'm having a bad day. :)

  • This song is about : BOB DYLAN !!!! He is the man w. STAGE FRIGHT --- when the Beatles were getting mobbed by fans -- Dylan -- who is 5'2" -- really short --was scared ! In 1974 -- denver -- Dylan & the Band "wake of the flood " tour --- the Band played this after Dylan finished the 1st set---

it was CLEAR to me then : it is about Bob Dylan .

  • @JoeySunB lol makes a nice story....must be a hundred stories now....this song is timeless - what if - its a song !

  • @JoeySunB

Nope. I think it was Robertson who said it was about a lot more. There was some booking error and they ended up just playing on a stage with no audience, sometimes the curtain down and they were thinking about how being musical all their lives took away their childhoods. "Because of the price the poor boy paid, he gets to sing like a bird."

  • @JoeySunB i wish i could have seen bands back in 1974. im only 16.

  • Ah shiiiiiiiite that chap just got schooled about crailtap and the band,Fantastic song from my hero's

  • crailtapppppppp

  • No I listen to the band because their just beast, not because of crailtrap. Ive never even heard of crailtrap and I used to skateboard all the time when I was 10-14. Whatever though, its good music so I dont care how people here about it.

  • Thumbs up if the only reason you are listening to this is because of Crailtap.

  • Skateboarding.

  • yep. real nice stuff at the end. your brow is sweatin and the mouth gets dry...

  • STORY OF MY LIFE!

  • ha! nice touch at the end! ;-)

  • Sounds like Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies tell me is you think it does !!!!

  • Sounds like Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies tell me is you think it does !!!!

  • I first remember hearing this song when i was 8 from one of my dad's albums....i was hooked from then on

  • this isnt the album version, right? I dont remember the hammond organ on top of the piano in the beginning...

  • @MulletKid

It's a Lowrey organ. Garth don't do Hammond.

  • @MulletKid It's the original version, maybe you're used to a live version or something?

  • @MulletKid There are two different mixes, one was the UK version, one was the US version. I think the UK mix was used on the reissues, and the US mix is mostly on the old vinyl. Could have something to do with it.

I just picked up the vinyl for cheap and in good condition yesterday! yaaaay

  • What does a skateboarding trick have to do with stage fright by the band?

  • @hanaysex Crailtap is a website that put out these videos such as "crail couch with (so and so)" and "mini top five with (so and so)". this is the song played in the Top Five video series. that's why everyone keeps referencing "crailtap" the song and the actual trick have no relationship.

  • I have so many good things to say about this track, I don't know where to begin. There is something about the way its mixed thats just chilling , its got this am radio quality I just love. . .the Last Waltz performance of this is just awesome . . .

  • mini top 5, best concert films;

    5:The Song Remains the Same

    4:Let's Spend the Night Together

    3:The Concert for Bangladesh

    2.The Woodstock one, Woodstock?

    1.The Last Waltz.

    Put me on Crailtap

  • No. No freaking "crailtap". I'm here to listen to the band like a normal person.

  • @TheOffcialACCFans CRAILTAP NIGGA!

  • Does anyone know of any piano sheet music for this song?

  • what the hell is crailtap?

  • @Stjonnypopo its a skate company n they use this song in their mini top 5 series kinda think

  • @Stjonnypopo I have no idea. Its no style of music or instrument that i've ever heard of. Kids!

  • @TheJrgriffin Crailtap is a distribution of skateboards. (Including the companies "Girl" and "Chocolate") the reference being made here is to the Crailtap "Mini Top 5" where there is an interview of a person affiliated with Crailtap (normally a rider). This song is playing in the background of all of them, it works perfectly, you should check it out.

  • @Stjonnypopo In skateboarding, A crailtap is a tail block but done while holding the boards nose with the trailing hand (crail grab) and leaning over the transition as you land. Variations include: crail grind and creeper (crail sweeper)

Crailtap mini top 5 is a related expression of high praise.

This is a good thing, part of the youth culture of today, and The Band and their older fans should be chuffed.

  • @xke00ko Thanks for the info. You make it seem as if you think I'm an old man but I'm actually 21 years old, I just had no idea what a crailtap was hehe. Thanks for the info.

  • @Stjonnypopo As an older dude, I might suggest you get a board ;)

  • @xke00ko im cursed with a wide bone structure so im automatically overweight for my height...

    fucking viking genes man...

when i was like 8 to 15 i was a beast at boarding...

    then the fucking genes.

    and no im actually serious.

im not just saying it because im slightly fat.

im only slightly fat because i have nothing physically to do except go fishing and swimming.

i really have a wide bone structure.

i have a one of a kind signature jake element board.

it says future is nature on it.

  • @xke00ko crailtap mini top 5 is actually a segment on a skateboarding webisode called crailtap relating back to the trick you described

  • @Stjonnypopo My thought exactly. And anyways, what the hell has skateboarding to do with The Band...?

  • @tteu123 Look up mini top 5. It's a skate thing

  • @Stjonnypopo Your an idiot. Why did you listen to it then.? im 16 and this is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • @MrBigdan250 I guess as a 16 year old you don't get the irony in saying "Your an idiot"

  • @Stjonnypopo i've noticed that the music in crailtap videos (crail couch, top 5, crail couch extras) is rather disappointing...but their really good in the context of the crailtap videos

  • go crailtap

  • crailtap made this populair for the skateboarders but this song was already populair ( i am one of the skateboarders:P)

  • actually, i'm here because of The Band

  • im only here because of crailtap

  • "Crailtap" didn't make this song popular. It always has been and always will be.

    <3 The Band

  • the song is probebly about van the man, van morrison. "the belfast cowboy". Who suffer still this day, from the fenome "stage fright". The band was a fabuolus live band, but they never really cut a good album,.... this production sux as all other studio recordings...no exception

  • @DoooDoooDo Beg to differ. The production may not be clean and standard, but the production on the Band's best material has a wonderful earthiness that hasn't really been matched by any other artist.

  • top five things about this song

  • @Jameson17 1. crailtap 2. mini top five 3. see the man with the stage fright 4. the piano at the start 5. no seriously

  • i luv crailtap

  • crailtap minitiop 5!

  • I hate your guts

  • LOLZ crailtap made this famous agian

  • '...I got firewater right on my breath...."

  • my friend kevin told me to listen to this song because id like it and i LOVE thanx Kevin!!!

  • its so cool that this song is famous because of skateboarding haha

  • this song was famous like 20 years before skateboarding buddy.

  • @tonyop217 Your a moron. That's all I logged in to say.

  • @skidrat55 u logged in to post a stupid comment on a completly true statement.... just see the comments on this video (crailtap is from a skateboarding company) :) asshole

  • @tonyop217 "Stage Fright" was made famous in 1970 when it was released on the album "Stage Fright" by the band, "The Band"... How old are you? 12? It's pretty unbelievable how ignorant some people can be sometimes. Now go look up 'ignorant' in a dictionary. Hopefully I did your parents a favor just now.

  • @skidrat55 Skateboarding started around 72..Therefor this song could have been popular among some of the "original" skaters :P.

Anyway, this is an awesome song, i dont care where people got to know this song from, as long as they enjoy it (:

  • @hinza007 I can remember skateboarding in the early 60's. Wasn't very good at it, but we did it anyway...pretty crude then; just nailed the wheels from old sidewalk skates (the kind you clamped on your shoes) to the bottom of a board.

  • @buckfan1969 Oh, well, i guess skateboarding "as we know it" started around 72 :P..or maybe im just messing up my years xD

  • @hinza007 Not hard to mess them up when there's that many years to track...;) It's funny how association to something helps one remember, but I distinctly remember we'd go to this girl's house (she had a steep driveway) and we were hearing the Beatles' new hit 'A Hard Day's Night'. That had to be 1964, and that's the only reason I can remember the year at all. Damn....that's almost 50 years now...I was a teenager...

  • @buckfan1969 My parents weren't even born by then, thats pretty weird in some ways. Anyway, its a great track, and i love listening to it :D

  • @tonyop217 i hate your guts

  • @jrmb1989 thanks ;)

  • crailtap!!!!!

  • then it is one of the most awesome comments you have ever read :)

  • Mini top 5 BITCHES!

  • But when we get to end....

  • We must start all over again!

  • This song reminds me of a bowl of cheerios on a cold winters morning before going to work.

    oh and crailtap ;).

  • @Chuckie2k7 This song reminds me of a bowl of king vitamin on a cold winters morning before going to school.

  • Awesome song. RIP Rick Danko.

  • You can make it in your disguise.

Just never show the fear that's in your eyes.

Not quite as good as the first two albums by The Band but still great, especially the titular track and The Shape I'm In.

  • @EntraTV Been looking for the song on mimi top five. Finally found it after 2 days.

  • @al158411 I found it in 5 minutes

  • always heard this was about Dylan: is that true?

  • Todd Rundgren produced it. Lots of strong personalities in that studio!

  • Thanks for posting this. When I tried to play the one on MySpace, it quit 1/3 of the way right into the song. Probably something to do with money.

  • what are the piano chords for the intro

  • rick denko

  • I am grateful that I got a chance to meet the great Rick Danko back in 1994. I also met Levon too. This song is one of their best.

  • i have been told this song is about dylan, but don't know. anyone know?

  • I think it was loosely based on Robertson experience of near collapse due to stagefright before their debut concert in San Francisco (1969).

  • The Band is truly a legend. I cannot get enough of their music! Thank you for this beautiful song.
