  • Jesse Timmendequas was NOT innocent. He was clearly 100% GUILTY. He DESERVED his rightful punishment for killing Megan Kanka. DEATH.

  • simple reason, there is no 100% confirmable manner to say someone did it. We can perhaps get 99.999999% sure but never 100%. Thus if we excute, we risk excuting an innocent man. Taking a risk of execusion on someone who could possibly be innocent is wrong, simple fact.

  • The only time it is acceptable to take a life is in self defense or, in defense of another. A person in prison is no threat to the lives or safety of the public.

  • Actually very few people on death row are actually executed anyway. Why? Because they are given virtually unlimited appeals. Why? Because on the off chance they mistakenly convict an innocent man and later execute them.

It's too much of a risk to give someone the death penalty and thus these convicts can forever waste tax dollars on countless legal fees for appeals they know they don't deserve but get anyway.

Much easier to just give them life without parole.

  • fuck all pigs (cops ) for you kill them all and thare familys

  • Bob for President!

  • Execution brings BALANCE. If you take a life, you should pay with your own. Its ok for criminals to kill our loved ones but its NOT OK for a state to return the favor? Executing a murderer is NOT murder. When its someone bad being executed its a FAVOR. Murderers DO NOT DESERVE TO LIVE. So fuck Susan Surandon and all the bleeding heart liberals. Oh yeah and fuck Amnesty International too. Murderers aren't people, they're sub human animals who should be PUT DOWN like animals at the vet.

  • i don't believe in the death penalty. every human being that has been born deserves to live.

  • @TheMarissaDanielle thats easy to say when its not your mother or father shot in the head, or helplessly beaten with a blunt end of an ax. Easy to ignore world hunger until you see it next door. Easy to ignore pollution until your tap water comes out green. All the fighting for civil rights, for womens rights, for equality rights. The fact that you are not treated because of how you are on the outside, but what you do and whats on the inside. MURDER Now your being completly stupid.

  • @shevah2 what the fuck does world hunger, pollution, and equality rights have to do with the death penalty?

  • @TheMarissaDanielle its an example, like a mediphore. except for quality rights. By that i mean that its what you do that gets you punished. What would happen if your mother was tortured and killed. That man doesnt have any money for reperations, let alone funeral costs. Now your paying funeral costs, and thousands of tax dollars go to keeping this man alive. Now thanks to the failed judicial system, criminals never get a short enough sentence to learn from their mistakes and live a better life.

  • @shevah2 Yes, no one doubts how difficult it is to see a loved one murders. I cannot imagine the pain that I would feel or that anyone would feel from the loss of a loved one at the hands of violent crime. I understand the urge for vengeance. It is a natural human emotion. That being said, what does execution actually change. It brings no one back and changes nothing. It only serves to bring us down to the level of those who perpetrate violent crime. Im all for life sentences, but not execution.

  • @TheMarissaDanielle what about the unborn in the womb?? don't they have a right to life then???

  • @jerry122063 "every human being THAT HAS BEEN BORN deserves a right to life" is what i said. a fetus isn't a person. it is a fetus.

  • @TheMarissaDanielle so i guess if your mom aborted you by partial birth abortion in her 8th month you would be cool with that. that way , we know that you didn't die, it was just another fetus that died. so i guess you would consider yourself not alive until you were born. well???

  • @jerry122063 i wouldn't be alive if i had been aborted, so i don't think i really would have minded. by the way, is 7 billion people not enough for ya? do you want more people to crowd this little planet?

  • @TheMarissaDanielle so, what do you suggest to thin the herd of humans then??? where would you start?? how far would you go with it?? do you have or plan to have any kids?

  • @jerry122063 i suggest that instead of making new people, use the perfectly good people already in existence. i.e., adoption. so what if the kid doesn't look like you? you get a kid, and you also save it from abuse, war, poverty, being unwanted, etc.

  • @TheMarissaDanielle i have nothing against adopting. but, there are only so many kids like that. so, how many do you plan to adopt?

  • @jerry122063 none. i find children annoying.

  • @TheMarissaDanielle there you have it folks. a woman who doesn't like kids. so sad. : (

  • @TheMarissaDanielle you know, I would have way more respect for you liberals if your arguments were consistent albeit WRONG. You say let's "justify" the grisly slaughter of the unborn for the "greater good" of preventing overpopulation. Killing an innocent can NEVER be justified, but if so, why is THAT the demographic that is to be selected for sacrifice? Wouldn't it make more sense to simply cut down on overpopulation by killing the elderly residents in nursing homes?!

  • @celticenchantment83 yeah, sure. let's have all these kids we don't want, oh yeah. good idea. oh, i know! let's kill off the old folks who have had 70+ years of memories, and not a fetus that wasn't even wanted in the first place. good plan, right? sounds great.

  • @TheMarissaDanielle it's DISGUSTING to "justify" the killing of innocents because they "aren't wanted." There are people aged 40, 73, 16, and 9 mos who are not wanted, but killing them is MURDER! My point behind the elderly people comment was, as a human being with a right to live, if I had to choose being murdered after age 70 or before birth, I sure as hell would prefer the 7+ decades of life and pleasure and memories over having my brain vacuumed out before I was born.

  • @TheMarissaDanielle so where is proof that a "fetus" is not a person? What if we applied the same sick logic later in life? What if a fully developed adult said anyone younger than puberty "isn't a person, they are just a child." Liberalism is all about self centeredness and double standards.

  • @celticenchantment83 liberalism is about double standards? if anything, conservatism is about double standards. conservatives claim to be "pro-life" and yet are for the death penalty and opposed to free healthcare and stem cell research, which save people's lives. they want to "uphold the constitution", but instead just push their religious dogma onto everyone else. they are for freedom, but deny people the right to use their bodies how they see fit. and liberalism is about double standards! ugh

  • in Soviet Russia, death penalty abolishes YOU!!!

  • Nice.

  • I hate shit like that! I've heard this kind of stuff before about U.S domestic matters. There was a story a couple of years ago about some State Governor who was retiring and as a goodwill gesture, he commuted the death penalty on every D Row inmate in his state!!! Thats great if you are some rape/murderer, who just got their life back! ! WHAT ABOUT THE VICTIMS?? (And their families)? Who gives one person the right(on some whim) to take justice away from the victim, and their loved ones?? BSHIT

  • That Corzine bastard is GONE now. Hail Christie!

  • @zephranna01 hpw many what?

  • well atleast he is going to get analy raped

  • Murder the murderer

  • Considering how many innocent people have been executed and how stupid society is. I say Hells No to the death penalty. There is so many inconsistencies in verdicts that its clearly a flawed and biased system. The Death Penalty could easily turn into the next Malleus Maleficarum. In fact its already getting close. In certain areas something as small as rape is grounds for the death penalty and we all know how many fake Rape claims women make every fucking day. Screw the death penalty.

  • it's true. WE are paying so someone who raped and killed someone to sleep, eat, and get exercise.

  • @daboodeef179 Exactly. Get rid of those fuckers.

  • i hate Corzine

  • The death penalty exists so that society can see justice being done. It's only partly a deterrent as bad people always think they'll never get caught. It doesn't make us as barbaric as the murderers, it makes us responsible for the suffering of the victims, whose rights should always come above those of the criminal. Abolishing the death penalty makes it looks as if we no longer consider murder to be as bad as we used to. It's not about revenge.

  • "it doesnt matter if it prevent murder" then whats the point?? revenge!!! America has the 4th highest execution rate in the world and you,s believe afghanistan/iran is backward!!!!!

  • I see that some of the people talking here against capital punishment are a bit confused. It is far more than mere vengeance -- it is actually done both for the good of the condemned murderer/rapist and for the safety of others. This is what Bob is telling us here.

  • @MrMadHeat Nonsense. Sorry but this makes no sense. First of all, society is protected simply by locking a murderer away. It may drive you crazy that tax money takes care of a murderer, but prison is not the Club Med that Right wingers love to pretend it is. It is brutal and harsh, and, get this, you cannot leave. You are cut off from the benefits of society. If anything, capital punishment hurts society. It scars the people who do the actual killing, it gives no comfort to the family members,

  • @ptolemyauletesXII That protection is temporary at best. Even if the murderer gets life, he can always appeal and try to get parole or what have you. As well, more than one resourceful and determined murderer has escaped prison. So much for being unable to leave, I should think! As to hurting society and scarring executioners, that is a plain and unequivocal attempt to blur the line between law-abiding citizens and those who would prey upon them.

  • @MrMadHeat And it is counter to the 'Christian' values so many Americans seek to espouse. How can a nation that so loudly proclaims its Christian values (even though America was founded by Atheists Agnostics and Theists, most of whom wanted a secular nation and went out of their way to make that clear) ignore Jesus' pleas to turn the other cheek and to let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Capital Punishment is Old Testament. Americans say they are New Testament... what gives?

  • @ptolemyauletesXII Perhaps it might not restore the loved one, but it WILL ensure that the scum shall murder no more as no amount of prison time can do.

As to Christian values, we use both the Old Testament AND the New Testament. In any case, your talk of Christian values vs. our national origins is irrelevant.

For your information, I am NOT a right-winger -- not that one need be such to see that the death penalty for murder, in fact, makes the hardest of sense.

  • How did I know that this guy would love the death penalty? What happens when someone is wrongly convicted? Do you dig him up and say sorry? All it takes is one false execution to make it not worthwhile. Look up what countries in the world still have the death penalty. All the countries you guys normally hate. North Korea, China, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia... they do a great job of it! On TV!!! Great compnay you guys keep... all the psychotic countries in the world.

  • hahahahahahah! Such anger! hahahaha

  • shut up jijijijijjji

  • DP is too expensive.

The study estimates that the average cost to Maryland taxpayers for reaching a single death sentence is $3 million - $1.9 million more than the cost of a non-death penalty case. (This includes investigation, trial, appeals, and incarceration costs.) The study examined 162 capital cases that were prosecuted between 1978 and 1999 and found that those cases will cost $186 million more than what those cases would have cost had the death penalty not existed as a punishment.

  • The death penalty should exist. However it does cost way too much. Thats why we need a new system. You find someone guilty of any murder and sentence them to death. Then they can be taken to the back of the courthouse and have a $0.50 bullet put straight into there head. Pretty cheap and very quick. No waiting on death row for 12 years at 90k per year to stay there. Just a simple fee of $0.50 for a bullet and the cost of the medical transportation. Thats better. Black or white you kill you die

  • @masonbowen

But, what are they doing in those 12 years? oh yeah, proving that the guy actually murdered someone. There are a lot of cases where someone stays on death row for 10 years then gets proven innocent.

  • i am against the death penalty, and i am also against life without parole because that is actually worse than a death sentence. anyone seen the shawshank redemption? those prisons look brutal, and it definitely does not look like a luxury house.

  • @ultradumbass Thats a film you fucking idiot, prisons these days are fucking ridiculous, I dont know if you know who Peter Sutcliffe is, the Yorkshire Ripper, but he was convicted of raping and killing 13 women, and probably killed a lot more, and hes now in prison and in his cell he has a guitar, a full gym, a 42" plasma and an xbox, a fucking DVD collection and loads of other shit, for killing over 13 people! thats not prison its A FUCKING HOLIDAY HOME!!

  • @scargill8 sometimes when you testify they give prisoners deals. i can guarantee you most prisoners don't get that luxury. karla homolka got that luxury for murdering 10 people but only got convicted in 3 for testifying against paul bernardo. i don't agree with medieval prisons but i don't believe in spoiling prisoners. if they want luxuries they must do chores that way they are more disciplined but don't lose touch with the outside world and then can get them out eventually.

  • @scargill8 and the characters are fictional but that is a real prison. it is a former prison house in the state of ohio from about 50 years ago.

  • Maybe you should be locked up too, just for you to see how luxus that prison really is. And even if it was, it would still mean living his life under 24/7 survelliance and he still wouldnt have his freedom to go to where ever he wants etc.

  • So whats the purpose of coming here to Earth for? did we came here to Suffer and die?

  • Every state should have the death penalty. This country does bad things to bad people and should really follow that motto.

  • What he fails to mention is that New jersey hasn't Executed anyone since 1963 and Megan Kanka's killer WILL NEVER BE SET FREE. The decision came about from a study that showed that is was more costly to keep these guys on death row so now they have life with no possibility of parole.

  • This guy is an idiot. No European country that is apart of the E.U. can have a death penalty in it's law. The reason behind this is because ppl who commit crimes in states with death penalties often commit worse crimes because of the death penalty.

  • Jon Corzine is HISTORY

And the Democratic party is going to

be kicked into the gutter and stomped to death in 2010.

  • Im all for the death penalty, hell there should also be a law that if you steal you get your arm cut off

I dont have a high tolerance for criminals. -_-

  • Don't have a high "tolerance" for criminals eh? Well that's how our government & "Elitists" feel about it's people. Pretty soon we will be recognized as ONE & a unified nation just NOT in the name of peace & prosperity. More like in the name of greed & enslavement. Yeah, whether your guilty or innocent get ready to be counted, if you're on the "terror list" it's just a matter of time until you're rounded up. :-Y

  • Amen to that. Why are we, the taxpayers, spending tens of thousands of dollars a year on every prisoner, when a machete costs 17.99?

Problem fucking solved. If the consequence for petty theft was a finger, grand theft an arm, we wouldn't have assholes making crime into a profession and prison like a luxury vacation from it. Look at Singapore's crime rate. They have a system very similar to what you mentioned. No one even litters there.

  • Watch the faces of death clip showing some one being put to death i promise you want support the death penalty after

  • Crime would be reduced DRASTICALLY if the whole world could see this happening. Instead, only a few people watch and nobody learns anything from it.

  • The main reason for the death penalty is for vengeance, not deterrence.

  • No, the reason for the death penalty is enforcing the golden rule all the way to the dirt.

You kill 5 people, you get killed. How do you not see the fairness in that? If anything, a serial killer should be REVIVED for as many times as he killed, so that he can be slain for every victim. That's justice, not vengeance.

    Liberal, criminal-loving scumbag.

  • There's nothing wrong with vengeance, I also believe in it. You don't need to fluff it up with euphemisms like "it's called justice, not vengeance", no it is vengeance, but I do agree that serial killers deserve to die. However, unlike you, I don't try to pretty it up with euphemisms to mask my true intentions. I recognize that it is vengeance. Your last comment, merely shows that you are an uneducated hick. I actually agree with you, you're not even smart enough to figure that out.

  • how do I watch this clip?

  • Google search faces of death watch the movie the clip is in there somewere i dont remember were

  • Just think of what his victim went through, and you will wish that he died a thousand times worse.

  • @warpedcomedy

If thats what you belive then your sence of morality is just as bad as the killers.

  • Executions are like exterminating pests and dangers to society, not murder.

Once you kill in cold blood, you give up your right to live. Justice could have been served, but justice was denied.

  • So you see human life as nothing more then that of a pest, killing when a man because he has killed another instead of life in prison is still cold blooded unless it is belived he will kill again.

  • Human life becomes irrelevant when it is not deserved. Those who murder in cold blood deserve death. Human life is only precious when it does not belong to a murderer.

  • I like your logic but im still against the death penalty after seeing someone being executed by the state you will too.

  • I've already seen executions. I still support it. Human life is a priveledge, not a right.

  • Acorrding to the constitution it its , Life Liberty the pursuit pf happiness.

  • According to the Constitution, No one shall be deprived of life without due process. Therefore it is permissible to take away life after due process of law.

  • Horseshit. I will put a rope around their necks and kick them off the gallows and piss on them on the way down

  • @d5gdf56gdfg

i bet if you see murderers commit their crimes you will support the death penalty

  • @Frances3654 Yes, but that is an emotional argument. That is revenge, not justice. There is a key difference. Naturally those affected by a crime will feel strong emotions. That is why the state takes care of justice, and not individual vigilantes. If you like revenge and taking care of business, why not try Somalia? They have no legal system to stop you from taking care of murderers the right way. A proper legal system leaves emotion at the door.

  • @ptolemyauletesXII

tha'ts true, but I still think that you're a murderer sympathizer.

  • @Frances3654 A murderer sympathizer? What a feeble, black and white, simplistic, childlike thing to say. Just because you want to kill murderers and I just want to lock them up doesn't mean I sympathise with them. A civilised state doesn't take vengeance upon its citizens, nor does it punish them cruelly. Medieval states do that. It doesn't matter how wicked the person is or how awful their crime was. OF course I feel rage if a child is murdered. But that rage has no place in justice.

  • @ptolemyauletesXII

    Am I too real?

Just because you're a pussy and think the death penalty is cruel doesen't mean it is. A murderer deserves to be put to death.

  • @Frances3654 What a wonderful, enlightened, eloquent statement. 'I win arguments by showing off my testosterone and insulting people. I win! Now I'm gonna go shoot my gun! Yeehawwww!!!!'

Just remember whose company you are in. Iran, North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, etc.... perhaps we should televise them? That's what the Saudis do. And what do you do when someone is found to have been wrongly convicted? What about the people who do the killing? That must affect them... do you want to do it?

  • @Frances3654 The death penalty is one of the things that shows that a civilisation has not grown up yet. It shows that its citizens are not able to control their emotions. You might as well set a murderer in front of a mob and let them have their way. In fact, why not open up amphitheatres and feed them to hungry lions? It would save zoos a lot if money. Everybody wins! No, a cilivised society evolves laws and seeks justice, not revenge. The Greeks worked this out 2500 years ago.

  • @ptolemyauletesXII

That amphitheater thing sounds like a great idea.

Id pay to see a fight between a lion and a criminal.

  • @Frances3654 I am assuming you are joking, but I suspect you are not. In the event that you are not joking your wlllingness to watch someone get torn apart by a lion says a lot about you.

  • @ptolemyauletesXII

I don't want to see anyone torn apart by a lion. I want it to be a fair fight, and if the person wins, they get their freedom back.

  • @Frances3654 the death penalty is suppose to be a deterent to crime not revenge!!

  • @ellegreeko

    Source?

  • @Frances3654 does it prevent murder? no!! so how it a detterent? source- "execution is not a detterent to crime its an act of revenge"

    Albert Pierpoint - Hangman/executioner

  • @ellegreeko

It doesn't matter if it prevents murder. anyways i know if i was going to be executed i would definitely not be going around killing people.

look at china, they got a low murder rate and they execute everyone

  • @Frances3654 but they shouldn't be convicted if there isn't enough evidence int he first place. too many ppl are in prison for crime they did not commit.

  • @FlyinSpaghettiMnstr7

    Your source for that claim?

  • @Frances3654 the news.

  • @FlyinSpaghettiMnstr7

    Err access denied.

    give me a real source.

  • @Frances3654 innocenceproject.o r g/Content/The_Innocent_and_the_Death_Penalty.php

  • @Frances3654 if i saw a murderer commit his crime id kill him myself. lethal injection is the pussy way, knife to the throat for the win.

  • @Frances3654

That's not a real argument that's just an emotional appeal.

  • @fredjustsucks

easy for you to say wise guy

  • Corzine is a Human Piece of SHIT....

  • Damn!

Oklahoma has the death penalty. Move here.

  • Why? So he can get the death penalty?

Maybe you should think before you comment.

  • you my friend Are a fucking idiot.

  • If the people of New Jersey don't like abolishing the death penalty, then the people of New Jersey will vote those who abolished it out of office.

If they aren't voted out of office, then abolishing the death penalty is the will of the people of New Jersey.

It's democracy; it's America. Deal with it, instead of whining about liberals. Scratch a conservative, find a whiner.

  • Every State should have the death penalty.

  • and if ur daughter was raped beaten and murdered and they caught the guy ud be ok with life in prison...i dont think so...its the bleeding fucking hearts like you that let criminals back on the streets.....bring back the death penalty...give carry permits...and watch crime drop off. saying guns kill people is like saying the pencil spelled the word wrong......start standing up for urself.

  • no.1 stop with you're labels,Right Left etc! No. 2 i fully beleave more guns less crime ! Did i say put criminals back on the street you dope?? I said i dont beleave in the death penlty because to many ,innocent people go to jail,FACT,so you call me a bleeding heart ?? If americans were allowed to handle there businesss ,instead of calling 9 11 and corrupt cops, and deal with a corrupted court system,we would have half the jails we have now !! I dont even think we should have permits for guns!

  • And why yhe hell can't you get a carry permitt? What, you live in New York ! HAHA! Try to get out of the city more !!

  • i live in Nj, i can care less about the city, and i still cant carry...whats the cure for that...love to hear the answer.

  • Samething New york,NJ,,whatever,,just move,,its pull of people that are garbage anyway!!

  • whatever freak, shouldnt you be watching the xfiles and looking for alien spacecraft...fucking creeps like you with all the answers....typical.,,didnt think ur reply would be worth reading...but wtf...creeps like you love the attention...cya in a few days geek....the truth is out there...maybe in the traffic, go have a look.

  • ohhh was that a serious question!! no really,, i would move,,tryanny will show its face there first,,all the citys that wont allow there people to carry guns will be screwed soon,,if roits come,,

I even see in NJ where they make all the kid take vaccines at almost gun point,,when its not even the law,,,

  • thats exactly right, but for those of us who dont want the vaccines, we dont get them a lot of idiots dont realise some of the vaccine have mercury product as a preservative in them, like the hpv vaccine its actualy being pushed by a senetor that was endorsed by the company that makes it....my daughter isnt getting it because of the side effects and they are not totaly sure of the damge it may cause down the line but polotics rules the day when riots come, im already rifles are better anyway :)

  • We still have it here in Florida! :)

  • How I envy Florida. :) We have too many criminals running around loose here in California.

  • Yeah, I think it should be in every state.

  • If it's painless what's the point? Everyone dies anyway. If they made the death as painful as possible then you might be able to take your sadistic satisfaction that the criminal is suffering, but I don't see much point if the criminal dies painlessly.

  • The difference is that the criminal is not sucking my tax dollars dry by staying alive, dipshit. I don't look at another criminal as another life. I look at him as an economic problem - a parasite that drains the resources of hard-working, law-abiding citizens like me.

Once you kill, you lose your rights, including the right to live.

And if YOU really have such a burning passion for murderers, then why don't you pay everyone's taxes for all these prison enrollments? Ignorant piece of shit.

  • Well if you knew anything about the death penalty, then you would know that it's actually more expensive than life imprisonment due to the the cost of the process, appeals, chemicals to kill the guy (which are extremely expensive), etc. *sigh* Again you demonstrate your stupidity by jumping to conclusions. I'm in favor for the death penalty. Actually I think we should cane criminals, and crucify rapists. I guess "ignorant piece of shit" would be a good description of you.

  • it should be 1 appeal only and electric is cheap.... you're a liberal just admit it

  • WHAT PART OF I'M IN FAVOR FOR THE DEATH PENALTY DIDN'T YOU UNDERSTAND YOU FUCKING MORON? (caps)

  • @JSharmaine "We have an express lane in Texas." :D

  • as dumbledore said, everyone has good and evil inside of them, it's what we choose to act upon that matters the most.

another great saying is "an eye for an eye makes the world blind"

is it not strange that the USA is the only so called democracy that still enforces capital punishment?

and why do you shout so much?

  • sammyisacockmuncher

So what? America has become the greatest country on Earth by being different from other countries. It servers it right. Yes to death penalty. NO to turning America into liberal Europe (or ANY Europe for that matter). Whenever something changed in the original American system, it was a disaster.

  • FACT: Liberals are not afraid to cut up and throw away a human fetus, but reject the killing of convicted murderers. Can anyone say "contradiction"?

  • "FACT: Liberals are not afraid to cut up and throw away a human fetus, but reject the killing of convicted murderers. Can anyone say "contradiction"?" - braino2000

A fetus doesn't have a consciousness to lose, (well, at least in the first trimester) whereas criminals do. And way to jump to conclusions with your silly ideology labels that associate separate views on several separate subjects with each other at the same time.

  • Wow, I can't believe there is an idiot on here who can justify abortion and think the death penalty is wrong. So someone who has MURDERED someone else intentionally shouldn't get a lethal injection? It would actually probably be better for them, considering that in proper non-liberal states they would be in solitary confinement for the rest of there lives anyways. Anyone who gives murderers priveleges is insane.

  • "Wow, I can't believe there is an idiot on here who can justify abortion and think the death penalty is wrong." - braino2000

How does pointing out how consciousness has not even begun in a first-trimester fetus make one an "idiot"?

"So someone who has MURDERED" - braino2000

A questionable assumption, at most. What if the person to be executed was wrongfully convicted of murder? It has happened after all. If they only find out afterwards, they can't bring the executed back from the dead.

  • Can you prove this has happened?

  • "Can you prove this has happened?" - ma7799

    That what happened?

  • "It would actually probably be better for them, considering that in proper non-liberal states they would be in solitary confinement for the rest of there lives anyways. Anyone who gives murderers priveleges is insane." - braino2000

You're arguing that the death penalty would be better for criminals, and yet you're saying that anyone who gives murderers privileges (as if supporting what you consider better for them isn't at least similar) is insane? Can anyone say "contradiction"?

  • I am with you! There is a difference between good and evil. Evil scum need to die, so the death penalty is needed to rid our society of evil that lurks inside a human shell. There is no need to preserve them for life and give them the basic rights that there victims no longer receive.

  • Exactly. And plus...How can liberals care about the rights of murderers and not human fetuses?

  • "How can liberals care about the rights of murderers and not human fetuses?" - braino2000

First off what are you suggesting the word "liberals" even means? You seem to associate being against the death penalty with being in favour of abortion, but there were people who were against both, like Pope John Paul II for example.

That said there's a difference in terms of harm done. A 1st-trimester (or probably even 2nd-trimester) fetus isn't likely to have a consciousness to lose in an abortion.

  • "There is a difference between good and evil. Evil scum need to die" - ma7799

And who are you to judge? How much do you donate to charity? How often do you step in to help a stranger out? Before you get all holier-than-thou, just ask yourself how you can be so sure what they deserve. Their victims' rights may have been infringed upon but it's not like taking away those of the criminals will put those rights back. And if the argument is practicality why not do experiments on criminals instead?

  • Oh dude what did u smoke or eat, i wanna same thing

  • Its amazing on how he can speak so clearly while yelling. Please be carefull though you might hurt yourself. Keep up the good work.

  • It's really easy for you to debate against a camera. Try against an intelligent person and you'll be torn to shreds.

  • Nice attack, douchebag. Your probably a propaganda raped retard though. Please refute the points this guy makes. He might be loud and annoying, but he knows what he's talking about.

  • Jersey = state of wimps

  • true that, and i live in new jersey.

  • 'bout time. Thanks for the video. Couldn't have said it better.

  • "while this freakin' murderer of this 7-year-old daugher sits in a jail cell, watching cable TV, eating 3 meals a day, and working out in state-of-the-art fitness equipment paid for by the American taxpayers" - drinkingwithbob

False dichotomy much? We can reduce the number of priveleges given to prisoners without reinstating the death penalty. We can have different prisons for different kinds of crimes so that people who commit different degrees of crime don't have to have the same conditions

  • yeah. different prisons, and I bet the dems will love charging the tax payers for that, too.

  • "yeah. different prisons, and I bet the dems will love charging the tax payers for that, too." - braino2000

Oh come on, it's not like I was suggesting to build new ones. In case it wasn't clear enough, my idea was to keep the existing prison buildings and use different prison buildings for different kinds of crimes.

And it's not like the Democrats are the only party wasting tax money right now either.

  • I agree that Bush is a lavish spender and an idiot, but he's not every republican. I guess I'm just sick of dems because im in WI and my governor is JIM FUCKING DOYLE. The guy's a crook. But I guess he doesn't represent every dem either.

  • "I agree that Bush is a lavish spender and an idiot, but he's not every republican. I guess I'm just sick of dems because im in WI and my governor is JIM FUCKING DOYLE. The guy's a crook. But I guess he doesn't represent every dem either." - braino2000

Exactly. This is why we shouldn't be thinking about this along partisan lines.

  • By the way have you ever been to the city of St. John's on the Newfoundland island? Last I checked the mayor of that city is Andy Wells, and while I don't know much about him, from what I've heard of him he's so tight with money that he's been fairly condescending to people who suggest certain spending measures...

  • Our state hasn't executed a single prisoner since capital punishment was reinstated in 1976 so the abolishment of the death penalty by the state legislature simply made into law a policy that the state had been abiding by since 76. In fact part of the reason for abolishing it was because of the costly appeals process guaranteed to death row prisoners.

  • break the Prozacs in half next time.....

  • Well done New Jersey !

  • Emotion is the main thing, get rid of it, and no killing, nothing.

  • and this dude.. my Gawd. He's a meth addict. No one else can talk that fast..

  • pffffttt

Coming from a country of people that think it's ok to bomb Iraq (while holding Uncle Sam's nukes as a constrant threat over them) because THEY *might* have one or two WMDs? What fucking hypocrasy

Wake up USA you look stupid.

Stick your death penalty up your arse. You never really know someone or the mitigating factors. If a woman plots to murder the man who raped her 12 yo daughter, who then killed herself, do you kill that woman? Should you then kill the executioner too then?

  • mistakes? What about your own mistakes???

A murderer doesn't know what life means wether he said he knows !

  • the death penalty has been proven to not do a thing

killing for killing does not make it right

the death penalty merely perpetuates the tragic, unending cycle of violence that destroys our hope for a decent society

  • cry me a river. if you kill someone in cold blood, you deserve to die, there is no gray area, empathy for murders does not and will not make a "decent society". So i guess in your utopia when send murders, farms to live for the rest of their days, while the person/persons they killed will never get to see another ounce of this world, YOUR A FUCKING HUMANIST!!!!!!

  • cry me a river???

    haha

ok macho man. what an ego

try to let your arrogance take a backseat and look at the stats

statistically and morally it does not do a thing

I'm not saying people should NOT be punished

you're great at missing the point

    the DEATH PENALTY is stupid

wow, so you're assertion of me being a humanist really pisses you off

get some help before its too late

  • Humanist was meant sarcastically, do statistics convey a persons feelings? you go and talk to a mother who has had a child killed, and the murder only do 40 years and then get out on parole after 20, ask her if she felt compensated enough for her childs death, you don't have the balls. How is the death penalty "stupid"? if you murder someone in cold blood, why shouldn't you die we as a society understand this, its just the bleeding hearts like you that let murders walk free.

  • I said MORALLY too einstein

    try to pay attention

killing some1 for killing a loved 1 does not bring that loved 1 back

    it just adds more negativity

    revenge is a self-fulfilling prophecy

WHEN DID 2 WRONGS MAKE A RIGHT???

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"

    - Mahatma Gandhi

  • lol do you know a damn thing about "mahatma Gandhi", do some research before you quote a man, who had issues with everyones bowel movements."when did 2 wrongs make a right???" exactly, yeah it won't bring that someone back but "it'll make me feel a helluva lot better" -Ron White

  • listen to the MESSAGE fool

you're incapable of paying attention to the topic at hand, which is the death penalty

and your response is from RON WHITE???

    hahahaha

    Ron White........ Gandhi........

    hmmm

I think I'll go with Gandhi

saying you feel a lot better b/c the killer is dead is a self-fulfilling prophecy

Why can't he be in prison???

"no, he has to die!!!!" ludicrous logic

  • issues with bowel movements. Hehe..

Hey didn't he die with atrophied muscles, of starvation in a hammock because he went a little far with his veganism. So far that he wouldn't eat vegetables because they had souls or walk because a blade of grass could be injured.

It's a very touching quote though. Perhaps made before he went senile?

  • "killing some1 for killing a loved 1 does not bring that loved 1 back"

Of the 1099 murderers executed since 1977, none of the 2047 or so victims ever came back from the dead, so you can drop that childish argument.

  • thanks for taking my comment doing research on the matter and then proving my point

2 WRONGS NEVER MAKE A RIGHT

THE DEATH PENALTY IS A WASTE OF TIME

just b/c some1 isn't being killed does NOT mean they are NOT being punished
