  • @Finny1996 who's your teacher? Which ryu do you study? Who in japan can I contact to verify your training?

  • Comment removed

  • @Finny1996 so you won't verify your training? how surprising, that never happens when i ask people to do so. it's great you're dismissive of the head of two famous koryu schools, as well as a student of bokuden ryu. this method also appears in yamamoto ryu kenjutsu demonstrated by naruse kanji, and is shown in nawa yumios e-de miru jidai katana book. not to mention that etymology of the term wakizashi itself

  • lol "ninjers"

  • Why do this? Why claim to be a part of something that you are not, then act and speak in such ways as to bring it into disrepute? You are not a member of Katori Shinto Ryu, no commenter here is. None are known to the Shidosha. Your spirit and words betray you.

Anyone who knows anything about Katori Shinto Ryu would not publish nonsense and aggression. They would not seek conflict. They would never stoop to infantile name calling.

So much ego, so much anger.

  • these throws looks so weak. dont take me wrong. i dont know if they are or not. but wouldnt it be better to show the target? can i request some more demonstrations? with a nicer camera? im sure you can buy a camera that produces 10x better quality online for like 40 bucks

  • Holy crap...an actual master like McCarthysensei would actually kill you for having the temerity to say that you are even a student of Katori Shinto Ryu

  • @MrWonkoSane

No my friend, I doubt very much that he would even think a single violent though. He might consider the poster to be a fool, but beyond that this person would not even register.

  • @rabbitlugsify Perhaps so...it's just really sad to see something like this after I've actually had seminars with McCarthy and done some sword work with him, you know?

  • @MrWonkoSane

I can imagine. It's a shame to see such a spiritual art so badly misunderstood and misrepresented. The heart of this ryu is based on spiritual development as much as anything else, demonstrating control and strength of spirit, being an example to others of how to live.

Screaming, swearing, patronising and condescending are utterly incompatible with this spirit. How much a person reads means nothing, the amount they know means little, it's what they say and do that counts.

  • You can throw it. But can you make a handful yourself from scratch?

  • This would seriously put u off doing the M.A that this guy does! Geekjitsu!

  • @ksr1219 I have always thought of musashi not as a swordsman, but as a warrior that happened to use a sword when it suited him. Most of his major duels were fought with sticks, he fought the famous oar duel against a live blade, and in short was an all around badass. Weather or not he was the greatest swordsman, he was definately one of the top warriors. Remember in over 100 duels time after time, against swordsmen with live blades he never lost a duel. EVER.

  • @ksr1219 That is because he did not take up the 2 bladed style until later in life, and was mostly done with dueling by then. Most of his duels were actually fought with a stick, not a sword, he was just that much better than everyone else at the time.

  • oh yeah i checked it out there are no katori shinto ryu dojo in Bergenfield NJ or any were in the whole state so yea your right you didn't show any technique of katori. you a fuckin lair dude. your justa little kid pretending to be a ninja lol. oh yea by the way the bujinkan is a school of retards worshiping Masaaki Hatsumi. and anyone who has studied real ninpo knows that bujinkan has been horribly modernized much like karate. you what 2 know real ninpo go learn genbukan at least their kobudo

  • jay bell sensei of santa rosa katori

  • @Coyotespirit4 I'll send jay a message right now and tell him what you're doing.

  • @scottbaioisdead lol tell him what i'm doing you know he's not going to do anytthing right because i've done nothing at all. your just mad cuz i called you out lol. you know thats very sad. I should be asking who your teacher is

  • @Coyotespirit4 it gets so b0oring dealing with fakes like you, i sent jay an email just now i'll be sure to make a nice video when he says you're not his student

  • @scottbaioisdead so I see i can give u my sensei name but no name from you huh ok ur a child that pretends to know about things that anyone can plainly see the flaws in what you say

  • You are breaking the rules of Tenshin shoden katori shinto ryu. When you ether sign the blood oath or agreement the very first thing on it says you are not allowed to demonstrate ANY technique to any one.You better hope you are not really in katori or your in real deep shit my friend

  • @Coyotespirit4 pay attention. 1 that's not the rule 2 the keppan is only done at one dojo 3 I didn't show any tsksr technique 4 if I did you wouldn't know. You damn kids nowadays are so annoying

  • @scottbaioisdead Umm 1 i've been doing katori shinto ryu for 10 years. 2 the keppan is done almost every dojo of katori shinto ryu that I've ever trained in. and the most important #3 yes you did show techniques of tsksr you even video taped it and put it on youtube.and 4 yes that is the rule I have my keppan hanging on my wall as well as all the rules so i know what the hell I'm talking about so you better take this offline or you will surely be kicked out of katori.

  • @Coyotespirit4 it's so funny you say that when otake sensei says the exact opposite, so who's your teacher? i'll call him in the morning and tell him his student is an asshole who thinks he knows what he's talking about

  • @Coyotespirit4 jay's number is already in my phone, you might want to check out my negishi ryu shuriken video, those shuriken might look familiar they're from "your teacher"

  • @scottbaioisdead and dude does your teacher have Shidōsha. because if he doesn't he can be booted out as well

  • @Coyotespirit4 since you want to be a little fuck who acts like he knows anything about tsksr where in japan were you living when you took keppan? please show you gaijin card on camera to verify your residence in japan also list your teachers name and the nyumon ryo you paid in en, and by the way by even questioning what i showed here you can be issued hamon. fucking children need to learn to keep their mouths shut when dealing with people who actually study martial arts.

  • @scottbaioisdead i am no fucking child you little emo retard. you really know nothing about what your putting put. you have horrible form. your lieing at every turn. u say ur a black belt in tang soo doo since u were 12: Impossible! and how can me questioning you about your obvious breach of rules get me a hamon i'll tell u it cant. i'm not a little kid like u who lies and pretends to be a budoka when he is obviously an egotistical little baby. the fact you are so defensive proofs my point

  • @Coyotespirit4 FOR THE 5TH TIME NAME YOUR TEACHER

  • @scottbaioisdead my names Jordan and Coyotespirit4 is right about what he says. you can not demonstrate anything to anyone in katori shinto ryu until you received a kyoshi and you still can not teach without special permission from sensei otake or some1 with a Shidōsha. so if you are in katori you should take this off ok.U cant just assume that you know more than the people who comment on your videos coyotespirit4 may well have been doing katori for 10 years.

  • @TheBongMaster4 hilarious, i deal with frauds who use fake accounts all day. you kids are so fucking stupid it's amazing

  • @scottbaioisdead I'm not kid dude i'm 39 and i'm not fake. you cant assume that everyone one who tells you your doing something wrong is a kid or a fake. I guarantee i'm at least 10 years older than you are and whatt did i say to make me stupid in your eyes? all i said is that coyotespirit4 didnt lie about people not being able to demonstrate moves from katori and if your a katori student you should take this off.

  • you are even embarassed of yourself!! you just keep looking around hoping no one sees how ridiculous you look in that gettup white boy wannabe ninja mastah!!

you are a whiny emo douchesicle!! you said girlfriend in one video i watched hahaha you meant loverboy rump ranger friend right?? i mean you must be gay?? not that its wrong to be gay its just dont try and be something your not!! asian and a hetero have no place in your self inventory holmes!!

  • im in the army

hopefully the secret police dont arrest me for breaching national security

and have black baggers take me away lol

  • it's kind of useless doing these types of styles now, and I don't even know why you two are bitching and whining about techniques where as if both of you were in a real fight situation, you wouldn't be able to bring your katana's out, specially on the streets when you'll have a bullet to your head before you could even think about using your shuriken

  • @del885 bullets are considered toteki buki, shuriken are toteki buki, you think japanese martial arts don't use guns? most of my class are military or police.

  • @scottbaioisdead Then I would like for you to show me a demo of you using a shuriken whilst being ambushed during a patrol in Iraq, Afghanistan or baghdad. why try to be something that you are not...

  • @del885 how about you go over to e-budo and ask that to the owner of the forum who studies the same martial art and is currently in iraq and has been for the past few years. what branch of the military are you in again great combat expert?

  • @scottbaioisdead Sure.. and breach national security like what you are doing now... lol.... you guys really don't think don't you... and I bet you the guy that is deployed isn't throwing shurikens at the insurgents now is he?

  • @del885 hahahahahah a fuck like you pretending to be a top secret military guy. fuck off little kid, martial arts are for grown ups.

  • how hard was it to move around with those 2 swords on you.

  • Show the targets . . . Show what you've hit . . . Show your accuracy . . .

    You're only about 12 feet away from the target aren't you . . .

Now, if you were to hit the target while standing on that "deck" behind you to your right - then I'd be impressed . . .

  • For the love of Musashi, learn to wear your daisho like they were part of your wardrobe and NOT like they are strap-on arm rests. By the time you got one out to fight with, you would be in 3 pieces.

Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu trains in ALL weapons, and dates to the 1480's. They have one of the longest lineages in all budo. But unless you straighten your wrist you will never achieve good penetration with boshuriken. They do not flip unless you are fucking up. Spiral them and they will fly.

  • samurais doesn't use shuriken

  • @Oesquartejador yes they did.

  • yeah they fly different they fly onto the floor

  • Are you carrying the Hanwei Practical Plus Daisho?

  • Can I see the board you're setting this camera on? I mean, throwing some shit at a rickety fence that makes the camera move is kind of sad. Do your parents know what youre doing to there property?

  • sniggers* heh just bfore 0:50 you resemble battosai, thats acomliment not an insult,

btw, how, insomewhat ore specifc terms, does the swordmake it harder to throw, my guess is either the longsword can get in the way, or its a weight issue, ami even close?

  • the weight changes everything. the rotation of the torso is so different

  • also, about holding the two swords,... VERY interesting, prettymuch EVERY source and picture ive seen shows it not as you describe, from artwork to manga.

and how heavy are those shuriken

not onlythat, but youve nmentioned the assertionbefore shuriken wernt really a kweapon that can kill, or are meant to. something along those lines, so talk about stopping power here seems kinda contradictory.

also, wish u could have moves the camera to show the shuriken stuck into the target.

  • the shuriken are very heavy. the two swords thing is very important. you can't draw the wakizashi if you wear them manga style the tsuba will hit each other

  • not just manga, traditional artworks of samurai too,

the thing i dont get is if the wakizashi is near flatagainst your chest like that, how sdo your draw with our left hand, since if youwere to draw them both, d , logically hold daito in the right hand *ddrawn like normal batto for sake of arguement, and the shoto with the left, being an offhand blade, even with the right hand to position it like that and drawit isnt as easy as having it straight out in front (yes i tried with my own blades fyi

  • the whole thing about using both swords at the same time wasn't done as much as you think so it wasn't really a concern

  • mm, begrudgingly myreadings have lead me to believe that too, evn in the case of musashi, but still, drawing the wakizashi from that position by either hand isnt easy

abit of fiddling suggests thebest medium is the longsword at a 45 degree angle with your chest and the wakizashi straight, u have reasonable ability to draw both with the appropriate hands, or drawing the shoto with the right hand

(as you may have guessed i dont know very muchcomparedto you about this, my fields karate, )

  • @scottbaioisdead Musashi Miamoto popularized the 2 sword style, but not untill long after tenshin was founded. I am a fan of his double gedan.

  • oh on the subject of shuriken, on korisuya you have the tetsumari.. they arnt REALLY ball shaped, are they? silly question i know bit it does kinda look like it is, and wonderin if its the camera or somethng,

i assume though theyre not thrown like normal, but just pitches similar to a baseball,

  • @scottbaioisdead The katana is drawn high and takes the center, the Kodachi is drawn low and sweeps the thigh if it is near. This prevents the tsuba locking.

  • @xarlock667 i love you're giving me instructions on how to throw shuriken. whose your teacher? how long have you lived in japan? what ryu of shurikenjutsu do you study? can i have the title of your book so i may purchase it? who published your works on shuriken?

  • @scottbaioisdead I do not live in Japan. Have no intrest in doing so. I am not being a dick, or trolling, I also practice tenshin ryu. In your video you keep bending your wrist. This causes your shuriken to flip. Keep your wrist straight and instead rotate it to induce spin. Think of it like a bullet. It uses centrifugal force to stabilize. It is not a knife and not a throwing star, it does not have an edge, just a point.

  • @xarlock667 actually bending the wrist back brushes the tail of the shuriken to slow the rotation which is the method of jikidaho shuriken technique of tenshin shoden katori shinto ryu, once again who is your teacher?

  • @scottbaioisdead I train privately and will not give my teacher's name without his permission. I will ask him and get back with you. The way he showed me was to launch the shuriken like a spike and rotate the wrist to spin it. I stabilize the tail by allowing it to ride the inside of my fingers for a moment as it leaves my grasp. Try it out and get back to me.

  • @xarlock667 well theres only two people who teach it in america and i know both of them. weird though you just described exactly what i did in the video. looks like you need to train your eyes more. i'll email both of them and tell them their student is discussing the style online, which as you know from the paper your signed is a no no.

  • @scottbaioisdead I will keep this short.

    1) You cannot take criticism. This leads me to believe you have a broken spirit, or a bruised ego.

    2) Your form is horrible. You cannot even wear your swords properly.

    3) If you continue attacking everyone that tries to help you, you will end up a friendless looser. Having few friends because you choose to is not the same thing.

    4) How DARE you bitch at me about discussing the style when you POST A FUCKING VIDEO.

    Grow up.

  • @xarlock667 thanks for proving you don't study the style. you broke half the rules of the school in that last post. if you want to pretend you study a prestigious koryu know what it requires you to do on your first day of class you lying fuck.

  • @xarlock667 Try not to be so hard on him, he's obviously autistic.

  • te depictions you might have looked at might have not been katori shinto ryu it could have been many things mabe itto ryu or others but even still alot of senseis teache things difurently it could just be a veriation

  • just a kid

  • camera abuse?

  • Do you know Katori Shinto Ryu?

  • no.

  • YERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • JapKarateSucks, how dare you have the balls to try to send me a friend request with the racism you have, hell, I'm a karate ka anyway so you'd have to make fun of me too.

  • By the way shuriken weren't only a ninja weapon they were samurai weapons too.

(they don't understand real martial arts, scott) Great Job anyways scottbaioisdead.

  • Ninja were samurai. :)

  • yup

  • Wrong..

  • nope 100% correct

  • Nope ninjas were actually from ireland. the art of bujinkan ninjutsu actually originated in swden and waspassed on to irish people, the risih people then sailed to japan at the beginning of town and taught them it and how to drink alcohol... trust me im uber. +your shit at throwing.

  • You're shit at living so it evens out the odds. XD

  • LOL

  • I know, I'm very blunt. Like today, some assholes passed by in a car laughing at my friend and I yelled that they should go suck a dick. Probably did, because they started speeding up, as if they didn't want people to see what they were doing. 8O

  • its a big pet peeve of mine when people start cursing you out as a response to you saying something they dont like. some people are asshats.

  • It's called delusional, they'll snap out of it soon.

  • punk thats a japanese gi and hakama, the traditional wear of (usually weapons related and samurai) japanese martial arts. By the way shuriken weren't only a ninja weapon they were samurai weapons too.

  • Isn't that nice? A pre-pubescent potty mouth has come to your defense. Ninjas don't exist? Gasp! Maybe you guys should go tell your ninja cult leader Masaaki Hatsumi. He's been pretending to be a ninja for years.

Emo ninja, if you can't take criticism, maybe you shouldn't be so critical of others.

Posthumously is one word. I mention it only because you seem to have an compulsion to tell others about their grammar/ spelling errors.

The expletives and bigotry is very classy.

  • Oh, look I made the LARPing emo ninja angry. Don't cry emo ninja. I'm surprised your mommy let's you play with swords in her backyard. How sweet. The other kids probably beat you up too much if you leave the yard, huh?

Fat? Funny. I suppose if my neck were the size of a normal human wrist, I'd call average sized people fat too.

Well, gotta go do big people stuff. I'll leave you to your Hatsumi fantasyland.

  • by big people you mean fatass? because you can't mean adult since you are starting fights on you tube. grow up you fucking stupid cunt. what a fucking disgrace you are. go try martial arts have a heart attack and post humously shit your pants on the dojo floor.

  • He ain't a ninja, ninja don't exist anymore, they're all dead and they'll stay dead. Oh, yeah, MMA is SOOOOO much better than ninjutsu, ninjutsu just doesn't have that special man on man gay sex that you'll only see on UFC. Go back to your sad, homosexual excuse of an art you call MMA while we actually practice real martial arts for a living.

  • It's the 21st century emo ninja. Take the pajamas off, you look ridiculous.

  • you're a 41 year old fat man using the term emo, i believe you're the one who looks ridiculous. get off youtube

  • Gah, I cannot believe I used to watch Choson Ninja.

What a blind child I was XD

  • I feel your pain, your not alone man.

  • 刀は、大小有った方が良い!

    刀は肩にさすより、腰の裏にさした方が後ろの敵をすぐキレる!scottbaioisdead の方の後ろに、かける人はあんまりいない!

    漫画の世界だけ!

  • Relax your shoulders more. And also try feeling your entire body throwing the shuriken, get in the mind set that your weapons are a part of you and you are your weapons, then over training like this for sometime it'll get easier trust me. Put you entire soul into the technique and you will excel. My sources : 7yrs. of ninpo. Who is your sensei might i ask? and is shurikenjutsu the only ninja art you practice?

  • this is not ninpo, shurikenjutsu isn't a ninja art. don't worry i know how to throw shuirken, the shuriken themselves are the problem they require a changed style of throwing. my source 8 years of bujinkan budo taijutsu.

  • True, but they were used by them. Anyway, nice, it looks hard to throw them in a hakama along with the Katana and wakizashi. Keep its up. By the way, wheres your camera standing in the beginning, every time you strike, it knocks it down. Take care.

  • diff, angles?.........probably becuase he throw like a girl

  • he throw like a girl. nice grammar there, your use of english appears to be as shitty as your photography

  • That's o.k. One of my aikido friends said that to do aikido, you have to learn to walk like a woman!

  • Nice throws. Your wakizashi looks kinda long. Didn't you by mistake pack two longswords? ;-D

  • haha no i just like longer wakizashi, which is annoying because they're hard to find.

  • I wish you had filmed from a different angle, or from various different angles : (

  • Informative as always! Thank you for your time.
