  • all the thing is, is a re-designed Saitek X-45

  • Lol... All this for an arcade game... Try DCS Warthog!

  • Haha i rigged it so my saitex flight simulator controlor worked rofl but they cost 100$

  • Idonof. Do you want to sell

  • i guess its bad that i have this in a box sitting in my attic....

  • Penguwhisperer I'll buy it off you,how much

  • i have one of those and i got it for free never used :)

  • why do u think you put the throttle on one side and the joystick on the other?

    IT MAKES IT MORE REALISTIC!!!!!

  • Where can I get one.anybody?

  • hey man what if you want to put the joystick on the right hand side of your body and the throttle on the left like it is IN A REAL PLANE YOU DUMB ASS

  • There is vibration on the joystick, I'm not quite sure if it mine is different but mine does vibrate a lot.

  • My ace edge dose have vidration.

  • the reason the white wire is long is because the joystick is supposed to be on the right side of your chair and the throttle is supposed to be on the opposite side of the chair, they are not meant to be right next to eachother

  • I just got one from ebay for $60 and it DOES have force feedback vibration!

  • @kimo7777777 i got mines for 129.99 when it first came out back in 2007 lmao

  • They want $600 for a sealed version of this game. -.-,

  • I was going to buy one on eBay but now I'm not so sure I want it. You just saved me $60 to $100, thanks!

  • I loved it when I got it. But the 360 one wasn't as good as the ps2 one from ace combat 5. Bought both new. Problem is the 360 one has a deadspot in centre

  • 22 people have hands the size of incredible hulk's.

  • The buttons feel plastic-y.......alrighty then. I'd assume so

  • I woder if these could work on BF3 since it has jets

  • @ManofDeath3666 pretty sure it will work for BF3 since it has the xbox controls on the joystick but might be hard to shoot and walk with it

  • will the flight stick work with the new ace combat: assault horizon? or are they gonna make another stick?

  • Thank you very much, this was very informative :D

  • will it blend?

  • i just bought one brand new from a car boot... £15 lol bargin.. think ill stick the cunt on ebay n get some money for it

  • does anyone know how this joystick works with Apache: Air Assault, or other games?

  • @SaccharineLlama I use mine on Apache, and IL2 Sturmovik birds of prey. I find its very good in Apache but takes a little more practice on IL2. The only thing lacking is more games for the sticks.

  • @Lithonion1 do you have Apache for xbox? I've been trying to find someone that wants to play some co-op. If so add me on xbox. my gamertag is yogidrummer333

  • @reevesrandall Apache air assault? if so i got it.

  • does it work on PAL?

  • wow that dead zone is huge! whats the best stick to get w/ the best response?

  • @dreamgetter13 FLY 9 by mad cats its wireless and 99.99

  • @robertisamazingful Thanks but i guess i should have been more specific. I own a ps3. I know this vid is for a 360 stick but im real new to the flight sim world so im just getting my feet wet & checking everything out. Is there any good ones for the ps3 that you know of w/ force feedback & good response?

  • @dreamgetter13 Actually there is no dead zone. Ace Combat 6 is the problem. The programming makes it so you have to fly with hard motions and can't fly with light touches. It works amazingly with most every other game.

  • "Quite Cheap and nasty really"

  • Yes all controklers have a dead-zone but if u notice the size, this ones is much much bigger. Most 360 contollers dead-zones are so small they are almost non-existant.

  • The long cord isn't at all ridulous. I got to play around with one of the air forces FA-18 Flight simulators. The controls are very spread apart and your, quite ironically, comfortably sat in a seat that could be a recliner in ur bedroom. What they're simply doing is if you want to recreat this life-like affect that you have in a real aircraft only in your own chair. Besides the cord is easily tied up like on ur video. As for the dead zone, all controllers like that have them, it takes tuning

  • too many buttons lol

  • i wonder if u can use this for Ace Combat Assault horizon?

  • @USSWISCONSIN64 yes its not like its progammed just for AC6. it is basically a normal controller accept the trigger is held all the time.

  • Very nice review. however, the long cable between two joysticks is not ridiculous but very smart. If you know the real cockpits of F-16, F-22, etc. it is very clear. you must also know if you have ever used T.Flight Hotas X whose cable is too short to put them in between you.

  • do you have to pay microsoft points for the xbox system in order to play ace combat 6 online....I was on the ace combat 6 website and clicked on the DLC section and it said that playing online was a DLC

  • I just hope it'll work with hawx 2 and ace combat 7

  • If you look at an actual cockpit of a fighter plane, you'll notice that the joysticks are on each side of the seat. Hence the long white cord, so that you can place both sticks on seperate sides and hide the cord under or around the seat.

The dead zone sucks to hear about. In an actual fighter barely moving the stick 1/8 of an inch will adjust the rutters enough to turn the plane around in a few seconds. Very great design, very dissapointing product.

  • I would the throttle on my left and the stick on my right. EPIC

  • Comment removed

  • wow i'm pretty happy i only got the game and not all this bullshit

  • Ya the dead zone is a huge let down, but who cares if it is wireless or not? I mean even wired it stretched all the way across your room, how much farther do you need? Do you plan on playing in the kitchen with your T.V upstairs? Besides like Lesley Henriquez said, it saves lots of batteries and lots of money. The only difference between wired and wireless is the money saved and the wire, that is it. Video game players need to get their head out their asses and realize that.

  • Hmm. Looked like a decent buy until the deadzone thing. Guess I'll just stick to the regular gamepad :(

Do like none of these developers pick up on this during testing or do they just not care?

  • "It does look expensive, which it is"

    Oh, how convenient.

  • where did you get it

  • Where did you buy this? from China? xD

  • its another piece of shit that suckers like u waste ur money on and make the jews even richer...... the game AMAZING but is one of the only good games on the xbox

  • Wired eliminates the huge loads of batteries every month.

These days only my mouse is wireless, but even that has a wired backup.

    You overestimate wireless.

  • @lesleyhenriquez huge loads? Rechargeable batteries all the way. It's even weird to think otherwise.

  • @kriptonis then buffer times before you can play over just having a wired controller and keep playing till the controller wares out. only reason why people don't have wire is either they don't have room to dedicate space to gaming, don't like taking care of a wire's all together,(which doesn't mean anything) or they have animals if you have the room and your animals are well trained(or they are not in your room or you don't have any or they simply don't go after your wires) use wires its cheaper

  • @pathofchaos1 what people do is have a spare set of charged batteries. When the ones on the gamepad run out, replace and recharge, no waiting time. Modern mouses/gamepads have built in batteries and charge by USB. They are always charged. Technically you have both wireless and wired (when charging). Yes wired is cheaper. But so is writing in a piece of paper. And yet, here we are writing in the computer. Versatility.

  • @kriptonis More batteries = more money, and as time's get worse, and prices go up I'am looking for cheaper things, but still have a good time playing. I prefer wired, because my room is constructed in a way that the only place my controller cant reach (except for the ps3's standard u.s.b. cable) is when I'am leaving my room or out of site of my t.v. and monitor so wire isn't a problem for me so i keep it as is. (fyi) I'am not such a money grubber as everything has to be cheap.

  • @pathofchaos1 umm you do know most modern game controller have lithium ion battery packs which are rechargeble

  • @MADBLUETHANG Didn't read into the convo much did you, and just looked at 1 comment -_-.Then you have a buffer time for recharge and then comes the i got 2 sets 1 to charge and 1 to play on well thats were loss of money comes into play when you could of just had a wire and totally gone past a few problems "1 money for batteries, 2 the buffer time for its recharging, 3 and the random pop ups like on the Xbox that makes a screen show up and say hey your batteries are low and then you get sniped.

  • @lesleyhenriquez use rechargeable batteries

  • @lesleyhenriquez the ps3 wirless controller si the shit dont need batteries but the 360 controller feels much more comfortable

  • @lesleyhenriquez i wish i could find a wired one though the batteries are raping my wallet

  • @lesleyhenriquez It's not the case with the new gloss Xbox 360 S Controller. Honestly, here's the proof. I have a pair of Energizer RECHARGEABLE 2200mAh +AA batteries which last for literally a month without recharge with vibration turned to 50% and two months if its 25% (except you hardly feel it). But it runs out in a day if vibe. is max.

  • @MuzzaHukka Could be true. But that is one little controller. I have a Wii, xbox360, PS3, pc with joystick joypad mouse keyboard penpad, and then I leave out remotes, which cost me enough batteries on their own. I chose to have all those pads and boards wired because it is a hell of a job to keep stocked on batteries, alternative is rechargeable but you always three sets behind, then there is Li-ion batteries but they run out in 2 years. 360 glossy controller does not end it all.

  • @weerobbiet Actually real fighter jets don't have that kind of dead zone. Working on F-15's part of my job entailed performing operational checks and rigging the flight control system.

  • That really is an awful dead zone... that cuts down horribly on precision control. Thanks for the review.

  • @BansheeHallow microsoft were the ones who came-up with and created the ace-edge package. Not a third-party.

  • The reason because the controler is not wireless is because Microsoft doesn't allow 3rd party companies to make wireless accesory.

  • have you tried this stick with PC?

i think the jog wheels on the throttle are there becuse the stick is (well seems to be) a clone of the saitek x42/52 sticks. that dead zone is pretty horrendous, is there any fix?

  • DARN if you are going to bother with all the kit i.e. expensive flight controls, at least play the game from cockpit view and make it realistic GRRRRR

  • what's the spinning nobs for on the throttle controller??

  • can this work good with the hawx game plzzz answer plzz????

  • @MyHaloman123 yes it can, hawx is compatible with any xbox 360 flight sticks

  • that is awesome !!!!

  • @ afuturesoldier, hold the left and right bumpers and the autopilot will come on

  • i think ima stick with the controller rather than a flight stick cuz im used to those controls and that thing isnt wireless and like he said not sensitive and the controller is alot more sensitive

  • @afuturesoldier ok well ive tried everything. All buttons, and none of them are auto-pilot

  • @afuturesoldier as far as i am able to tell they don't hav an auto-pilot on the controller. I will keep experimenting and get back to you on that.

  • @afuturesoldier yes they do on ebay, like he said, for a rediculous amout.

  • wait on the regular xbox 360 controller wat activates the auto pilot

  • do they still sell this package

  • i agree with u for it being so expensive they should have made it more sensittive

  • the lack of sensitivity just adds to the realism. a real fighter jet does not have very sensitive flight sticks (more sensetive than this one though). you have to be brutal because you want the plane to do what you want it to do (did that sound wierd?)

  • microsoft doesn't let third party companies make wireless controllers so the wire is unavoidable

  • Great review mate, would love to get one of those sticks, but for the apparent high price, dead zone and no vibration atall, i dont think i will be getting one, thanks alot you saved me some money ;)

  • Hey man, I don't think Ace Combat is the best example for the stick even though it's the game it was made for. I have it and feel similar about the stick on that game. However if you play something like After Burner Climax, it is way more responsive and vibrates like crazy when hit. At least for me it did.

  • 16 people missed the thumbs up button

  • You have it the wrong way round, and probably very un comftable, throttle is normaly on the right?

  • I'm definitely a PS3 fanboy, but this is quite awesome!

  • I was thinking about buying one but the dead zone, it being wired and the no vibration features are un forgivable. Beleive me, I'm a pilot and in real life if my controls were that sloppy the plane would be unflyable!

  • it's a saitek x45 with litlle difference :\

  • x 52 pro flight stick mod is better

  • I think you talk too much... :P

  • On June 4, 2010 for $19.99 I got mine used at a GameStop. I have seen both reviews for this controller and want to let both reviewers know that my controller 1) has a rumble feature on it and 2) does not have a severe "dead zone" mentioned by you. Maybe there is more than one model of this stick (I am aware of a re-release in U.S. Best Buy stores), or there was a conflict because of playing the PAL version or the rumble was just turned off. I have had no such problems with mine. I love it.

  • thats way too much dead zone :S

  • Excellent review, mate! The deadzone and force feedback is what kills it for me...

    Thanks for your time!

  • it ant crap it a great and it wud be good itf it didnt have tht dead zone and they mmade a new H.A.W.X and made a pad like tht for it cos the H.A.W.Xgame is great man i loved it well anuf of tht it ant tht bad is it

  • i like your British accent.

  • will it work with pc

  • @thekiller0673 Yes it does :)

  • Ace Combat is far too arcade for my tastes, sure looks pretty though...

  • I wouldn't buy joysticks for my xbox 360 thtas just me i dont think xbox games are realistic enough to buy joysticks buttt thats just me.

  • u talk too fast

  • I was looking at getting the Hori EX Black version of this controler which was only released in Japan for the 360. I was told the controler should with with my Xbox but not sure if the my version of Ace combat 6 will run it or not. The hori EX also has rumble this time around which the special edition did not? The EX was released last year so maybe they fixed some of the issues which are mentioned in this review.

  • Looks like a "rigged" version of an Atari 2600 Joystick... lmao

    -_-' :P

  • It's not wireless because it uses a massive amount of power

  • My sticks BROKE. I took them to a shop and they are fixing them up to working condition. It is costing me $80. I am so thrilled to get it back. I use these on ace combat, HAWX, Arma 2, BattleField 2. works great with PC flight Games.

  • Did you know that if you use a xim360, then you can use ANY PC control device with the xbox 360? Have you tried that yet? I used a Thrustmaster T-16000M joystick to play Midnight Club Los Angeles on Xbox 360. It worked pretty well. I could steer better than with the xbox controller thumbstick. It didn't have any huge dead zone either.

  • @XanaduZune I was mistaken. My Thrustmaster joystick does have a large dead zone when I use it with xim360 to play Xbox 360 games. The xim360 people said that it's the fault of the xbox 360 game itself. So it looks like it is common for xbox 360 games to have large dead zones to deal with the thumb sticks. My Thrustmaster joystick doesn't have a large dead zone when I play PC games with it. It looks like the xbox 360 system and its games just aren't designed for large analog joysticks.

  • That looks like the Saitek X45

  • nice review thanks

  • the joystick looks that one saitek joystick

  • lol my sisters bf gave this pacage to me for free, its super fun

  • I like the set up you have for you room or where ever your at. Its very roomy. Nice review 5 out of 5.

  • about the long wire....... the F16 has the throttle on one side of the cockpit and the stick on the other so u might wana do that so tht might be the reason for the long wire

  • Thanks for the review, I think I'll stick to my controller, rather than spend a load of money.

  • dude u have steering wheel as well u can see it at 1:46

  • reason why its that un sensitive is because it takes time for a plane to move dummy... its air speed determines the manuverability and the game does detect ur motion... u want the controls to be fake... understand the body of an actual jet fighter before u reveiw the controls of 1

  • The reason the wire is so long is cas in a real plane the controls are on the left and right of you, not in front. co the wire can go under you and the controlles can be on your sides

  • yh yh nice item etc but its canny messed up on the tv.. too unsensitive

  • I have the same for PS2 ))

  • how much was this ridiculous price? lol

  • True story, I pre-ordered Ace combat 5 just the game, awhile back for PS2 and was with my mom. Brought the receipt and he got a ladder out went to the top shelf and pulled down this huge box, and was like "Well there you go...". I was so excited and said mom gimmie your keys and ran out to the car and threw it in there just in case he realized what he had done. I scored the Flightstick bundle that retailed for 130$ for 50$. I recently just parted with it for 90$ to buy Mass Effect 2 etc. :<

  • wow...dead zone=fail ahaha

    other than that verrry cool

  • you cant just adjust the dead zone? that is truly what if u cant

  • very true mate. it is very unforgivable with the price it carries for the manufacturers to not make it uptodate. i hope in the future they will learn from this one.

  • looks just like the Saitek x52 but white

  • i wish they made the yaw controls for the feet

  • does this works on the PC?

  • idk if it does or not y u ask u got ac6 for pc?

  • carajo loco!!! se te debe salir el corazon de la emocion de pilotar con los controles en las batallas!!!!

    jjajajaj

  • you dont need ebay, i found some in best buy last cristhmas

  • lucky mofo

  • no duh the trigger is always made for guns and missiles, and that throttle will make u go faster,

  • its a brilliant game, all bad joysticks aside

  • so how much was the package when u bought it

  • I've done some research on this. The dead zone demonstrated is NOT an issue of the Ace Edge. The dead zone is in software in Ace Combat 6. On OTHER Xbox 360 games the dead zone is almost non-existant. ...Which leaves the question as to why an undisableable massive dead is in the game.

  • I LOVE ACE COMBAT 6

  • I suspect the crappyness of that flight stick is because AC1-6 are actually arcade flight games, not true simulators. So it really wanst made to be used with a flight stick. You want realistic and better flight sticks you might have to invest in a good flight sim.

  • I know it's been sometime since you have posted this and I was wondering if you still had the controller and could I purchase it from you. Just send me a message on my profile. Blackswat42 thankyou

  • MINE BROKE : '(

  • lol laughed my ass off when I saw the insensitiveness of the joystick. I got RSI just by looking at it.

  • The game isn't crappy, you are :P

  • @Cloudjor u have a pont i fink he a bit werid but stull H.A.W.X is better

  • @HAWX142 I'm not gonna discuss what game is better :P its going to be an endless conversation than :P but a few of the soundtracks of Ace Combat 6 a pretty good. but i will try HAWX maybe it has some intresting soundtracks a well :P

  • @Cloudjor actully i played H.A.W.X after the 5th level ull begin to hear the same music again....and again and again

  • @Cloudjor It aint crappy but it was the worse ace combat ever

  • u have bad taste for games

  • Comment removed

  • My taste in games is specific. For me a good game is a game that is affordable, entertaining and does not require you to buy additional non high quality hardware that you aren't going to use for anything else but the game in question. Don't say that my taste is bad, considering you don't even know what games I've played. Funny thing with the whole "limited edition" gig is that it's done only for games that don't sale as much as the others.

  • wow...i never knew about the dead zone until u said it....its reaally unnoticeable

  • wow i didn't now Ace Combat 6 have a limited edition

  • do u no ur left and right??? haha

  • can you change the buttons to suit other games like il2? please reply

  • i bought mine at bestbuy there were like 20

  • lol

  • thanks man that was great Review

  • were did you get that :(

  • if he's buying it for AN XBOX i would suspect he would know it's not realistic , and BTW FSX is only on PC

  • is there any way to buy this individually?

    is it compatible with hawx?

  • it is compatible with hawx

  • i asume ur a pilot then

    smartass

  • does it come with an exbox 360

  • can you use it for non flight games?

  • hey sajid,

got this controller myself (from ebay....paid ridiculous money lol...but i had to have it) this package is an exact copy (only in white) of the saitek X36 pack with the rotary controls deactivated. cos it cost me that much i went crazy and built a cockpit for it with a 20" monitor and a centre console and 4.1 surround system . ill post a video of it for you (to show you why you get the really long cable stop the "dead zone " by adusting the tension on the bottom of the stick.

  • I wonder if the X52 usb would work ?

  • XD lol

  • It is Compatible with other Flight games

  • its like a Saitek X45

  • ... but without the "like"

  • How much in GBP did this cost you?

  • google it

  • I have the stick right from the store and the dead zone is not there. You must have a faulty controler. My was very sensitive and worked great. Until something happened and now it does not work at all but I can tell you with certainty that the dead zone is not there if it is brand new from factory. Sorry dude
