@LiveURlifee8D I am very knowledgeable with electronics and am also stuck. After doing ALOT of research and trying them in stores, the D3100 is the better option. With sensor cleaning, 11 points of focus and better video recording...and 14 MP....the nikon is the better choice

@armeniaca85 this review is actually extremely dumbed down, and touts guide mode. True, it's an entry-level dSLR, but it's target audience is most likely ready and expecting to use full manual out-of-the-box. Sure, guide mode is good for mom to get that one picture with bokeh, but is only a store shelf selling point, not a feature a pro or amateur photographer is looking for.

I can't use autofocus! Well, i turn it on (i got a 18-105mm) but when i move the camera it doesn't automatically focus on the subject of my photo, I gave to focus it manually.. Help?

@QLsk8er you can do `anything you like with it- it even has prdictive focus - or u cud just use the sports mode - its so easy to use in guide mode - its all up to you to be able to Frame them - A++++ Buy it - u wont regret it

@joriel360 I am sorry, I was watching some other reviews of this particular model and a person asked the same question. That person said that its because of the memory card, he told the guy to use 6 series or something memory card stick. That guy with the same problem also said that when he uploads the videos on youtube they work fine, to this the reviewer said that Utube decompress the video. Any ways. I just felt the need to share this information with you. I may not be right. :)

Has any noticed that when you use the auto mode the picture quality is terrible?? I have been playing and reading about this and the camera is choosing terribly high ISO settings for itself. The other settings seem fine.... but pure automatic seems useless for decent pictures!!
