Quick question, I'm looking for a few low profile pouches to attach to my issued Interceptor vest. I need a pouch that can accommodate 6"L x 1.75"D x 2.5"W sunglasses case, 1 safety M16 mag, 1 pair of Mechanix gloves, PVS-14s, pen, paper, marker and the occasional plastic water bottle. I purchased the Max GP 7x5x4 for the NVGs, safety mag and water bottle. Would this pouch be overstuffed by the sunglasses case? Could you recommend any other pouches? The less bulk on my flak, the better. TY!
Monkey I just ordered a Eagle Land Ciras in Cyote Tan. What would be the best color to match my vest? I didn't see it offered in this color on your website. Thanks for making great gear and can't wait to get a hold of one of these admin pouches.
Mini review for Maxpedition Money Pouch Pros: Perfect size for ranger style vests Lots of storage room but not bulky Has velcro in front Well thought out design Price is right at around $30 retail Cons: You need Malice clips or tacties (something to secure it to gear) Conclusion: Awesome design great price would recommend but seriously guys that is the worst idea ever not having built in molle straps to this pouch. It makes for extra expense on the end user and does not improve performance.
I am jealous to admit, 'Monkey Combat' is the most genius name i've yet heard in the firearms and/or accessories industry. Nice work. Good vids. Good series! Keep it up!
the only possible thing I thing I can that could be a down fall is the velcro, but is perhaps the best and cheapest way to secure it, overall I am impressed I look forward to purchasing one great invention man
Yes I agree that this a good product, but as a former Marine Sniper, the velcro would give your position away, not many velcro sounding animals in the jungle or desert. Would suggest a buttons/button holes as an option or clasps... also a smaller pouch would be a nicer option for a survival belt kit...
Awesome product. Looks like it would go nicely on my Pygmy Falcon?
1) This pouch uses a lot of Velcro. I love Velcro but find it noisy (not good for stealth ops) and a pain to open with full finger gloves on. Have you considered adding 1/2" tabs to facilitate gloved usage?
2) What provision is available for attachment to a 3/4" shoulder strap for across shoulder carry?
Very great design Monkey! I've seen this product around for a while just never stumbled across this vid. I also design and build gear and it gives me an appreciation of your design skills! Very Impressive man! Now I wanna see a review of the Colossus bag!
I got this one on my ChestRig instead of an utility pouch on the side. Be surprised: works great for organization of smaller/middle size-items! But i hate the Velcro, it's too hard to open, esspecially if you have it on the Chest.
Sorry you find it hard. The design required a balance of velcro space since the flap connection will change depending on what is inside the pouch. Even with full velcro connection area, it shouldn't be hard to open with a strong 1 hand tug.
But I found an easy way to handle it: I put a tape on on side of the "opening-flap", which sice is half wide as the whole flap. So the velcro just touches the flaps half area, so its easier to open =)
despite that, its a great product!
I used it this week at my belt (!) with malice clips when i went on a trade show, but without the "half-tape". So my goods were unable to be stolen, great ;-)
The abundance of velcro closures & elastic used in the design of these items makes it purely recreational & essentially disposable as neither will hold up to long term/hard use. With that in mind, I find it to be overpriced & primarily used by kids, posers & REMFs trying to play it "combat cool." Adding military and pseudo-military patches, pins, tags & regalia only makes it worse.
A majority of the other admin pouches are similar priced with less features, velcro closure based, and lack inner elastic for the wearer to decide if they want to use. As a durability example, I have a crappy wallet with a little .5" velcro closure strip that has lasted 7+ years. The Monkey Admin is built with much better materials and I can assure you is not disposable. What users put on the outside of the pouch is up to them.
Ever wonder where all the in service gear comes from? Certainly not from troops in the field. It's the REMf's sitting at the desks that make the decisions about which pack to put on a soldier's back. At least people like Monkey care enough to get involved in that process and come up with something practical.
As for the velcro will fail, so will plastic clips and snap fasteners so your point doesn't have much validity.
I want to ask if you will ever release this in Crye Multicam. If you do I will hold off until then. If not I will be grabbing one in about two weeks. I want this bad.
Although Maxpedition is still considering multicam, it would be safe to say it won't be coming in the near future. Since the front of this pouch is mostly velcro anyway, The Khaki version should suit you just fine.

The MCAP is great, same size as a BHI Admin, but it has so many pouches and uses, you'd be dumb to operate with anything else on your chest.

How many tampons can you carry in this monkey bag. I like it for it's ease and functionality.

You could make a drawstring version for special ops that would also work the same way to secure the flap...

Am I the only one asking the BIG question:
"Why, frack sake, don't they come in Multicam?
I don't need a big oddcoloured square on my center torso.
As soon the MC version is out, I bying one...
As goes fore the Mega-Rolydump, no MC. :(
Geilswijk 3 years ago
Considering that the entire front of this pouch is loop velcro, I don't think a Multicam version will be available.
I have a Khaki medium rollypolly, it compliments Multicam well.

Great pouch bro. good work!
the idea that velcro wears out too soon is laughable. Even if so, like buttons it can be replaced. Maxpedition stuff is bombproof.
