I think that if you are influenced by conditioning, you are not expressing yourself as who you are but as what the surrending wants you to be. Being diffent is importent for the development of a group of people because more advanced people can inspire other less advanced to move foreward. If everybody just walks in line and listens to the standards, no person will stand out and help others.
