Just curious..but did these cars come with Air Conditioning..and if they did..does it blow really strong and cold? I am looking for one of these to purchase but live in the hottest part of the USA so AC is a must sadly. Thanks if you reply!
@Nightbird - Well not all models had A/C the early ones 68 to 69 air was a option but later most had the choice of manual or automatic climate control these are text book figures from a 69 model - A thermometer would go from 120F to 65F within 10 min of starting. Don"t for get this is a new system in 69 a lot today don't work and if so would need upgrading to new gas. From a collectors point of view a Mark 111 with air is worth 10% more then one without - good luck
@heymargaretlook Thank you for your very informative reply..you are obviously a serious Lincoln collector! I love the way this car looks, and if I could find a triple black one (love my cars all black) for a reasonable price it would be fantastic. I bet the AC on these cars if working is better than in the new Lincolns. I recently test drove the last year of Town Car, and couldn't believe how weak & poor the AC was. My '82 Lincoln Mark VI's AC would freeze you in 5 minutes...lol. Thanks again!
Is the gold Mark III in the video yours? I see the steering wheel on the right side. Is that correct? I have a Mark III and i would like to add a mirror to the right side. I need the mirror and the stainless strip for the door. Are these parts available where you are?
@guijaboard Oh yes it is and it is right hand drive sorry to say this conversion was done over 30 years ago by Buckens in Sydney long before I purchesed the car so I cant help you if could I surely would rock on man and good luck with your mark 3 cheers from Brisbane Australia.
@Sulify7 Yes it was one of the first Mark 3's which actually came out in late 1968 and sold as a 69 model by Lincoln. Elvis's mark 3 had all options like the seeing eye and hard top which were still options in 69 it was triple black, black interior, black paint and black hardtop. The early mark 3's had no head rests. Look forward to your post when you get it.
I read that Elvis was also used to promote the 1956 Mark II and bought a yellow one in the lower Florida area which I think was Miami. Back in 1977 i was in Florida when the Bee Gees had a Black 58 caddy limo for sale by their private seller and it had low mileage and was stored inside a cement based parking area.
@Wouldman2 there is a picture when Elvis made big in 56 in his garage he had a 56 Mark 2 Lincoln and a Cadillac Brougham the two best cars from GM and Ford.
I love it is Aussie made?I would love to find a mirror and top door trim from one to convert mine to dual mirrors. The passenger drive makes it that much 1971 lincoln mark III Minty's 400 hp 460 bb is my youtube video
@CeedeeRockradio My 69 was sold new in Hollywood in January 1969 still tracing original owners I know this from the marty report. The engine has been completely redone at a cost of over $6000.00 One of the nice options ordered was all factory tinted glass. checked your vid great, these car are escalating in value and jumped $7000.00 last year in 12 months cheers.
@heymargaretlook Wow so is it a passenger drive model just made in the us here you could fine one decent 2500$ to 4000$Southern cars are always more.pass.drive has to be the rarest option i've seen. And you might see em here but all stock which is cool...but even the customs pack stock motors I ran with mine. But yes and i ve predicted the sky rocket of these wonderful cars in value when i seen my first one so sinister even stock about 16 yrs ago.
I used to have a triple black '70 Mark III. It was actually a Memphis car. But, not Elvis'. Great looking car, but tons of electical issues. A mechanic was told me, "These cars are wired like a twelve story building."
Beautiful car and great video! Thanks for the comment on my Lincoln. I read that the last Lincoln Elvis bought was a '77 Mark V. It was white and I think he bought it for Ginger. There's a photo of it out there somewhere. I read once that he liked to give away Cadillacs but he preferred to drive Lincolns. Makes sense to me!!

So just to verify once again,
The Lincoln he drove in "Thats the Way It Is" was a Mark 3?
Were there any special specs on it? Or was it regular specs? Thanks.
I hope to buy one just like he had...

@heymargaretlook Interesting! Thanks for the info. I wonder how much they go for today in good condition. If not, it would be fun to fix one up! TCB
