  • what part of utah do you live in? you look familiar lol. i also have a 94 isuzu rodeo i love it.

  • @toofast4ubmx Happy valley

  • I found your channel by accident and watched your holding the glock slide video.... Decided to check out your other vids and found most of them to be DIY mechanic info.... as a fellow mechanic i just want to say i sub'ed your channel after watching two videos.... Just excellent Info with an awesome presentation..... Moved from NY to Savannah GA and i absolutely HATE IT... I hope i can make it out to UTAH's Wasatch valley as a permanent resident within the next year and a half...

  • @rainmechanic I love Utah, but many people struggle with the local culture- drives them crazy! lol

  • overall, how do you like the Rodeo? I'm looking at a 94 b/c I'm getting tired of the sluggishness of my pathfinder and the brokendown-ness of my sonoma. but the seller thinks it needs a water pump. Also do I necessarily have to pull the trans to change the clutch, because as with all the other issues with my truck(s10), the clutch is on the way out.

  • @Vacmasterthegreat They're great vehicles, but maintenance is spendy in labor times and parts, but they go like toyotas do.

  • @briansmobile1 have you ever worked on a pathfinder, for comparison?

  • @Vacmasterthegreat LOL! YES! LOTS!

  • @briansmobile1 the older ones?how do they compare to the rodeo? which one do you like better/ find easier to work on, in general.

  • @Vacmasterthegreat The Nissans are very similar, but the engines are WAY easier to service. The Isuzu Rodeo like this one has long labor times because it's designed play doh style in layers so you have to dismantle many unrelated components to perform services. The Duramax is the same way for the same reason.

  • WHat a piece of JUNK!

  • Hey man so.. i just had something happen to my clutch. I startedd my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo and i let out the clutch and it kinda jumped but i didnt kill it is was very weird as to why it happened i am not sure but i am trying to look at the clutch system and i cant get to it even just for a look at it. Is there an access panel to look at the clutch or anything? The more i look i cant see one.. I think what happened to your clutch may have happened to my Rodeo. Thanks for the video.

  • @StRaIgHtNiNjA13 There's a little cover you can take off. You're welcome.

  • I can not understand how they thought this set up would work from the start. I was so overwhelmed by the design I decided that I would research it and ran across this video. All I can say is thank you for taking the time to do this you've saved me a whole days worth work. This could be the most valuable info I have found to date. Thanks again

  • @QUALITYGERMANPARTS You're welcome. I like to help when I can. I try to leave a good path/bridge for the next guy.

  • Where were you and your genius two years ago when this happened the first time?! It happened again and this time the timing gods were watching over me. I saw you video, understood it perfectly and did it to my 2000 Trooper and so far, it's working out WAAAAAY better than I had hoped. Thanks for thinking the way the engineers should have been!

    Violentlee

  • @ViolentLee You bet- thanks for the post.

  • Awesome. You an ericthecarguy are by far the best at explaining things so that ppl can understand thanks!

  • @backwoodsctryboy You're welcome and thanks for stopping by- great to hear from you!

  • I welded a Honda Passport like you suggested this evening. It was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to connect the clutch fork. Hope to get it all together tomorrow evening and see how it works.

  • @mlstrawxj nice!

  • That's some good thinking outside the box

  • Love your vids! You are certainly a fountain of knowledge. Now you just gotta get some customers with vehicles I actually own and we're all set! LoL

  • What do you drive?

  • @briansmobile1 98 Jetta GLS (2.0) , 90 chev silverado ext. cab 2500 (350) and an 86 Olds. Toronado (3.8) with electrical issues. I HATE ELECTRICAL ISSUES!

Hey, do you know of an easy way to track down parasitical drains on the battery? I heard you disconnect the negative, then hit the fuse box with a tester. If you get power then that is the circuit effected. Does this jive? Seems to easy to be true.

  • "parasitical drains" I think are what I call "draws" or draws of current from the battery while it's not running. If the battery is disconnected you won't get anything from probing the fuse block. What you can do is pull a fuse of a suspected drawing circuit one at a time to narrow it down. For example pull the radio fuse for three days- see if it's rectified etc. that would isolate a radio draw (common) Another common one is a trunk light, glovebox light etc. or ig. switch.

  • @briansmobile1 Ya, that's what I thought too about the pulling neg and probe approach. It didn't make much sense to me when I was told it. Pulling the fuses to isolate was what I was thinking too. I just popped the neg off if I knew it was going to sit for 2 days or more. It's not on the road now though, can't afford to insure all 3 so the toy has to be parked. Gonna start isolating some of it's electrical nightmares. LoL 86 was a very buggy 1st year changeover, but a classic beauty!!

  • Thanks- glad you liked it. Wish I had seen something like this before I did it the 1st time!

  • nice video
