There's nothing racist about a possessed Filipina speaking Tagalog. What's racist is the subtitles in the copy of the movie I downloaded reads "(girl speaking in demonic language)" when she says "papatayin natin sila" LOL
by the way.. i searched in imdb.com ... the possessed girl's name is jhoanna trias... maybe she's a relative of jasmine trias.. the American Idol finalist.. they kinda look alike...
hahahaha! the grammar doesn't matter... it's not meant to be understood by most viewers the way they use latin in their incantations.. the first time i heard it I laughed so hard... it's kinda funny and cool that they used tagalog... most probable is the girl is Filipina...
SIYA, may prefer to the third person whether it maybe male or female ,...so i think the SIYA the demonio is talking about may pertain to Gawd,..eeer..i mean God
please people It's papatayin natin sila. mute the video and read her lips. Out of all the local Filippino/as I've shown this to. 87% say sila and 13% siya.
@EsteveMabuti I think you should get a better audio equipment. It's clearly "SIYA" (pronounced "SI-YA" = in old tagalog accent); It's spelled FILIPINO - single P; Not all Filipinos speak or understand tagalog. Those 87% that said "SILA" might be bisaya or whatnot; Lastly, it's not that fucking serious. The line wasn't meant for the general audience to understand.
how can she say "papatayin natin siya"? eh kaharap na niya si john constantine... what stupid demon naman nun hahaha... pwede kung "papatayin kita"... its "papatayin natin sila"... the parents, the people, and everbody else... her tagalog is good as the movie you can get..
@EsteveMabuti FYI, the reason why she said. papatayin natin sya is because there were more than one demon inside her. the statement was not for constantine but for the other spirits.

@arnoldnoki Actually, it does make sense. It is obvious the demon is speaking in third-person. it is something you learn in high school level English (I am not sure about Tagalog because it is not my first language) which, mind you, is also taught in the Philippines.

i love this.. it's like saying "dont mess with us or ud be dancing with devils".. literally.. lol
i dont think there's anything racist about this.
theyre just looking for an exotic language and they actually did a good research. I dont wana deny it.. weve got tons of urban legends and we believe in bad spirits. and andami kayang sinasapian saten. lol
hey u no the guys running down the hall way with the mirror were also speaking tagalog they were saying something "tabi kayo dadaan kami" but it was after this part
"siya" not "sila"...are you guys deaf??... siya means him/her... so what she means is "we will kill him"...its that simple...i wonder where you dumbasses got those aghhh....we have a translation problem here...hahahaha...
Kaya pala may electric fan. I don't usually see electric fans in western homes in movies.xD

it's "sila". the demon only pronounced it like pronouncing "LL" in miLLion. and if it's "siya" that would be a grammatical error.
