  • my mom is 100% japanese, i'm half. My mom has been married to my dad who is american for 22 years, and she still has an accent when she speaks english. So i'm very proud of ayaka to sing this song in english even though she may not sound like an american singer. SO WHAT she's a japanese singer NOT english, so get over it. Anyways welcome back ayaka we missed you so much <3 (my mom has the same thyroid thing)

  • thumbs up for her cute english <3 :D

  • In the music vid her nose looked much ... flatter, NO OFFENSE!

---------------Read the top comment by avalonkokoro--------------

I don't see what the big deal is with her English. She IS Japanese, so English is probably her second language. NBD (no big deal). I think she did a good job considering what avalonkokoro said...

  • Her english is rather good, and she wasn't trying to make this song a hit in english. As avalon said,it was for her friend!

  • Her English is actually quite good - for a Japanese.

  • i like her accent it gives some emotional feel to the song

  • omg she is so amazing and this song is beautiful and emotional!!!

  • This was uploaded a few years ago. Her English probably gotten better then. Her voice is beautiful no matter what <3

  • Hell, I would luv to rewrite her lyrics for her, and train her to pronounce the words correctly to pull off the song, if she allows me to..what a waste for a song that could have hit international success..

  • @nousernamesleftatall well is a good think to listen it in english version couse jap is hard lo learn n speak!

  • pretty good your Voice aghed綾香を行く

  • I think its pretty :)

  • where did u get the song? please tell me!

  • so pretty...

  • To those who complain about her English, which English are you comparing hers with? London English, New York English, Texas English, Tennessee English, Australian English or Canadian English?

  • she was not born in English speaking country, but I must say she is great in everythiing.

    By Alex

  • I love it!!! It's as beautiful as the japanese, and her Engish is kinda cute :)

  • I'm jumping in with the crew: Stop bitching about her English! Why? Because it's not her native language. And here's a novel thought... The way she speaks and sings it actually has a really beautiful sound to it. I don't know about anyone else, but I actually LOVE the way Japanese singers SING in English. Ayaka, Hyde, Gackt...to name 3 big ones... They all have a certain lilting beauty to their voices when they sing in English. If it was 'perfect'...what would make their music unique?

  • wow...*~* even her english is so beautiful~! shes so amazing...I LOVE this english version as much as the original. .. its so breathtaking :D

  • i luv this song very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is my number one japanese song besides tears from x japan...lol...anyway it's ok if it's in eng or jap 'cause the feeling is always the same anyways so i luv both eng n jap^_^

  • i think both english and japanese versions are really good she has a beautiful voice

  • great music, great voice, dont care about the english as long as it is from the heart, Yeay!!!!

  • sick =)

  • No one sings this song better than Ayako and her English is just fine. As an English teacher I can say so. She just needs to learn to say the whole word till the end, like "myself", instead of "mysel". It's very common for Asian people to cut the end of the words when using English, however, when you're singing, it's crucial for auditing purpose, to be able to hear them clearly. I love her interpretation. I'm using her Japanese version of this song to teach the Japanese language to students.

  • besty song ever :)

  • great voice, really.and the english version is great, but the japanese version has more power... whatever, i like both ;)

  • This is a good version. I don't know why people focus on linguistics. LOL Japan isn't an English-speaking country, so this is understandable. Anyway, this is still good, I understand the beautiful message of the song, and Ayaka's voice is still a gem. :)

  • Nothing wrong with her english compared to others like Koda kumi, now that is bad english. Stop complaining people, she did amazing.

  • Hmmm found this song while looking for the song I believe in the movie my sassy girl, this song is pretty good :D

  • beutifull song,,i like this song so much,,,,,,, god bless.

  • she has pretty good english compared to other jap ppl. =]

  • Seriously, guys?! I am a fluent speaker in English and I understood every word she said. And I wasn't looking at the subtitles. Give the girl a break!! Geez. I bet she can speak English better than half of you can speak Japanese.

  • There are so many people saying her english sucks, but really, I've heard supposedly fluent English speakers who's grmmar and pronunciation is much worse than this....

  • love the song...

  • @ BandSwiftBlade Thats a terrible comment. She's just trying her best, more encouragement less negativeness.

  • @Kirusana For someone like me who listens to english songs, this is the feedback.. and I don't stand alone, many people I showed to who speak english most, also criticize it. Her best ain't good enough, reality of the world around. If she intends to make this song popular in the states, she has to think of something, or work hard on her pronunciation.

  • La letra de la canción es mejor en japonés que en Inglés

  • where can you find this song to download?

  • wow very good

  • She sounds cute.

  • i like the japanese version better, but her voice is still as beautiful as in the original... she's really talented <3

  • sugoi ne kore!!..this english version really amuse me!!!...cooL ayaka..your such one of the best japanese female performer....!!!..I ADORE you most!..this version really helps peolple who can' t speak and understand japanese language..."watashi wa Hountoni bikuri desu!!..go ayaka,..ganbatte!!.. kanoji wa sugoi ne!.

  • I like the way she sounds. English is difficult for a Japanese speaker but she does a pretty good job.

  • it's japanese english, and that's an art. deal with it.

  • If i speak Japanese language badly and call it an art, will you be ok with it???

  • yes

  • @BandSwiftBlade its her song, she can sing it in whatever language she wants... you don't like it, o well

  • @boriquadominicana I luv the Japanese version, but don't like the fact that she belittled a supposed 'hit' that I believe would become an international success when she sung in english (cos she can't speak english well). Either she should have trained herself really well, or let some fame english singer to cover it to make the song famous.

  • She has a beautiful voice.

I like all her songs. ^^

  • Damn, if only she had the guts to do this for Why so people like me wouldn't hate the theme song to Crisis Core (no hard feelings to Japanese everyone, it just doesn't give me anything, lyrics are important and when I can't follow it, it's useless basically.)

  • Wow ...these lyrics are completely wrong, her english isnt that bad either, I can understand her completely. I hope she releases more songs in english!

  • People..jeeze...ayaka KNOWS her English isn't the best. She's not trying to break into the American music scene or whatever. This SONG was WRITTEN and PRODUCED in English for her FRIEND!!! The ice skater, Miki Andou, so that Miki can use it in her skating competition. She only released this song on her CDs because there are some people who wanted the single.

Deesus...making a HUGE deal over something so simple. =.="

  • @avalonkokoro I play this vudeo often. I am so glad she recorded it in my language. I am so glad she wrote it. I wish her throat was better.

  • @avalonkokoro AT LEAST SHE CAN STILL HIT HER NOTES, ALTHOUGH SHE IS SINGING IN ENGLISH, UNLIKE FEW UNTALENT PEOPLE WHO FAILS TO HIT HER NOTES.

  • @avalonkokoro And who is Deesus?

  • @faramiomir

It's how I curse online to make it age-appropriate. :)

  • And since I ran out of room, I should mention that I do like this song and she still did a great job :)

  • Not making fun (I took Japanese for 4+ years) - but it's almost impossible for people who speak only foreign languages to fluently speak English. There are many sounds that are just not spoken, and if you grow up without hearing them it WILL impair your ability to try to replicate them. Japanese is very limited - only 5 syllables (ah, ooh, E, eh, O) preceded by about 15 consonants. Like most artists avoid -ing and just say -in' (like shining). Utada Hikaru grew up in NYC, so she's bilingual.

  • she needs the help of a professional lyricist... she also needs to improve her English pronunciation... speaking is one thing but singing in a different language is totally different matter...

  • *-* I think I love her songs *-*

But "Why" is the greatest ever ^^

  • wow her english sounds better than her japaniswe(that just my opinion ) i like both versions

  • this is a beautiful song but i prefer the japanese version ^^

  • I wonder if her hubby should try singing it then? ;]

  • Love this song!! I prefer the japanese version though :)

  • hmmm....her voice is absolutely beautiful but her english is...oooh. umm...

  • if her english was 100 % good, then i think she can break into the hollywood easily cuz her voice is beautiful.

  • her voice sounds beautiful but her pronounciation could be beter she thoundz like sthe hath a lisp :3

  • then you try singing a chineese song. i bet you'll have a lisp too!!!

  • I can understand her perfectly...well, most of it. I don't know, that's just me. Her voice is beautiful, nonetheless. =D

  • I believe....(no pun intended) that she has room for improvement. Although her voice shines through everything, one of the many things that attracted me to this artist was her amazing voice when i heard the Zettai Karashi Theme song. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AYAKA!!!!

  • i can imagine it is hard to sing in another language, but a polish girl in my class can sing with far better understanding and pronunciation than this. I'm not saying that a polish person learning english is the same as a japanese person learning english, but i still think it's down to understanding the subtle parts of a language

  • most of the songs I've heard from her have very little english and by the sound of it it's her first time but you can't blame her most people when they speak the language don't use the proper accent and it sounds horrible. but not all japanese artists are like that for example Utada Hikaru sings in perfect english.

  • That's because Utada Hikaru is American born and partially raised. Sorry. I don't wanna get into this little debate over accents and everything. I just wanted to point that out.

    Smile! :)

  • Hikaru has a Japanese accent more so than American. She sounds like a Japanese person who learned English because she can't pronounce her L/R properly.

  • So? Hahah!

    Smile! :)

  • I like the japanese version a lot more XD it's just fitting better and if I can't understand it I can sing it!

  • I can sing it in japanese i have listened 2 it that much lol x I first heard it when miki ando skated 2 it and fell in love with it x

  • But I think Ayaka's voice is absolutely wonderful, even in English. She's a great singer with or without an accent. What I'm trying to say is that she's STILL a good singer, just not a good linguist. Not to mention the fact that I think it very unfair to hate something about a group of people you don't entirely know about. I may be wrong, not really listening to Japanese or any foreign music, but your opinion sounds to be very poorly based. I'm sure her English isn't THAT bad compared to others.

  • I is THAT bad compared to others. I love foreign music so I'm prepared to accept an accent. But not only is her English so horrible that I can't catch a full line but the English doesn't have proper grammar either. That, there's no excuse for.

  • Whether or not that's true, it doesn't change the fact that her voice isn't the problem, which was my original point. I agree that some of her grammar is incorrect, but that's sort of a given, I should think. Many lyrics, poems, books even, have improper grammar; no excuse is needed because they can get away with it. It's art, expression, something informal that doesn't carry with it the neccesity of properness. I can understand her, so in my respective opinion, her accent isn't that bad.

  • It's not just grammar. The words are put together where it makes no sense. If you are a professional, you don't have random mess-ups like that in your music. Her accent is horrible and the English lyrics are poorly written. All in all, it's a very low grade production and doesn't remotely compare to the quality of the Japanese version so there was absolutely no reason to waste time making an English version.

  • Okay, I'm not on nearly enough to read and reply to every one of your comebacks, so I'm gonna stop here. Just to point out, for the sake of pointing it out, the reason I replied to your first comment was because of your incorrect criticism on Ayaka's voice. Her voice quality didn't change just because she sang in another language. Like I said, a good singer does not make a good linguist. Other than that, I could care less. I hope no hard feelings were roused during this spackle.

    Smile! :)

  • It doesn't matter how good your voice is if no one can understand what you're saying. Avril Lavigne sounds disgusting when singing in Chinese but she's got a very good voice in English. Ayaka should just stick to Japanese if she can't sing in English well enough because there's no reason to put half-effort into something.

  • You know, little troll boy, I can understand her perfectly fine in Japanese and English.

  • Well I suppose everyone can understand someone's accent up to a certain extent. I'm not going to hold any grudges here because that's just ridiculous and out of line. ^_^;

    Sorry for the 'troll' part.

  • well she's obviously still living there. her family is there as well, she doesnt speak english a lot so you think its hard? give her a break . shes perfectly fine the way she is.

  • do you know how long it took her to learn that? a lot. she put 110% of effort in that. go in her shoes, and think about it.

  • no 1 ask u to buy her cds, she just tryin to show ppl the new things that she can try not to go into the american market to sell off her talent, she famous enough in her country and just tryin to show them the other things that she can do so dude or dudt come the f down. dont like leave no 1 need to hear disrespectful comments

  • If she's famous enough in Japan, she wouldn't be singing in English to please a foreign market. There's not a big market in Japan for Japanese people singing in English.

  • Racist bastards

  • nice song! i like both english and japanese version.

  • give the girl credit for singing English. her voice is very beautiful.

  • At least she put in the efforts, jerk.

  • I agree with steph lets see you try and sing in another laguage for the first time

  • this song is cool and i like it. but there is a wrong pronounciation at the beginning, just listen when she prounounce HIDDEN, she pronounce it as HEDDEN

  • accents

  • it wasn't accent it was mispronunciation of the word in Japan i is pronunced like a long e

  • i think the eng ver is bttr thant he japanese cuz i can feel mor emotion. its just that her english isnt just ther yet.

  • japanese version has more feel to it

  • The English translation is awful. It doesn't make any sense.

  • She is AMAZING! I think I like the Japanese version a little better, though. :)

  • i laugh a bit but it was good XD

  • She's pretty good at English, I think!

  • hey can u plse tell me where i can the instrumental..

    plse.......

  • I give her an "E" for effort but I think she should stick to Japanese for now.

  • I like both versions of the song.

    Thankyou for posting this ^_^

  • I heard I'm gonna go xd in the lyrics it's do ... is there maybe a little mistake?

Ayaka sounds nice in this song, however the japanese song has some more :3

  • The english version is also shorter compared to the japanese version.

    ^_^ V

  • This english version is specially published for Miki Ando in 2006 Skate America that's why it's shorter

  • I thought it was beautiful when she sang live for Miki Ando while Miki skated~

Does anyone know where I can find this english version?

  • @Ultima0001 i guess the japanese version is longer because of the translations.. it's often that when english is translated to japanese they do become longer..

  • I like the Japanese one much better....

  • i love this song!!!!!!! this is one of my favorite all time songs.

  • 'v'

  • aw! her english accent is so funny! I think this version is so sweet!

  • love the song but gosh the japlish -_-"

the lyrics is diffrent from the version I have. Of course, I posted my vid long before the official release of the english version

  • I also got the karaoke version as well~ just pm me if you want that.

    " ,V

  • Yup~ it's her.

    ^_^ V

  • Thanks for posting this...I never knew there was an English Version..Is this also Ayaka Singing??
